Not every guest wants a room flooded with light from 5am. Some of the best sleep happens in soft, dim spaces — and The Quiet Study has been designed and is presented with exactly that guest in mind. With limited natural light throughout, this heritage suite offers a calm, even, gently shadowed atmosphere that many guests find genuinely more restful than a typical bright apartment, particularly during Auckland`s long summer days when first light can arrive uncomfortably early.

The suite carries the same uncompromising luxury specification found throughout 45 Anzac Avenue. A SMEG oven and cooktop, Miele fridge/freezer, and ASKO dishwasher equip the kitchen. The Illy barista machine is loaded with curated blends, ready from the moment you arrive. Soho Rose Tablekraft cutlery is set at the dining table, and a Voila iron and JVD Velyss garment steamer are provided for considered, longer stays.

In the living area, a Rega P1 turntable paired with a Marshall speaker invites a slower, more deliberate kind of evening — and in a suite where the lighting is naturally soft and warm rather than glaring, the experience of a record playing in low light has a particular, easy charm. Samsung Smart TVs are available for those who prefer streaming.

Both bedrooms are dressed in premium hotel-quality linens, with the master bedroom served by its own ensuite and the second bedroom by a well-appointed main bathroom — both featuring underfloor heating. The low-light character of the suite is consistent and gentle rather than total darkness, making it a genuinely versatile option for guests who simply prefer a calmer, more subdued atmosphere to wake up and wind down in.

45 Anzac Avenue — a century of history, reimagined

The building at 45 Anzac Avenue has stood at the heart of Auckland for over a century and has been transformed, with extraordinary sensitivity and an uncompromising standard of finish, into a collection of luxury suites unlike anything else in the city. The bones of the original structure have been preserved and celebrated throughout, while every interior surface has been resolved to a standard that would be at home in the world`s finest boutique hotels. The collection comprises eight suites in total, ensuring genuine privacy and exclusivity for every guest.

The entire suite is exclusively yours — both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the living and dining area. Please note the suite has minimal natural light throughout — this is a defining character of the space and is detailed here so you know exactly what to expect. Access is via electronic key card or smartphone app for seamless, secure entry at any hour.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. A member of our team will personally welcome you on arrival. Please let us know your expected arrival time and we will have everything ready.

Early check-in and late checkout can often be accommodated subject to availability. A private chauffeur transfer from Auckland Airport can be arranged with at least 48 hours notice.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

Auckland`s most celebrated precinct

Step outside and within two minutes you are in Britomart — Auckland`s most revered and revitalised urban precinct. Amano for seasonal Italian-inspired fine dining, Mr Morris for acclaimed New Zealand contemporary cuisine, Ortolana in the sun-filled Pavilions conservatory, Kingi at The Hotel Britomart for the city`s finest seafood, and a rotating cast of outstanding restaurants and bars throughout the cobblestoned laneways.

Flagship boutiques from Maggie Marilyn, Karen Walker, Zambesi, Kate Sylvester, and Deadly Ponies line the laneways alongside carefully curated independent stores. By evening, Britomart becomes one of Auckland`s most atmospheric neighbourhoods — a wonderful contrast to the calm of the suite itself.
We kindly ask all guests to help us maintain the peaceful, high-standard environment of this home by following a few simple rules:

A valid photo ID, email address, and phone number are required prior to check-in.

Please respect our no-party policy and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!
