この施設について

Holy hideaway- luxurious converted church.

This is your chance to stay in a beautifully remodeled church with tons of space, character and room. The main level boast of a vast open floor plan, kitchen with bar island, master bedroom with en-suite, and lofted areas. Seven bedrooms and five full bathrooms in total provide an ample amount of sleeping space for most large groups and families. This piece of Sturgeon Bay history is easily walk-able to all the bridge and the rest of down town.

Warm up by the gas fireplace, enjoy your group at the huge dining room table, relax by the fire pit, get away from your group in the soaking tub. Sneak away to a loft and enjoy the view, read a book or just relax for a bit. Hungry? There are two full kitchens, two dining rooms and two living rooms. Master bedroom has a Murphy bed and en-suite. Main level has a handicap friendly (not ADA) shower as well as ramp entrance through the garage.

We are in the neighborhood if anything is needed.

The West Side of Sturgeon Bay was at one time known as the town of Sawyer and the two parks at the end of the street offer amazing sunrises. The church is an easy walk to some of Door County's best shopping and coffee shops and 3/4 of a mile from the Steel Bridge and the East Side of Sturgeon Bay.

Plains, trains and automobiles. Also you you can bike, walk, trolley, uber, taxi, boat and even snowmobile through the area.

Such a cool space!

We rented this place for a weekend up to Door County with friends, and it was a highlight of the trip. Lots of common space to hang out, eat, and play games. The converted church was such a neat backdrop to the weekend, would definitely recommend.

Great for large groups

This is a great rental for a large group. There was lots of room upstairs and downstairs. Very quiet and comfortable. Lots of bath rooms. A glitch in getting check in info.

Wonderful Property

This was one of the best properties we have stayed at yet. Great location! Within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Lovely space with lots of room. Lots of separate bedrooms. The two kitchens were really useful for our large group. Well equipped with everything one could need. Great communication with the host! Highly recommend staying here! Would most certainly stay here again!

Perfect home for a large family vacation.

This beautiful 125 year old church has been remodeled for a fabulous vacation. The building is old and the original character remains but there was more than enough bedrooms, bathrooms kitchen space and entertainment area's. The owners have provided everything needed to make our time there comfortable and fun. The home is located within walking distance to the bay and many antique, coffee and ice-cream shops. I was especially grateful the air conditioner kept us cool for such a large old building. I and my entire family highly recommend the "Holy Hideaway" to everyone regardless of your feelings about religions. It is very welcoming and beautifully remodeled to provide a perfect getaway.

Holy Relaxing Vaca, Batman!

I was scared I'd have to call our vacation off at the last minute as I broke my leg at the knee a few weeks before we were due to go but I communicated with the owners and they had handicap accessible ramp and I decided to go for it and it was super! We had family of all ages and I was able to wheel around the entire first level and enjoy hanging our with everyone. Loved the converted space and would definately recommend!

A unique space in a great place

Huge renovated church, tons of character, fitted out beautifully with antique furniture, great kitchen tools and accessories, even a high quality foosball table. We brought a part of nine spanning three generations and a pair of dogs, and never felt on top of each other. Most BRs have super comfy kings and there were so many bathrooms you never had to wait for anyone to get out for you to get in. Short walk to restaurants and attractions on Sturgeon Bay's east side, five minute drive (or a beautiful walk if the weather was nicer) to 3rd St/west side amenities. Hosts respond instantly to questions. And the building is lovely and historic! Hope we will be back soon!

Renovated church- wonderful details, plenty of space for all

This property was everything the owners advertised on VRBO. The home was ingenious- so many clever and appealing rooms created from a former church. Plenty of towels, good sheets, toilet paper, (nice smelling!) soap in every bathroom and kitchen, and lovely decorating details accompanied a beautiful, but not fussy, home. A real plus was the actual separation of the downstairs rooms from the upstairs rooms, so our younger (and louder) family members could be themselves with their parents without disturbing the adults who came without children. Our family loved being there. We'd like to thank the hosts as well for taking the time to create a book of excellent ideas of places to eat, visit, and how to care for the house. Our time there was pretty magical thanks to your home.

Family Getaway

We had 13 people in our group and found Holy hideaway to be a good fit for our needs. The property is spacious, and everyone had room to spread out and do their own thing and not get in one another's way while still being able to come together at the same table for meals, games, and conversation. The hosts have thought of everything. There are enough chairs for everyone to sit around the fire pit, there is wood and kindling, and there are marshmallow forks. All you need to do is bring the marshmallows! Having two kitchens turns out to be fantastic with a large group - plenty of room in the fridge for leftovers from your trips to the great restaurants in the area.

Great for big group

There were 13 family members plus 2 dogs staying at Ben and Jen’s place for a week. We had a great time. With 7 bedrooms and 5 baths everyone had their space. We cooked almost everyday and the kitchens were well stocked. The location was perfect. Easy to get anywhere by car or walking. The county has a wonderful YMCA . My children enjoyed the beaches in the city Sister Bay, and Cave Point park. Door Peninsula Winery has free tasting . All in all we had a great time! Ben was very helpful and communication was easy! 😊

Convenient spot

Nice about the 2 levels so that the young families could stay downstairs & have their own space. Liked having 2 kitchens but the upstairs kitchen could have lighting put under the cabinets by the sink area. Because it was a church lot I expected to have a paved lot & was hoping to set up a pickleball net that I brought. Terri

AWESOME property and within walking distance of lots of neat stuff. Easy driving distance to all kinds of sights. Clean and owners even dropped off treats for our family.

Outstanding place to stay for a large group.

Ben and Jen are great hosts. Place is very clean and recently renovated. Plenty of space and well stocked kitchens. 2 Full refrigerators really help with a large group. Close to downtown. Garage was great to store bicycles.

Unique and Beautiful

This property is really special. The interior of the church is spacious and open for families, but offers a number of rooms for privacy. The interior is impeccably designed. Location has access to everything you need and everywhere you need to be. Property owners were available but not at all obtrusive. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

This house is unlike most anything else you will find in the area. Great, parking, open spaces, plenty of bathrooms and character. All of this located just a short walk to downtown Sturgeon Bay.
