CAPE SHORES beauty located just steps from the beach. This 7-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom beach house is ready to make your beach vacation dreams come true! Plenty of parking in the driveway or 2 car garage. 1st floor presents 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and laundry room. There's a small deck out the rear with an outdoor shower, table and chairs and a couple lounging chairs. On the 2nd floor you'll find a Well-equipped kitchen with breakfast nook. Directly off the kitchen is a HUGE dining room with seating up to eight. Through the sliding glass door is a spacious deck with wrap around couches, perfect for that end of night drink and watching the sunset. Off the dining room is living room with TV and ceiling fans. And finally, this floor has a great game room that features a pool table, foosball and dart board. The 3rd floor has the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, another large bedroom and a smaller bedroom with 2 twin beds. This house sleeps 16 guests, perfect for a couple families looking to vacation together. This rental is dog friendly!

Wagon's can handle up to 300LBS of weight, come w/ beach chair rack, batteries charge in 2hrs and run up to 4 miles & have USB ports for charging cell phones & electronics. Availability is limited to first come first serve. Weekly rate is $250

LINENS: Each rental property will provide mattress protective pads, pillows and bedspreads and/or comforters. Most property owners also have additional blankets and pillows stored in closets that are available for use. Rental guests have the option to bring their own linens (sheets, pillowcases and towels) or rent them. For your convenience, SUNSET RENTALS offers a property specific linen package option for guests. All linens are professionally cleaned, packaged and delivered to the property prior to your arrival.

The linen rental package includes FREE delivery, pick up and contains the following:

TOWELS – 1 towel set per person based the maximum guest count for the property. Each set includes: 1 Deluxe Bath Towel 54x27, 1 Hand Towel 30x16 and 1 Washcloth 12x12
SHEETS – 1 set of high-quality bed sheets per the property's bed size and count. Each set includes: 1 deep pocket fitted bottom sheet, 1 flat top sheet, 2 pillowcases for doubles, queens, king size beds and 1 pillowcase for single size beds.
BATHMATS – 1 bathmat per full bathroom count in the property.

NOTE: The linen rental package option can only be selected on SUNSET RENTALS direct website. Those guests booking through VRBO can contact our office and add the linen rental package after the reservation has been confirmed.

PROPERTY MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: Per the City of Lewes rental property ordinance, the maximum number of overnight occupants shall not exceed 16 GUESTS. Children age 12 and younger are not considered in this number.

CANCELLATION POLICY: All reservations are subject to a nonrefundable $95 admin fee. If GUEST cancels 60 days prior to arrival date then 100% refund will be provided (less $95 admin fee). If the GUEST cancels 30 days prior to arrival date then 50% refund will be provided (less $95 admin fee)

Credit Card Processing Fee: All payments made by credit card are subject to a 3% processing fee. This fee will be added to your total booking amount.

Great Beach House!

Our entire family just loved our stay at Cape Shores. The layout of the house and bedrooms were just right for all of our generations, from grandparents to infant. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and Cape Henlopen State Park - both beautiful! We would love to return.

Amazing location, home, and experience

The home was in the perfect location for easy access to the beach, the ferry, Lewes, and Rehobeth. The main floor of the home provided plenty of space for the family to gather and share time together. We look forward to our next opportunity to stay at this property.

Great Summer Vacation Home

the property was as described, meeting our expectations perfectly. we had more than enough room for the 13 of us. the children enjoyed the game room and the adults the peacefulness of the lower level seating area. we would recommend this property highly.

Awesome House

Our extended family had an amazing week here. The house is well furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. The house is steps from the beach -- beautiful by day and amazing sunset in the evening. The pool was perfect for all ages and well maintained. The house is in a perfect location for access to the charming town of Lewes, the Lewes Ferry and Cape Henlopen State Park. So many activities for all ages. Thank you!

Great Beach House

Excellent location, one minute walk to beach. Bedroom set up very good. Kitchen Living Room and Game Room are great. Only issue - In all descriptions of property the master bedroom bed is listed as a queen. Turned out the bed is actually a King. (We did not bring a King sheet and had to get one after arriving)

Philip, thank you for the review. I went back and looked up our Welcome Letters that we send out renters 2 weeks prior to occupancy. You're correct the master bedrm bed is listed as King. No disputing that... But then I remember in the beginning of the summer season renters complaining to us that the bed was a Queen. So we changed it. Now after 8 weeks of weekly rentals coming through this property and no one complaining it was listed as a Queen..... You're stating the bed is a King. That's really strange.... I'm definitely going to look into this. Thanks Again! Carl

Get together with family for the holidays.

Great house for our family group, great location, the elevator was perfect for my 88 year old Mother to get up and down, loved the game room and so glad dogs are welcome! This was my first visit to Lewes and I now love Lewes! We have family in Cape May and they were able to come over on the Ferry for a visit for one of the days. My son & daughter in-law are in the process of having a house built in the area so I hope to spend more time there. I would love to spend some time in Lewes in the Spring, Summer & Fall months too!

Whole Family

The location and neighborhood did not disappoint. Lewes is a great place to have a family vacation and the neighbor hood is fantastic. The layout of the house served us well especially the second floor where there is plenty of space to enjoy our time together, Unfortunately, the interior seemed as though it had not been deep cleaned this season and there was dust everywhere that we did the best to take care of ourselves. Same goes for bed spreads which we just folded up and used our own. We left the place cleaner than we found it.

Hi Bob, thank you for the review we do appreciate them. I would like to clarify a couple items. We have ALL of our rental properties deep cleaned prior to the summer season. This is my 8th year managing summer rentals and every year I receive a complaint from a renter that expected the property to be deep cleaned every change over. Deep cleanings take 5-6 hours we only have 10AM to 3PM of change over time. In addition, a deep cleaning is twice the price charged to renters. This particular renter did call me about dust on the ceiling fan blades and top of some base trim. No complaints about the bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms or general areas. I understand the perception from some renters is that the cleaners only take care of one property during change over. That's not realistic. AND yes on occasion the cleaners do miss items they were supposed to hit (they're human). I have no problem reaching out to them to come back. Thank you! Carl

Amazing beach house!

I cant say enough good things about this property. I rented this for my family as we have young kids. We wanted to stay as close as possible to the beach so we wouldnt put sandy kids in the car. This house was amazing! We had so much fun. More than enough room for everyone, plenty of hot water for all the showers, so close to the beach access the kids came and went easily. The only negative was the main refrigerator and freezer werent cooling so we almost lost all of our cold food. We had to put the milk and those items in the freezer just to keep them cold and the frozen items in the downstairs freezer since that worked but the downstairs fridge didnt work. It was a bit of a hassle but carl got a person out there and it should be fixed now so it wasnt a huge deal just a unfortunate inconvenience. Overall our stay was amazing :)

Tracey thank you for the review. I'd like to provide an update on the refrigerator. When Tracey reached out about it not meeting temperature, this is typical complaint we receive. Renters come into a house and PACK the refrigerator full of food & warm drinks etc. I have the same issue and I response back the same every year. The renter needs to allow the frig to catch back up. When you buy a new frig and plug it in for the 1st time it take 12 to 24hrs to meet temperature. In this situation, Tracey stated on Sunday that the frig was still having an issue. I had my local appliance repairman take a look at it on Monday. He couldn't necessarily find an issue with it and recommend I call GE directly. I did that and JUST left the house after meeting GE tech there. This is NOT a cheap refrigerator. It's a GE Cafe series which is one level down from the best. The GE tech plugged his laptop into the frig. WOW I had no idea how detailed the diagnostics GE has on these refrigerators. He pinpointed that the refrigerator doors had opened 60 times on Saturday July 13th. CHANGE OVER DAY. He explained, there’s NOTHING wrong with this refrigerator. The renter packed full of food and then continued to open the doors 60 times. The refrigerator could not catch up. That cost us $325 worth of repair bills just to find out NOTHING was wrong. As I say, “just another day in paradise” LOL!

Wonderful beach vacation

This beautiful property was great for our large family reunion vacation. The location just across from the bay beach access was perfect. There were working bicycles, plenty of beach toys, and a cart to easily take everything over to the beach. Fishing from the private pier was a joy. Inside, the game room was great fun! The house had plenty of beds, but what doesn’t show up in the pictures is that some of the bedrooms are accessed through other bedrooms. This might work fine for parents and kids, but a little awkward for all adults. Also, a lot of the beds have metal frames and are very squeaky. Lastly, the house was clean, but when looking under the bed for an outlet, my sister found old used tissues and tons of dust bunnies. I feel the cleaning service could be a little more detailed on the weekly cleaning. (Maybe sweep under the beds?). Overall we all had a fantastic time.

Good Beach Rental

Many aspects of this property were terrific: the location is perfect, it had plenty of space for a very large group, Carl was generally responsive and helpful, and instructions for getting there, rules, etc were laid out clearly and helpfully. There was an awesome collection of beach toys and chairs which made it a blast for our kids. There are a few aspects of the property that were lacking though. Zero bikes were functional. I will grant that there’s a disclaimer in the welcome book saying the bikes might not be operational, but there wasn’t even a bike pump in the garage and the bikes had clearly not been maintained for a long time. If the owner is not going to maintain the bikes, they should be thrown out. Many items in the home were in poor repair. The fridge door was broken (which Carl did alert us to prior to our stay) and when we got there I found a giant pool of water in the fridge that I had to clean up. Many dresser drawers in the kids rooms were falling apart. Half the billiard cues had their felt tips torn off. The wifi login information posted to VRBO was incorrect (the correct network/password info was in the welcome book) and it took a day for me to find the correct information. All in all, we did have a great time, but I would have expected that, given the rates we paid, the house could have been a bit more orderly.

Samuel, thank you for the review and thank you VRBO for allowing us to respond back to reviews. I've been managing summer rentals for 8 yrs so it's not the first time a renter skewed what actually occurred. 1. WIFI PASSWORD- Samuel texted me on SAT @ 9:59PM about the password. I was asleep and texted him back on SUN @ 7:11AM. Now PLEASE keep in mind everyone. We leave a large house info binder sitting right on the kitchen island. The WIFI password is the 2nd page after the table of contents. Samuel never looked in this house info binder until I texted him the next morning. 2. REFRIGERATOR- The previous renters broke a part of the refrig. I let Samuel know ahead of arriving at the house and during last change over measured it and we're ordered a new one. The refrig was still worked it was something small that was broken but now getting a new one. 3. DRESSER DRAWERS- Things happen throughout a summer season. I have a running list of all the small items that need to be repaired. We opt to do these repairs AFTER the season since they're minor and we don't want to disrupt renters vacation week. 4. BIKES- Yes there are bikes in the house we state VERY clearly (Bold Red Font) on our welcome letters that are sent out 2 weeks prior to the renter's occupancy that we DO NOT GUARANTEE any beach chairs, bikes, toys etc. because renters break them and never tell us. It's an ongoing battle every year. Furthermore, we provide renters in the Welcome letter and the house binder several local rental companies that one can rent items from. I've already spoken to the owners and they're probably going to purchase new bikes after the season. In Summary, I responded right back to all of Samuel's text messages within minutes except for the one sent at10PM. We are replacing the refrigerator and the owners are looking at purchasing new bikes. In most of these cases we have no way of knowing something is damaged or needs repair until a renter lets us know. Last bit of advice for anyone staying in our rental units.... ALWAYS check the house binder first. It's loaded with information about the property especially WIFI passwords....... Have a wonderful day! Carl

Perfect location

Everyone had their own room, own bathroom, outdoor shower was great. Lots of space for everyone to spread out and yet large enough spaces to come together.

Perfect location

This house was perfect for our 2 families with 8 in total but could definitely accommodate more as we had plenty of room to spread out. Easy booking from beginning to end. Best community in Lewes. Pool and beach were never over crowded. Loved that the bike trails and Cape Hanalopen were right outside the community entrance. A walk on the pier completed our evenings. Be sure to grab a bucket and flashlight to take on the beach at sundown, the kids loved catching the ghost crabs that run along the beach. Overall great place!

Spacious house, close to the beach

Our three-generational family enjoyed this house for its spacious rooms on the main floor, well-equipped sunny kitchen, and two large master bedroom-size suites on the top floor. We found places to gather together for meals and games and also spots for quiet reading or naps! Very easy beach access. Our first time visiting the delightful town of Lewes - several good restaurants and small shops.

Great beach house

House was perfect for a big group with different age ranges. We had 10 people and had some extra beds and space to spare. House is right across from the beach which made things super easy. Morning walks on the beach and playing on the beach at sunset were highlights. House was very clean and spacious. We had an awesome week.

Great house at a great location

We had a family reunion with multiple generations and this house accommodated our group and all our needs. There was plenty of space in the house, very well equipped, and being right across the street from beach access was a big plus! We would definitely stay there again!

Nice house in a great location for a family

This was a family vacation with adult children. The house was very nice. Deck and grill were very nice and the large dining room table was appreciated. The property has an elevator which is nice for moving in and out. Beach is a very short walk (almost across the street). Kitchen was well equipped but, as with most vrbo’s) some of the pots and pans were warped. There are lots of beds but be aware that some of the smaller rooms are only accessible through another room (okay for families with young children). The location is very easy to get to anywhere on route one. It is about a mile walk in Cape Henlopen State Park. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Late April Getaway

We enjoyed our stay here, house had everything we needed. We had 3 couples, 6 toddlers and 2 dogs stay here with plenty of room, house is very spacious. Proximity to the beach is great. Would definitely recommend.

Great location and beach access

House is very well set up for a family. Everything you will need from grill to beach toys. Outdoor shower is great! The only thing I would recommend is to bring mattress toppers as all the beds are a little hard and uncomfortable. I would definitely book this property again!

Summers best week

We had a wonderful family vacation in this beautiful house just steps away from the private beach and within walking distance to the pool. The house was fantastic with spacious rooms, well stocked kitchen and beautiful deck. It was definitely the best week of the summer!
