Lovely home, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view was amazing especially as the surf was huge whilst we were there.Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Amazing NYE Holiday!

Me and a group of friends stayed 5 nights for NYE and had ana amazing time. The properties a cute little beach house with plenty of space and everything you need for a comfortable stay. With views of the beach and a beautiful backyard looking into the bush the location is perfect.

Great stay, excellent location

We had a wonderful time! The house was all set up with everything you could need. Great communication with owner Bruce, and Tim the property manager was very friendly and inviting. Beautiful view of the beach too! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Wainui Escape

The house is well located up a hill and away from the road. It is super quiet at night which we loved. Very warm with comfortable beds. We will definitely be back as the location is perfect for us.

Amazing

My husband and 3 young (under 10 yrs) children stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved our time there. The house is set away from the road (friendly neighbours) and a short walk to such a beautiful beach. 10 minutes drive into the city for any major supplies, otherwise spent our time relaxing and enjoying the wonderful location. 100% recommend and definitely would stay there again

It was ok for what we needed. Airing cupboard had a lot of mouse dirt in it which suggests a vermin problem. Plenty of towels etc.

Long weekend in Gisborne.

This is an amazing property, the photos are good, but the house is better in reality. The bedrooms are huge, so heaps of room for everyone to spread out. Unfortunately the weather was bad for our visit, but I can imagine how beautiful it would be to start the day on the front deck watching the sun rise and ending the day on the back deck in the shade, absolutely stunning. The upside to the bad weather was lighting the fire, what a treat. Thanks very much Bruce and Taz.

I came to Gisborne in 1972 and began my teaching career and building a house at Wainui beach in 1978. I left New Zealand in 1985 on QE11 Arts Scholarships in America to complete a BFA and MA in Contemporary Modern Dance. In 1996 I moved to Japan, spent 6 years working in Corporate Tokyo before accepting a Professors Position in a National Japanese University lecturing in Arts Communication. Now retired living in Japan we have owned 49 Moana Road since 2006 and began renting as WAINUIESCAPE in 2009. Now Taz and I travelling extensively which of course includes Wainui Escape.
