However, we were quite disappointed with the overall score, especially considering that a few of the concerns you mentioned were unexpected or not reasonable, and we feel they need to be addressed: • Storms and outdoor areas: As you were aware, Brisbane experienced several significant storms in the weeks leading up to your stay. You contacted us only two days before arrival to check if the property had been affected, and we confirmed everything was fine. Regarding the mowing, the grass around the pool is separated from the paved brick walkway by about a metre. The pool area itself was cleaned after the storms, and walking around the pool was not impacted. Storm conditions can temporarily delay garden maintenance, but all functional outdoor areas remained clean and usable. As for the teddy bear you mentioned, it is intentionally placed there to distract the local bush turkeys, as they often make a mess on the walkway. • Request to turn on air-conditioning before arrival: You mentioned that the air-conditioners were not switched on prior to check-in. We would like to clarify that this is not a standard service offered by private homes, hotels, or any type of accommodation. Air-conditioning is typically turned on by guests upon arrival, just as they would do in their own home. This expectation was surprising, especially as it contributed to a lower score. • Scoring based on the above items: Considering the communication, cleanliness, comfort, and amenities you highlighted positively — and noting that your concerns were related to weather conditions or expectations that cannot reasonably be accommodated — we feel the overall score does not reflect the experience described.
