We were pleasantly surprised with this cottage. It's more spacious than it looks from the outside, having 2 bathrooms and laundry facilities was a huge bonus and the decor was an endless eclectic feast for our eyes! Constantly discovering interesting things to look at and read. Great internet connection, but no TV.... we played card games with our teenagers, roasted marshmallows in the fire and enjoyed Sparklers at midnight on New Year's Day. The kids even got a lesson in working the record player and they loved it! The property manager lives across the street and sne is absolutely delightful. Anything you need is just a phone call away. Location is also perfect for all the hikes and bays that surround Owaka, but unfortunately, we were rained out. The Museum was charming and there is a playground right around the corner. Quite a good one, with an under 5's area and a basketball hoop. Thanks for the memories Owaka!

Our home is on the peaceful edge of Owaka, surrounded by farmland, yet just minutes away from iconic spots like Nugget Point Lighthouse, Purakaunui Falls, Kaka Point, and beaches where you can see sea lions and even yellow-eyed penguins. It’s the ideal location for families and nature lovers who want a quiet, rural escape while staying close to stunning walks, scenic viewpoints, and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Our 3-bedroom home sits on the peaceful edge of Owaka with beautiful rural views, making it ideal for families or groups seeking a quiet escape. Yet, within minutes, you can explore iconic Catlins attractions like Nugget Point Lighthouse, Purakaunui Falls, Kaka Point, and beaches where sea lions and penguins roam freely.
