Wonderful five star gite

Excellent property very spacious everything you could possibly need for a fantastic holiday. The pool was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful and had great local knowledge. Would definitely return and recommend.

Wonderful stay

A most beautiful place to spend a relaxing holiday. The gite was spacious, clean, very well equipped, especially for the children. The fenced off garden area provided peace of mind, and the children loved the swing and slide. The heated pool was a big factor for us choosing the gite, and it didn’t disappoint. Finally Sandra, Mark and Daisy were wonderful hosts. Made us feel very welcome and gave some great restaurant recommendations! Hope to stay again!

Stunning property with everything you need

On arrival at 8pm with two children (aged 4 and 6) and a crazy dog we were given a warm welcome by Sandra and Mark who had the pool open and warm to jump straight in which was a lovely start to the holiday along with a great welcome pack. The house is immaculate and has everything you could need. The bedrooms were great - comfortable with white, crisp, clean linen and the girls loved The Den especially the glow up stars on the ceiling above their beds. The bathrooms were spotless, modern with good quality towels. There was wifi throughout the whole property and it even reached the pool. The garden is stunning with beautiful places to sit and rest. The garden immediately outside our kitchen was fenced off and meant we could leave the back door open at all times knowing the girls could not get into the rest of the garden where the pool was without us. The pool was warm and huge and positioned perfectly for all day sun. There is plenty to do in the area - we went to Cognac, an airshow, Royan beach, Blaye, night markets and indoor swimming at Jonzac all easily accessible but the thing we loved doing the most was enjoying the pool and garden. One of our concerns before we arrived was how it would be having the owners living on site. We didn't need to worry as Sandra and Mark were warm and welcoming but then faded away into the background only appearing when needed and their generosity in keeping an eye on the dog when we went out was amazing. Because it is also their home everything is to a high standard and small things like making sure the pool is kept at a constant (high) temperature are kept an eye on. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone with children of any age or adults only. For young children the enclosed garden with swings, slide and amazing wildlife (not least the large family of swifts) will keep them amused for hours. For older children the pool table, table tennis etc should keep them amused if they ever get fed up of the pool. For those without children this house offers a complete escape with true peace and quiet. There are areas to sit and read a book or just close your eyes and not hear a thing for hours. The house is big enough to accommodate a larger group with a large outside table comfortable to sit at with a few bottles of wine until the early hours.

“Just perfect!”

Great location in the countryside, surrounded by many sunflower fields, it was picturesque! The Gite had everything we needed and was very comfortable and homely. The girls particularly loved the Den! The garden had plenty of space to run around. Swings and hammocks for us to enjoy, and of course the beautiful pool. It was all one depth which meant the grown ups could swim comfortably, and the kids could play safely on the floats etc. There were also other games/puzzles/books provided inside the house, as well as outside games like table tennis etc. There was also an Ostrich farm nearby. The owner was very proud to show off her Ostriches and to tell you everything you needed to know about them. Also, another restaurant called GIGI'S was close by, we went on a Saturday evening and enjoyed a lovely meal, and it had a great atmosphere. Mark and Sandra couldn't have made us feel any more welcome, they really made our holiday. Our girls were really taken with their dogs, Ruby and Daisy, who were so gently and friendly. All in all, it was a great Gite, and not too far away from the beaches and places of interest. Mark and Sandra were great hosts, and we all had a very relaxing holiday!
