When I booked through VRBO, I didn’t realize that the home was taken care of by a third party management company. When we arrived after our 15 hour drive, we didn’t have any access information and it is a gated community. Our names were not on the list at the gate. I called the after hours hotline and got the access code to the door but was told I only needed my reservation to get access to the gate. That was not the case and we were denied entry. I started tearing through my emails and found a third party email in my spam. It was a contract that needed to be signed apart from the VRBO contract. Once signing, I received a QR and was able to get to the home. We walked in the door and immediately was met with a hot home. The AC was not working. I again called the after hours hotline to get a maintenance person to come service it. We slept in a hot house on the first night. I had to call again the following morning for an update and they finally sent someone. We never received check in instructions so I called again and had someone email me. Come to find out the heated pool that was advertised was only heated if you paid a fee per day and schedule that 5 days before check in. Our AC went out again on our 7th and 8th night and it was again 80 degrees in the house. I called the after hours line to have maintenance scheduled to come out. 3 out of 9 days with no working AC
