This was my very first rental share and Vrbo came recommended and I now will also recommend them. The website was very helpful for booking and payments as well as leading up to the trip. Jenny was super communicative and was very upfront about some potential issues with water due to some big storms that had come through the week prior to our visit. She gave me a up to the minute update right before we arrived after she had gotten all her information. It was very clear in the instructions on what we needed to do while there and then for the checkout. My only wish was that we knew that the restaurant was not open during the week as we were there Sunday-Wednesday and were hoping to check it out. Due to the weather we did not use the hot tub so we cannot comment on that. But the rest of the house was true to photos and description. My sister is in a wheelchair so her access and comfort was important and we were not disappointed. She had a blast.

We're so glad this first rental experience went smoothly, from the clear communication and check-in instructions to the home matching the photos and description. It means a lot that accessibility and comfort worked out well for your sister and that she had a great time. Thank you for sharing such thoughtful, detailed feedback. Agreed, we can add better information for our limited hours at the restaurant. Take care!

Great place to stay in a beautiful area. Easily holds a crowd of people comfortably. Jenny was a spectacular host. Quick to respond, friendly and very understanding. Would highly recommend staying at Scenic View. The restaurant is an added plus. Great food and awesome service!

Cons: The kitchen, one bedroom and bathroom flooded during a rain storm. 1/2 inch of rain wa in the kitchen and tile was like ice. You can't tell because of how the kitchen is around the corner and there was no safety mat. My sister slipped and fell hard and is still healing. When her daughter came to help she fell. Fortunately, it wasn't one of the 80 years olds at our family reunion. They need to deal with the safety issue. Even with non-slip water/hiking shoes, my husband was sliding trying to get our stuff off the floor and out of the flooded kitchen. The place was good if not for this, but they really need to fix the flooding or put not slip mats where you enter the kitchen from the living room and from the outside.

The property was nice. The internet was not sufficient, unfortunately, for all of us to be online and work. We had a few issues that the landlord assisted with.

Excellent

There were 17 people that stayed at the house, 5 different families, 9 adults and 8 children. Ages ranged from 3 months old to 65. It was a perfect set up so everyone could have their own space and bathroom. Very clean. Beautiful setting! Very pleased!

Plenty of space and beautiful view

The house has 5 areas with a bathroom where different family groups can sleep. It also has 3 refrigerators. The view of the lake and trees is beautiful and peaceful. There are some places you have to go up and down steps to get to them and three of the bedroom groupings are upstairs.

Family Reunion

We had 9 adults and 2 children under 2. It was a perfect set up for our bedroom and bathroom needs. We would have enjoyed more TV’s. Only 1 TV for the whole house. This was a damper on the stay. The host was excellent. Very easy to contact and willing to help with any problems.

The view was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and the number of rooms worked well for our family of 15, The location was good, and we really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. There were plenty of towels and 2 laundry rooms, which was nice. The only downside was that there was fresh mice poop under one of the bathroom vanities, and then, one of our daughters came face-to-face with a mouse in that same bathroom. We do understand, however, that mice are can be expected in e house in the middle of the woods. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay and made some wonderful memories!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful view, comfortable beds, and that the home’s layout worked well for your family of 15. It’s great to know the hot tub, fire pit, towels, and laundry rooms added to your comfort during your stay. We are truly sorry to hear about the issue with mice in the bathroom. We understand how unsettling that can be, and we appreciate your understanding given the home’s wooded location. We will be sure to pass your feedback along to our local team so they can address this and help prevent it in the future. Overall, we’re so glad you made wonderful memories together, and we hope to welcome you back for another great stay soon.

Doors were not locked when we arrived, the property was clean and ready, The freezer in kitchen fridge was not working and the fridge temp was 50 degrees, which caused some problems. We moved everything to the fridge outside. The hot tub was uncovered when we arrived but it was working. We enjoyed the giant dining table, made it easy for our group of 13 to gather, eat and catch up. The foliage was perfect and the sunrises were awesome! Some updates are needed with kitchen cookware and some of the mattresses. The furniture in the TV room sits and looks like pieces from a thrift shop, WELL used! Screens on windows would be nice, to facilitate some fresh air when needed. That all said, my brothers, sisters and in-laws loved the location to so many amenities. We visited Nashville, Brown Co. State Park, Yellowood State Forest and of course IU!!

Vacation of surprises

This is an interesting place. The huge table in the dining room was perfect for my family of 12 and we really enjoyed the patio area. However, we were unaware until we arrived about the shower being not usable in the main bathroom and another bedroom upstairs having non-working ceiling fans which meant no air in that room. Because of the excessive rain that week, one downstairs bedroom had soaked carpeting - which we understood that situation, But workmen kept coming into the house ( without knocking on the door) for the next 3 days to check on the fans drying the carpet. That was very uncomfortable for my family. We still got to enjoy Lake Monroe and had some fun there - it just could have been so much better.
