Welcome to the Prickly Pear Casita!

Designed and decorated with modern aesthetics, this is a one bedroom stand alone guest house on our shared property that can sleep up to four people, while enjoying beautiful mountain views.

The Prickly Pear is located in the center of Sierra Vista, less than 7 miles from Ft. Huachuca, and only a short drive away from numerous trails or wilderness preserves for bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, and more.

The casita was perfect for my weekend getaway. It had all of the amenities that one would need. Plenty of linens, towels, and a well stocked kitchen. Prompt responses in any communication with the host. In the pics, what you see is what you get. I’d stay again.

Excellent stay

A lovely casita that was comfortable and centrally located. The Casita was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities that we needed. We wouldn't hesitate to book again on future stays in the area.

Great place

We enjoyed staying at this place. Everything was clean and convenient; back patio provided a wonderful view of animals and Mountain View’s.Nice place to stay for several nights!

A little sanctuary

We spent 4 nights at this little casita and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had just sold our house and needed a place to stay during the transition time - this place met our needs beautifully. It was quiet and peaceful, well-appointed, comfortable, and easy. We enjoyed cooking breakfast each day in the kitchen and relaxing in the evenings after busy days. Great location - convenient to everything we needed. Lots of nice touches, like the cooking and laundry supplies, soft throw blankets, extra linens and pillows. Really private and relaxing.

It was lovely for what we needed to do.

Everything was accurate for the listing, however we did need to purchase a box fan to drown out the barking dogs. It will not deter us from booking again. We were grateful to find a pet free VRBO as both of us have terrible allergies.

Cozy and welcoming home

We had a great stay! We loved the welcoming info and local suggestions and the tasteful decor in the casita. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the back porch was perfect for morning coffee.

Teacher Time Off

My teacher friend and I like taking mini trips to recharge in the winter to refresh ourselves for school. The home was lovely and had all of the basic necessities. The neighborhood was very quiet and the little house was nice and cozy to start our day and come back to after some adventures.

Nice place and in a pleasant neighborhood

Great location in a residential neighborhood. Very convenient for our hiking trips in the nearby mountains. A quiet place with the exception of neighbors barking dogs which the owner told us was the case before we arrived. Would stay there again if we traveled to Sierra Vista.

Great casita in great location!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was just big enough, very clean and had everything we needed. The owners were nearby and great to deal with. We were on a birding photography trip, and the location was perfect for the various sites we visited. As a bonus, we found several birds which were new to us on or around the property, some of which we didn’t see anywhere else!

Great stay!

I enjoyed my long term stay at this property, it was easy to access, modern, homey and very comfortable! Easy to communicate with the hosts and I felt very safe here. I would recommend this location for any long or short term stays!

We are Caitlin and Jeff and we are excited to share a piece of our home with you. In 2019 we renovated the guest house on our property to host travelers from all over to come and enjoy Sierra Vista. We both love living in this beautiful high desert town with our young son. Whether you are here for business, family, or leisure we hope you have a great stay!

We love having mountain views directly from our doorstep and being centrally located close to shopping and more. We live in a safe, quiet neighborhood where homes are set apart so it feels more private. We often see wildlife in the neighborhood or on the property. Located close to multiple churches and schools, we always feel safe and know this is a great place to raise a family.
