Good location, but dissapointing stay

I think this is a place for people who don't care about noise, or making noise, and smokers. Positives are lovely view, clean bedlinen, good location, friendly staff, and parking with the lofts. Negatives unfortunately outweighed the positives - it was not the peaceful relaxing stay i was hoping for. I had hoped to sleep in loft, but had to give that up for somewhat quieter location of back bedroom...still ended up with several nights of very disturbed sleep from car lights on road out back glaring like strobes around curtains, and neighbour noise after 10:30pm. Noise travels easily between apartments, especially the loft ones where I stayed, and people seem not to care or think they might disturb the stay of others. I had two different families stay in one loft next to mine (27) over the 7 days I was there, and the kids ran up and down stairs and jumped from beds for hours, like 2-3 hours non stop at night, and from first thing in morning - before 7am. You hear this clearly everywhere. Also hear loud conversations of neighbours through walls. Apartment could also do with good spring clean, as think they focused their cleaning on sanitising certain surfaces, just not thorough vacuuming, cleaning windows to balconies or dusting, or checking that all pans had been cleaned by prior visitors - not fun discovering this and having to clean yourself. Fridge also froze almost everything, even after lowering the setting. You cant smoke inside BUT you can on balconies, which means if you find the smoke of neighbours unpleasant, you have to be inside and close your balcony window. Staff seemed lovely, and did ask the two families to be more careful, but honestly, it was just exhausting to have so little peace, and unless you're willing to find and confront at night, you are stuck with it as no staff on site overnight to call upon. It felt more like a B hotel than what I paid for, for which I now realise I could have found a better place to stay.
