The Jeff is a boutique hotel and private oasis located on Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall. Nestled above the world famous Jefferson Theater, you'll find sleek spaces, soaring archways, and subtle luxury with a rock and roll edge. Once you're inside these soundproof walls the world recedes like a dream – until you're ready to emerge, refreshed, with the heart if the city on your doorstep.

The Jeff offers:
"Suites" with king beds w/additional living area
"Studios" standard king bedroom

Jeff Suite 203: Each room is individually furnished with a distinct personality. Think effortless cool, creamy suede, and desert colors with pops of quirky humor. To ensure privacy and true getaway vibes, The Jeff was designed to be entirely self-service (no front desk or need for check-in). Upon booking, you will receive a unique code that gives you access to your room.

The Jeff Hotel Suites feature a luxurious, custom-made king bed - perfect to settle down in after a hard day's rockin', two flat screen TVs, and a seating area with an additional sofa bed and large windows overlooking the Downtown Mall. A Marshall amp speaker is provided to kick back and enjoy your favorite tunes. Each room is equipped with a wet bar, mini-fridge, and Nespresso machine. Our spacious en-suite bathrooms boast high ceilings, skylights, and walk-in showers.

Being on a pedestrian mall the hotel has no on-site parking, but we think that having C'ville's most popular bars, restaurants and music venues mere steps away is a great trade-off!

*Note – The Jeff Hotel is located in a historic building above the nationally renowned Jefferson Theater and has no elevator. Each room is only accessible via stairs, in some cases multiple flights. Off premise paid parking is available a 5-minute walk from The Jeff Hotel.

Another enjoyable stay here

Lovely stay, perfect location right on the downtown mall. Just remember you have to ascend a couple flights of stairs to get to the room. Would stay here again in a second.

A Fun Charlottesville Weekend

There were 3 shows at the Jefferson Theatre during our stay but the room was so quiet that we couldn't hear a thing. The room was very modern. We had a bit of a problem getting the TV's to work for us but figured it out. Overall, it was a great stay.

Great Place to Stay in Charlottesville

This was a fantastic and easy place to stay while we were in Charlottesville. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The whole process was very easy and convenient. We have already recommended this to some friends who are going to be in Charlottesville in the next couple of months.

Everything was great. One downside is downtown Charlottesville has an increasing issue with homelessness downtown with 5 people sleeping in the alcoves every block. The unit and location were great!

Perfectly located

Overall, we loved our stay as it was very convenient to all tge Downtown locations we visited - Alligator concert at the Jefferson, Melring Pot, Shops, etc. Only challenge was getting notice of our pet to the owner and lack of silverware in the kitchenette.

Great location, Great host

I had a lot of life difficulties within the 24 hours leading up to this reservation and the host was amazing. They changed my reservation twice, had great communication, and were very attentive to our needs. Based on hospitality alone, this was an amazing experience. Of note, the entry way is not kid or disability friendly. There is no lobby, entry through a narrow staircase only. This would not deter me from re-booking here. But plan accordingly! Bring whatever you plan on hauling up a flight of steps. It's a historic building; it's expected. Amazing location, great walkable neighborhood. Very cozy atmosphere. Overall, a treasure.

Perfect for a weekend downtown stay

Location of this unit is ideal. Right in the center of the downtown mall which allows you to walk to tons of great bars, restaurants and shops. It is located above the theatre and there was a band playing 1 night we were there. Soundproofing was pretty solid as I barely noticed any sound. A little bit of bass for 10 mins or so but it wasn't terrible - similar to a car with bass driving by outside. The actual unit was also very nice. Very open space with comfortable furnishings. The shower was huge. My biggest complaint was lack of storage in the bathroom. The sink top doesn't have much space to keep items on. There was only 1 towel hanging post and no shelving in the shower. There are some drawers and plenty of hangars, drawers and other posts in the wall outside of the bathroom to use. Minor complaint but it would be nice to have another towel rack and a shelf for guest brought toiletries in the shower. We used this location as a central spot for winery touring. In and out of the garage is easy. It is $12/day and the host gives a validation pass that can be used for 1 day. Getting in an out of the room was easy. Tons of communication about the codes, parking and using amenities in the unit. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here and will consider this unit again when I return to Charlottesville.

A microwave would be nice to heat up leftovers! Also the wattage of some bulbs, especially the bathroom and over table in kitchenette, should be higher for better visibility.

Modern lodging, great location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Jeff Hotel and its location on the Downtown Mall! Very comfortable for our family. Check-in/out was smooth, room was clean, would love to stay again.

Beautiful Hotel, Frustrating Experience

When we arrived, our door code didn't work. Other guests didn't seem to have this issue, so it could've been a fluke. Since there is no staff on the property we had to wait outside our room until someone contacted us back. It was only about a 30 minute wait, but I have a toddler who needed to use the restroom and a nap, neither of which could be well handled from the hallway. Once we got in, the room was beautiful. There were a few spots it looked like the cleaners may have missed on the couch and near the table, but overall it seemed pretty clean. Really appreciated the garage validation, it made parking easier. Would definitely recommend for short stays. If you need to bring more than a couple of pieces of luggage, it can be challenging to make the short hike from parking to the room. As they mention, there is no elevator, so definitely be prepared for that. The convenience to everything in C'ville was wonderful. And, being right on the mall with shopping, dining, etc. was great. My kid loved the ice cream shop, the Discovery Center, toy store, etc. We enjoyed the dining, bookstores, and other boutiques, as well as being close to the beautiful hikes, etc. The only down side, if you sit outside in the Jefferson patio area, be prepared to be consistently approached by the unhoused people who sleep at the mall, especially in the evenings when shops start closing. One individual in particular was quite inebriated and wouldn't leave me alone. He took the drink off of my table, kept asking for money or items, and seemed to believe that I was a person who didn't hire him for a job at the Theatre, which made him a bit irate. I realize the property can't manage this particular issue, but if I had known, I may have planned differently. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, but I might trade some conveniences for others on my next trip.
