Cozy Country Home in the Heart of the Eastern Shore

Need a quiet, uncrowded, remote place to get away? What better way to experience the Eastern Shore than buy staying in a cozy country home that sits on 1 acre of land. This family home has been completely renovated from top to bottom. You'll have all the conveniences of an open concept gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, laundry on-site if you need it, and the comforts of plush linens and all the toiletries you'll need to sleep at ease.

The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, sink, and small dishwasher. Plenty of glassware, plates, bowls, silverware, cooking pans, etc. We provide all paper products: paper towels, napkins, and toilet paper. We always make sure there are coffee, creamer, and sugar available, and there is usually salt, pepper, and some spices leftover from other guests. For each of the four bedrooms, you will find a set of towels, washcloths, and toiletries. On the days you happen to stay in feel free to prop your feet up to watch TV or Netflix in the living room. And don't forget to bring your bike, boat, kayak and fishing pole or crab pot to enjoy all that the Eastern Shore has to offer. The Eastern Shore is home to the car-less Tangier Island, 14 undeveloped seaside barrier islands, an award-winning winery, and historic waterfront towns like charming Cape Charles and Onancock.

Guest Access:
This is a private house for your use only, and nobody will enter without advance notice and permission or an emergency. This includes a side driveway that can hold up to 4 cars stacked 2x2.

To make your check-in experience as smooth as possible, we have keyless entry. The keyless lock allows you to enter and exit the home without a key. You will be provided with a unique four to six-digit code prior to check-in. Your code will be for you only during your stay and will be deleted upon check-out.

Home away from home

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Cozy Cottage. Host Peggy anticipated our every need and promptly responded to any questions that popped up. Her warm hospitality had us feeling as welcomed as friends and family. Cozy Cottage is spacious and comfortably furnished. But the real “star” is the huge granite island in the kitchen area of the open floor plan. We ate, relaxed, shared family stories around it, and created new family memories. We look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful home

This house was very open and spacious with a beautiful kitchen and nice accommodations bathrooms and bedrooms very well-maintained. I was very impressed. The pictures did not do the house justice. It is immaculate in the yard as well maintained.

Very comfortable

It was a very enjoyable stay, quiet and peaceful. The VRBO listing was somewhat misleading and there was no nearby water for crabbing & fishing. Our fishing/crabbing needs were met by traveling to Cape Charles approximately 20-25 miles south of the property. Still looking for the vrbo dock that was pictured in the listing. We found fantastic dining at MALLARDS at the wharf in Ocanock- great food!

Repeat Stay

This was our second time staying at this lovely property in Painter, VA. Everything was perfect. We were once again impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the home and it’s amenities. Our host, Peggy, was friendly, helpful, readily accessible by phone, and prompt to respond to all inquiries. This property will always be our first choice for lodging when on the Eastern Shore.

A Wonderful Home With Numerous Amenities

Peggy's home in Painter, VA, has been nicely renovated, decorated, and furnished. Everything was exactly as described in the listing with an abundance of amenities and surprises. (Thank you, Peggy for the snacks, drinks, and bottle of wine.) Furthermore, the home was spotless. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings and serenity of the house and neighborhood . We appreciated the close proximity to attractions and many outstanding restaurants. Because of the centralized location, we were close to numerous beaches and local attractions for people of all ages. Boredom was never an issue. Peggy was always amenable to being contacted and responded in a very timely manner. We will definitely make it a point to stay at Peggy's home again when we are on the Eastern Shore and would highly recommend others to do the same.

Great Spot

Peggy's home was great for our getaway. Conveniently located between chincoteague and VA beach. The home had a carport, was spacious and had everything we needed. Communication was good and Peggy was helpful. Would gladly stay again.

Eastern shore retreat

This home is situated in the rule area of the Eastern shore. It is easily accessible off of Lankford Highway. It is convenient to Wachapreage and Quinby. It has a convenient simple carport which made it nice for us.

Great place in a very quite neighborhood,

Place was great! 3 bathrooms 4 nice rooms. Kitchen and living room very large space. Peggy was a great host and was easy to contact for any questions. I will definitely stay here again on my trip to the area!
