Beautiful hilltop cabin on 25 private acres bordering the William's River State Forest. Relax at this private retreat or visit many of the nearby state parks, mountain resorts, and other attractions. (Okemo 20 miles, Bromley 17 miles, Stratton 21 miles), Horsemanship class and riding lessons (Whispering Winds 3 miles), Green Mountain Flyer -scenic railroad ride (seasonal), Lowell Lake State Park (8 miles), Mt Ascutney State Park (18 miles), Buttermilk Falls (22 miles)

Clean 3 bedroom cabin with two full baths, living room, loft space hang out, internet, smart TV, laundry room, ceiling fans in every room, kitchen with microwave and coffee maker, wood-burning stove, outdoor fire pit, outdoor grill, backyard wooden patio, front covered porch.

Perfect Cabin in the Woods

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful cabin in the woods. The home was spotless and had every amenity we needed. There was lots of space to gather and relax together. We stayed here for a wedding that was about three miles down the road and it was the perfect nearby location. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us-- we would love to come back someday!

Exceptionally clean and inviting cabin in a beautiful location

A perfect house for a VT summer escape. The house is very private and quiet, nestled in the woods. The charming town of Chester is a scenic 20 minute drive away. The house seems new and is very clean and well layed out.

Great cabin experience

First, thanks for letting us to stay in your beautiful property. It was a great memorable stay in a true cabin surrounded by beautiful trees. We visited to enjoy the fall colors and we didn’t have to drive as this location and surrounding was so beautiful. We also gone for a walk in the trail in the backside of the cabin. Overall a fantastic experience. Thank you !!!

A peaceful escape

A memorable stay

Had a wonderful time with family and friends. The property was in great shape with newer looking interior. Excellent amenities. Great collection of utensils to cook and grill. Nice collection of games for the kids to enjoy. Great fire pit. Had a good time with ample amounts of wood to burn. Location of the cottage is the thriller. we had one great life time experience getting to the place on a cold fall night. Wow the experience for great. Thank you.

Great House!

The house was lovely! It had everything we needed for a nice fall getaway. We loved the walking paths on the property and would love to stay again! The driveway was a little more rustic than we are used to and we were glad that we had an SUV.

Serene Perfection

The "cabin" is nestled in the woods and immaculately maintained. .The pictures accurately show what the home looks like, it is even BETTER in person. Our family loved sitting in the living room with the towering windows overlooking the woods. Working fireplace/wood stove is a big plus. Love the open floor plan and used the center island as a grazing station. There is a trail out the back door which we walked both mornings. Incredibly peaceful, and restful. Would like to come back and enjoy the snow!!

Exactly What We Needed

Very nice property with plenty of space for 10 adults to reconnect for a weekend getaway. Area was beautiful and very peaceful, which was exactly what my group needed. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Would love to stay here again!

Received fast confirmation from the owner. She was nice in detailing all related information. The property is well maintained and its a great place for families looking for spending quite and rejuvenating time....will definitely visit again

Great fall getaway retreat!!

We loved staying here! The cabin was spacious and had lots of amenities to enjoy (fire place, etc). The host was very communicative throughout the whole process.

Private Vermont Getaway

Marilynn's property was a great Vermont getaway for our mixed group. The house itself was clean and plenty large for a group of 7. We especially liked how there are walking trails that connect directly to the backyard. The place is secluded, so be ready for a drive to get to anywhere you might want to go. Even with the long drives, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Perfect Cabin Escape

Absolutely the best cabin to escape to if your looking to just be out in the middle of the woods. We had a great time exploring the trails and the quaint town of Chester.

First time in Vermont

Over the years we have rented in Adirondack Mountains Upstate NY, but this stay definitely tops all the prior ones. Very private, quiet and secluded location with woods surrounding it. The cabin is spacious, clean and has enough beds and linen (some owners do not provide linens). Will return.

Incredible getaway for a group

We had an amazing time in Chester and had more than enough space for our group of 8 people! There was ample room for a variety of sleeping arrangements and working remotely. The communal spaces were very comfortable and had incredible views of the surrounding scenery. We loved using the outdoor patio space (with a lounge area, dining area, and grill) as well as the fire pit close by which had benches and chairs. The house included a convenient washer & dryer and kitchen that was stocked with all the gear we needed. Additionally, the home was surrounded by walking trails our group was eager to explore. Marilynn was quick to respond to any question and was gracious and welcoming to our group. The location also could not be beat, as the home is secluded yet a not-too-distant drive from a multitude of hikes, lakes, and stores/shops to enjoy. I could not give this home higher praise if I tried, we truly had a magical time. We would 100% recommend a stay here.
