Amenities were exactly right for the location being close to well-known mountainous walking, hiking and tramping trails. The log fire was a life-saver on a cold night. The host was welcoming and helpful.

Great weekend getaway

Nick's cottage is an ideal spot to enjoy the stunning surrounding countryside. Muz was a fantastic host. The cottage has everything you need including a fabulous log burner. We will be back agian.

Mini stay to walk a bit of Mt Somers

Lovely wee converted cottage out the back of the owner's property, with a little stream and trees behind. Good fire and beds, alhtough we didn't get to use them as I had come down with a bug. Hope to be back again as it's a perfect location.

Excellent stay, wonderful owners!

Beautiful property, the kids loved the creek. Easy access point for walks, cafe and Methven. Wonderful owners who were great with the kids and very understanding when I had a health issue. Very comfortable beds, lovely fire. Highly recommend, definitely stay again!

Cosy rural stay

Its the second time we have both stayed at this lovely property and we would highly recommend it for those looking for a quiet rural retreat. It had all the basic amenities needed, comfortable beds and a nice woodburner to take the chill off the cold evenings.

Amazing Little Cottage

This place was amazing! We were looked after completely by the hosts Chris and Muz! The location is perfect being close to walks, ice staking, drives and skiing.

Great cosy cottage

Such a cute warm place to stay after a days skiing. Lots of firewood to keep the fire stoked. Basic kitchen, shower and toilet but everything you needed. Nice hosts.

Staverly Stay

The bach was great with everything needed for a comfy easy stay. Handy to mountain bike rides around the Hakatere Conservation Area. Owners friendly and helpful, making stay really enjoyable. Lovely garden to wander around and enjoy.

Exploring the back country

This property was a great place to base myself to be able to head south to Lake Heron, Lake Clearwater, Mount Potts and also be able to go North to Mount Hutt. Ashburton was close enough when I needed to restock supplies. The hosts were lovely. There was unlimited dry firewood which was great for this time of year. I had a great last night with the hosts who treated me to a beautiful home cooked meal, great conversation and even some live music. Thank you both 🙏

Countryside beauty

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at Nick's cottage for 7 nights. Check in was easy with all the information provided by the owners. The house was nice and warm when we arrived. The house had everything we need, from fully equipped kitchen to basic toiletries. Beds were comfortable and our kids particularly loved the bunk beds. It was nice to come back to a powerful hot shower and a cozy house after a day of snowboarding at Mt Hutt. Loved the wood fire place and kids even had a few toasted marshmellow. Location couldn't be any better. An outdoor ice rink and lots of family friendly walking tracks close by for when the mountain is closed. Do check out some local free range eggs and honey. The owners were so friendly and always made sure we had everything we need and were having a good time. Thanks for the wonderful stay Muz and Chris! Can't wait to visit again.

Cosy base

Chris and Muz were awesome! Muz had the firer going every night we got back from skiing. He even had the outside fire going so the kids could roast marshmallows. Was super warm with the fire, clean and tidy. Quality beds. Great shower. Lots of space for drying ski clothes. Really enjoyable stay!
