The Space:

Tallarook Hilltop Tiny House 2 by Tiny Away sits on a stunning hilltop, offering sweeping southwest views over Broadford and Kilmore, plus clear sights of Mount Piper and the Tallarook State Forest to the northeast. It’s a great stop for travellers coming from NSW or workers needing easy, reliable accommodation. Nearby spots like Kilmore Piazza House, Rose Garden Cafe, and Murchison Gap Lookout are also popular with our guests.



A cozy 139-square-foot solar-powered tiny home with easy access to clean rainwater to bathe and drink. Split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include a flushed toilet, waste holding tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.



IMPORTANT NOTE: Our fence line (including the gate) to your left our boundary, and the other side belongs to our neighbour, please do not cross over. As an added note, please be advised that this retreat is powered by limited solar energy, and we highly recommend conserving power throughout your stay.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to tiny home and surrounding areas, excluding the host’s private residence and farm sheds. The following pre-order and activities are available with 24 hrs notice:



- Fishing rods and nets are also available for rent

- Fresh eggs come at an extra cost of $5 for (6) eggs

- Skeet shoots are also available for an additional fee

- Firewood comes at an extra cost of $20 for (10) pieces

- Pick-ups and drop-offs in Tallarook can be arranged with host 24 hours in advance

- Feeding the farm animals and fishing in the property's rivers may be available, but due to the unpredictable nature of farm life and seasonal conditions, guests must inquire in advance if these activities are important to their stay.



The Neighborhood:

Tallarook Hilltop Tiny House 2 by Tiny Away is located in a small town of Tallarook, just an hour's drive from Melbourne. Our farm stay is home to some of the region's top attractions, including Seven Hills Tallarook, Tallarook State Forest, Trawool Reservoir, and Mount Hickey.



If you want to explore more, you can also visit our local favourites Kilmore Piazza House, Rose Garden Cafe, and Murchison Gap Lookout.



Getting Around:

The property is located 100km from Melbourne’s CBD, which is only one hour's drive by car via the Hume Highway.



Tallarook is on the Seymour line which leaves the regional area of Southern Cross Railway Station almost hourly.



The Tallarook State Forest is approximately one hours drive North from Melbourne CBD.



Other Things to Note:

- Solar-powered/Off-grid

- No smoking allowed on the property

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Outdoor firepit is available, except total fire bans

- Please do not cross over the other side of the fence

- Please be advised that we have free-roaming dogs on site

- PA system is available for guests to rent out for an additional fee

- Expect some animal and tractor noise as we are a working farm

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



Guest Advisory:



- Please conserve energy and bring a portable power bank, as electricity may be limited on low-light days. Note that outdoor fire pits are unavailable during fire season.



Important note:



- Please avoid putting solids in the flushed toilet to avoid clogging.

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property

- The roads traveling to and from the property are suitable for 4WD vehicles due to rocky roads

- Keep in mind that there may be other guests on-site you may see and pass by them when roaming
