Excellent stay for Vatican

Matilda was fantastic for our stay to visit the Vatican and the Sistine chapel. She also was extremely helpful when we had difficulty getting a taxi and getting to the train station. Terrific stay!

Our stay with Matilde was wonderful. She bent over backwards to make sure we enjoyed our stay and the accommodations were clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend Matilde and her BnB to anyone looking for accommodation in downtown Rome

Rome away from home.

We loved our stay here. The place was wonderful, the people very friendly and welcoming. It is located next to a coffee shop that is amazing! Located very close to Vatican city, the local neighborhoods are so much fun to explore. Close to so many places, easy to get to and from. We would certainly stay here again when we come back to Rome.

Rome trip

We found that it was easy to walk anywhere we needed to. It was super close to the Vatican and about a 30 minute walk to Trevi fountain. The place was beautiful and had everything you would need. We loved it and would go back

Great location!

Fantastic place to stay! Friendly easy to reach owner! Walking distance to Vatican City! One block from the subway! Mini split AC. We loved our stay here and will be returning when I get another chance to visit Rome!

Perfect Place!

We had a great stay in the Starfish suite. Matilde is the best! Our room was super clean and the perfect size for four people. It’s location was ideal for using the metro to get around Rome. Thank you Matilde!

Perfect Hostess for our First Trip to Rome

Matilde was such a thoughtful host! She thinks of every detail. We loved her binder full of recommendations, maps, etc. The apartment was cozy and comfortable. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day of exploring Rome.

Great Property Near a Metro

Property was great! Matilde was very helpful checking in and left clear directions on how to get there. She even left a couple cold drinks for us in the fridge after our long journey from the airport. Would definitely stay again next time in Rome. Only downside was building was getting a facelift at the timebut it did not disturb us at all, and there were no other issues as a result.

I feel so lucky to have 'stumbled on Matilde and her lovely B & B. Matilde thinks of EVERYTHING. She is responsive and quick to follow through. The property is spotless, and Matilde can be seen working to keep it so. She is so kind and gregarious. We loved the location which is so convenient to the Vatican and its wonders. Staying at this property made us feel like a real part of Rome, and not just tourists. Although it is old, that is part of its charm. It is not the Hyatt or Marriott, it is superior to these commercial ventures. We LOVED it, and we were enchanted by Matilde. She was very accommodating and supplied all necessary instructions. Would do it again and again. Thank you, Grazie Matilde!!

Great location

Unfortunately the building was covered with scaffolding which made it appear to be vacant, the interior lobby could also get some attention. Otherwise the location walking distance to the Vatican City and subway were very convenient. A second unfortunate experience for me was the closure of the subway at night forcing me to take a taxi from Termini and overpayng for the ride.

Quiet Location Close to the Things You Need in Rome

The space was tight for three, especially our daughter who had to bend down in the loft which has a very low ceiling, but it was clean, comfortable and in a perfect location for getting to everything inside the Vatican Walls. So many of the areas in Rome are packed with crowds and noise, but For My Friends B&B was a quiet, despite being so close to the hub of Catholic history. Equally beneficial is having a Metro station (Octaviano) three blocks away. That made access to many of the other sights like the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Pantheon just minutes away via the subways serving Rome. Matilde went out of her way to help with some special needs, like picking up tickets for an audience with the Pope. It's hard to put a value on service like that when it gives you an opportunity like we had in the attached photo.

Our stay at Matilde's "For My Friend's B&B" exceeded expectations. Matilde is a wonderful host and was very attentive to our needs. She went the extra mile to assist us, where other B&Bs do not. The location is convenient to train and bus and a short walk to Vatican City. Our family highly recommends that you stay here for an enjoyable visit to Rome.

Not as advertised

Be aware that as a bed and breakfast it is just that-- a bed with breakfast off-site. --There were reviews of friendly staff helping with luggage, however there was no staff while we were there, just the host working in the office across our room. --When I booked the place I had counted three adults and a child. I provided the ages including the baby (fifth person), however when we arrived the host said the child was a fourth adult and she "made an exception" and waived the extra person fee. --The bathroom is not private, it is in the hall outside of the room. We were the only guests staying so we had no other people around which was nice, but we didn't feel too comfortable leaving our things in the bathroom, etc. --The breakfast was included, however it was not in the "living room" area that you see in the pictures, we had to walk to a coffee bar at the end of the street to cash in our coffee and croissant coupon. --There is no swimming pool in the building as it is advertised in the VRBO website (or swimming pool near-by). We had been travelling for a few weeks before arriving in Rome and with a young family we were excited to dip in the pool for a little bit to cool off from the 35+ degree weather. The layout is just like the pictures, the building is really old so it smells as such. --The vatican is about a ten-fifteen minute walk, but if you're thinking about being close to the attractions it is not worth it or family friendly-- and on a sidetone review for Rome, if you are travelling with more than four people (even if the fifth is a baby) taxi's will refuse to take you anywhere. If you curve your expectations, or do not have a young family this might be the place for you.

"Mathilde nous a accueilli de manière très sympathique et agréable. Très prévenante, elle nous a conseillé dans nos visites. La chambre qu''elle nous a préparée était très belle, propre et chaleureuse. Le quartier est calme. L''appartement est bien situé. Il permet de découvrir le centre de Rome à pied ou en métro (arrêt à 250 m). Nous recommandons cette chambre d''hôtes."

La camera corrisponde esattamente a quanto rappresentato nelle foto e nel sito della proprietaria. L'abbiamo trovata molto confortevole, di recentissima ristrutturazione, arredata con gusto e dotata di un ampio bagno personale. All'arrivo abbiamo riscontrato un buon livello di pulizia e l'accoglienza è stata molto cortese. La proprietaria si è sempre mostrata disponibile nei ns. confronti fornendoci anche molti consigli utili al ns. soggiorno. L'alloggio è situato nei pressi della fermata della metro e a due passi dal vaticano. Ottimo quindi per visitare al meglio la città. Consigliamo fortemente l'alloggio a chi volesse passare qualche giorno nella capitale.
