Welcome to Bear Island Cottage, a cozy four- season riverfront haven nestled along the serene Saint John River. You deserve a break, and this is the perfect place to unwind and recharge.

Cozy Riverfront Stay:
Our cottage have two bedrooms, total two queen beds and two single beds, providing ample room for your entire family. A full bathroom and a half bath ensure comfort and convenience.

Covered BBQ Shed:
Rain or snow? Fear not! Our covered BBQ shed allows you to grill year-round, showcasing your culinary skills regardless of the weather conditions.

Entertainment for All:
Unwind with a Smart TV, board games to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

Enjoy Every Season:
Swim, paddle, or cast a line in the summer, or embrace the winter wonderland with ice fishing and snowshoeing.

Year-Round Comfort:
Stay warm and cozy in the winter with in-floor heating and a heat pump/AC system, ensuring a comfortable experience regardless of the season.

Peaceful and Private Retreat:
Tucked away in a serene location, our cottage offers a peaceful and private escape. Yet, it’s conveniently located just 25 minutes from the city of Fredericton, 20 minutes from the charming town of Nackawic, and 30 minutes from the Crabbe Mountain.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a peaceful weekend with friends, Bear Island Cottage has got you covered.

(Note about Hot Tub: Due to low usage and the high maintenance required, we’ve made the decision to remove the hot tub from our offerings. For reservations with arrival dates after September 1st, the hot tub will no longer be available as an amenity. You may still see it mentioned in some past reviews — just wanted to flag that it’s no longer part of the experience. Mornings here are calm and bright—you can sip coffee on the deck while watching the river drift by. Evenings are even better, with sunsets glowing over the water and the sound of birds settling in for the night.

What we love most about the neighborhood is how relaxed and welcoming it feels. It’s close enough to Fredericton and Nackawic for easy trips to restaurants, breweries, and local shops, but far enough away that you can truly unwind. Neighbors wave, the air feels fresh, and the river is right there for kayaking, fishing, or simply enjoying the view. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful nature and small-town charm.
