We booked this house because it would accept our small dog and we like the area. When we arrived, the beauty of the property was a surprise. The woods are filled with trails and blooming plants and trees of every variety, including rhododendrons and azaleas. Great hosts, house, grounds and location.

We had a great week at this property. Having the owners living in a separate home on the property was helpful in case any issues came up, however the week went super smooth. Halfway through the week more drinking water was provided and the outdoor shower was so welcomed after a long day sight-seeing or at the beach. The perfect location to jaunt into Lunenburg or enjoy a quick trip to Hirtles or Sand Dollar beach and you get the added bonus of experiencing a unique and cozy heritage home. Thanks for a great week!

A great week at the Plant Farm

Our family had a great stay here. The house was beautiful and we had everything for our stay. Diane and Chris were very nice and great hosts. We will be coming to back to stay again!

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. It was clean and well located and Chris and Diane were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage grounds were beautiful and it was a pleasure to be able to sit outside and enjoy our morning coffee.We gave it four out of five stars because there was no indication that both bedrooms and the bathroom were up a steep staircase with an open side (no bannister). Neither of us felt we could take our bags up such steep stairs. While there was an option for an outside shower, the shower in the upstairs bathroom was very cramped and one needed to be limber to use it. I understand this would not be a problem for those who are young and fit, but as both of us had balance issues, it was a problem for us.

We made a last minute decision to attend a concert in nearby Lunenburg, and were absolutely delighted when we pulled into the driveway and realized what a gem we would be staying in. Diane and Chris are generous hosts, sharing this incredible place they are lovingly restoring - the house was wonderful and the property a wonderland of trees and bushes from around the world. It is a special space, made more so by the convenient location close to beautiful beaches, a great pizza spot and historic towns and communities within minutes.

Stayed two nights. Lovely hosts. The only point of improvement we had was that tap water was not drinkable, so there was a large bottle on the counter instead. Understood that the area is in a deep drought in fall 2025. Outdoor shower was a treat. Property very interesting if you are a horticulture buff, quite the history on this site!

The description of the property on VRBO is spot on. The hosts were very helpful and attentive, offering several suggestions for groceries,restaurants, shopping, and places to explore. We had a great time!

Loved staying at this wonderful and historic house. Although our stay was too short and rainy we loved the uniqueness and beauty of the property. Would have to mention that the outdoor brook fed hot shower was a highlight. Plenty to see and do in this area. I was sad to leave and already planning a reason to return.
