Quiet and relaxing

A lovely stay in a peaceful location. Close to a short(ish) walk in Mercer Bay. It was great waking up with the views overlooking Piha beach.

Happy Mother's Day

It is not a fancy place, but homey and peaceful with everything we need for a relaxing weekend. The view is stunning. I love the bed in the alcove and being wake up by the sun... wish I could live there.My son and I have a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing this place with us!

Authentic NZ Bach Experience

Visiting family in Auckland (from Ireland) over Christmas and New Year, we wanted a quiet few days by ourselves to recharge the batteries and couldn’t have found a better spot. Loved the views, the nearby hiking, and the beach. Great communication from hosts. Thank you!

Family weekend

Have spent many a holiday in this area and it was wonderful to return to old haunts and relive the past with my grandchild. Stunning location, the West Coast of NZ has a raw energy which is exhilarating.

Amazing views, chilled location

We had a weekend away to chill and take a break from day-to-day busyness. This was the perfect location with an amazing view to the beach and everything we needed to do nothing. The fire had been set ready for us to light, perfect for the wet winter weekend.

Charming & traditional bach

We had a lovely stay at this charming traditional bach. Although we didn’t meet the hosts in person, they created a welcoming experience and were great to deal with whenever we messaged them. The place offers a genuine, old-fashioned experience that’s perfect if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy a bit of classic Kiwi holiday charm.That said, we did feel that the cleanliness could have been a bit better to match the overall warmth and character of the bach. With a little extra attention in this area, it would be an even more delightful spot to stay.Overall, a wonderful experience thanks to the friendly communication and the authentic atmosphere. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional getaway with a personal touch.

Cosy old bach in a Stunning location

Really lovely 4 nights in this eclectic good old kiwi bach. Really cosy and homey with everything you need. It was great being able to bring my dog, although please note it's not fully fenced for those who have dogs who like to explore. Leena was excellent to deal with and very responsive. The view truly is gorgeous and I was very content just sitting on the deck looking at it and reading. Beach just down the Rd for some good walks and a nice walk to the Kitekite Waterfall as well. We are proud custodians (kaitiaki) of this very special location on the wild west coast of Auckland. In particular we are keen to preserve the quirks of this iconic kiwi bach, originally known as Clarke's bach (1937)

This is the real deal, just with indoor toilet/shower and modern cooking and comforts! It also has very easy access off the road which is hard to find in the Piha area. Ahu is the perfect base for exploring trails to the left or right. You might even see the green flash at sunset
