A Little Slice of Heaven

This cabin was a wonderful find! It has everything you need and then some! We really enjoyed the mountain views from the porch swing, watching the light change the shapes of the mountains as the sun set. It's close to Brevard and great hiking. We are already planning a return trip!

Mom and Daughters Weekend Away

We were all meeting up to celebrate our Mother’s birthday and have a quick relaxing get away. The cabin was exactly what we needed and were hoping for! As soon as we walked in we loved all the details and charm of a cabin that somehow made you feel like you were home. Close to Brevard and all of the great trails to hike. We are already looking forward to a return visit. The owners were so nice and welcoming. The perfect place for a mountain trip!

Great place and host

Fun, eclectic cabin in a good location. Lots of games and books to enjoy on the porch. Price point is perfect and Charles is a top-notch host.

The Partridge Nest

We had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was very cozy and well maintained and decorated with many antiques throughout. We will definitely stay there again. The owners were very nice and accommodating and gave very good details of a variety of things like locking the door a certain way. Thank you for opening your sweet cabin to us.

Delightful Mountain Hideaway

Loved our girl’s weekend at this delightful mountain home. The owners have taken great care in giving this mountain retreat a vintage cabin vibe with all of the comforts of home. Screened porch is pretty with a view of the mountains. The owners were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Hiking with hubby

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing cabin! Rustic yet classy. So comfy! Awesome screened porch. Close to Brevard and short drive to all the hiking areas. Charlie was super helpful, especially in explaining the driveway up...slow and steady and it’s all good.

birthday and anniversary celebration

The Partridge Nest was the ideal spot for us to have a three day celebration of my wife's birthday and our friends anniversary. The cabin was charming, bright, comfortable, with the screened porch our favorite spot for cards and wine. Location was perfect for trips to Pisgah Forrest, DuPont State Park, and nearby Brevard. We will consider another visit.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We learned about this particular cabin from a write-up in a local magazine and decided that it would be a great spot to get away after a busy holiday season. Partridge Nest and its host, Charlie, made for a great experience! Charlie provided great directions and tips on how best to find the cabin and navigate the turn up to the house. The cabin itself was fully furnished with everything necessary for a winter stay, including all the wood stacked and ready for a fire after hiking all day. The cabin is conveniently located for easy access to Brevard, Asheville and all the restaurants and breweries in the area. We will be back again for another stay!

Arrive in daylight

The driveway is steep, and has a sharp turn, arrive before dark if at all possible. Kitchen, living room and Porch are all great.

Incredible Rustic Experience!

Don't search anywhere else. This is the place. We've stayed at many 4-start and 5-star VRBOs and if you're looking for a rustic, peaceful getaway, this is the place! Interior decor and layout is incredible. Very private. Perfect for a writer. Screened porch and no bugs. Great fireplace! We've already booked a return visit in 2 weeks! The owners, Charlie and Gene, are wonderful. Trust me, book this cabin. You'll love it!

Beautiful home!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. The owner was so accommodating after a one day delay in our arrival date. He was quick to respond and kept me well informed. The cabin was beyond our expectations. It was cozy, spotless and beautifully decorated. Every touch was done with love…from unique and whimsical pieces to a wonderful collection of books to browse through, my particular favorite was the cat book! The location was excellent for trips to Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville and local waterfall hikes. Everything was perfect! I will going back for sure!!

Amazing NC Mountain Cabin

We rented the Partridge Nest and took our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children under the age of 7) for a Thanksgiving getaway to the Brevard area for a couple of days. Communication with the Brendles was great and they had the cabin prepped and ready for us upon arrival. Charlie stopped by to show us a few things about the cabin and even made a special trip to bring us some firewood for our stay. We visited downtown Brevard, Asheville, and Pisgah National Forest in our 2-1/2 days there, all of which were very accessible from the property. It was such a lovely place to come home to after very busy days with kids and have a fire and enjoy the views and the quiet. We will definitely be back likely in the summer to enjoy all of the warm weather activity and scenery that Pisgah has to offer. Thank you Charlie and Jean...it was wonderful!

Astounding North Carolina Mountain Retreat

I have a beautiful home and an extraordinary kitchen myself, so often I am disappointed by both when I rent a getaway cabin. Not so with this beautiful cabin in Brevard! I was surrounded by interior design inspiration in this cozy, rustic getaway in the mountains. We sat by a roaring fire each night and I cooked wonderful meals. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and we learned so much about the area. A short walk to one of the first African-American churches, short drives to incredible hikes with waterfalls, but mostly the desire to sit in this cabin and read, either in front of the fire or in the sweet window seat. Everything we needed was there and nothing disappointed. Thanks to Charlie and Jean! We even had a last goodbye from a famous Brevard white squirrel!

Tranquil, Peaceful, and beautiful Mountain cabin

This cabin is simply amazing. Literally, the only negative was that we only had it for one night, but we definitely made the most of it. The cabin is decorated beautifully, and feels exactly as a mountain cabin should. The porch swing and the view of the mountains with a glass of wine at night and a cup of coffee the next morning, was everything my soul needed. It is so close to downtown but feels secluded. Close enough to many activities too. Even though we were only there for a night, we were able to tube down the river, go to a nice dinner, and then get up the next morning for hiking to see the waterfalls (there are many different places to choose). Would have loved to stay a week ,and would have never tired of anything, but we were able to make the most out of a short weekend. Cannot say enough. Hope to be back soon!

Special place! Don't hesitate!

My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to Partridge Nest and were joined by my sister and her husband. We all absolutely loved this special place! The description of the house and property is very accurate, however you will be pleasantly surprised that there is so much more. The beauty of this place is in the construction, details, and personal touches. The owners have clearly poured their design and hosting expertise throughout the house. There are so many fun and whimsical details in the artwork, books, architecture, and artifacts. We enjoyed cooking in one night and had dinner in downtown Brevard one night. (Don't miss The Square Root!) The kitchen was charming and well equipped, and if you enjoy quirky charm and delightful details, you will love it! The beds, bedding, and pillows were high quality and super comfortable. The layout was perfect for two couples, with a bit of room to spare in the loft. The screened in porch was adorable and bigger than we anticipated, with a lovely porch swing and small dining table for 4. The view of the mountains was gorgeous! We had not expected the view to be so wide - maybe because we visited in winter. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace immensely. The hosts provided starter firewood, but if you love using it like we do, I would suggest bringing some of your own. The little town of Brevard is so inviting and fun to explore, and we especially loved the bookstore and shops. If you like breweries, Oskar Blues is a fun stop just outside of the downtown. Unfortunately, we did not have the pleasure of meeting the hosts in person, as they were traveling out of state at the time. However, Charlie made a point to call us following our visit to say a friendly hello, ask how our weekend was, and thank us for staying. We will definitely be back to the Brevard area and this lovely rental.

We will definitely stay here again. We have been coming to Brevard for a couple of years but branched out to stay in a house this time. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. The house was a home that was well stocked and comfortable. It provided anything we could ask for.

Far away but close to town.

The house was tucked away so much so that you felt that you were in the middle of nowhere, but really only a few minutes away from town. Enjoyed the house because of the rustic feel to it and overall layout. Will definitely book again.
