Post and beam old wood construction with fireplace on each floor. 1070 elevation, one of highest points in Illinois!. Access to 300 acres of trail, ponds fields, llamas, horses cattle, fresh chicken eggs. Has extra kitchenette on lower floor. Large hot tub holds 6. Access to Galena territory owners club with fitness center, gym and outdoor and indoor pools.

Beautiful place with lots of space. Really well stocked with little extras like shampoo and extra towels. Hot tub was awesome! Surrounding area had lots to do. My family loved it!

Fish Tale House

The Fish Tale House in Elizabeth, Illinois is spectacular, with beautiful views and great space for both dining and sitting around enjoying the company. We were on a girls trip and we call ourselves The Ten, as all 10 of us have been friends since high school and some before that as well. Check-in was super easy with the caretaker Joe. The kitchen was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for the meals we prepared. We would definitely go back again!

Great House and Property

There celebrating my 50th birthday. The house was fantastic and the hot tub was a huge hit. Location was great, just 20 minutes from Galena.The views were outstanding also.

We enjoyed the quiet, the territorial views, the stars, the fireplace, the hot tub, and visiting the animals down on the farm. Looking forward to a return visit!

Family vacation

Good family time of relaxing, catching up with each other, and playing games, and checking out Galena, Elizabeth and doing the alpine slide and Soaring Eagle. Enjoyed the country setting.

Thanks for staying with us. Our Ranch hand Joe shared what a special group of ladies you are/were. This "response" and at 3:12 in the am, is ironic. I am sorry that a dead mouse was found in this ranch house. Our ranch hand Joe said he spent a lot of time you all, when you arrived, and removed it. Soon after you left, we did a scheduled deep clean. It appeared you all had a very jolly time. Peace

Beautiful Views

Property was so comfortable with incredible views. We enjoyed the views from the dining room, the deck and the hot tub! The weather was good enough to even enjoy some cowboy golf. We were also able to some hiking and see the animals. Can't say enough about the ranch/hand peoperty manager who was so helpful with all our questions.James and Amy

Beautiful property in Galena

The house was perfect for our family with 2 grandkids and dogs with us. The space was great and hot tub was amazing with the view. The owners were so nice and communication was excellent. The grandkids loved going for walks on the property and seeing the animals. Would definitely recommend

Amazing home with views for days!

Our family enjoyed a weekend of relaxation and made some fun memories! House was perfect for large groups. We were greeted upon arrival and host was very responsive during the booking process. We are already looking to come back this summer! Thank you !

Lovely get away

The days we were there were very cold and wintery. We didn’t even leave the property as we were so content. Very much enjoyed the large sunny windows overlooking the snowy hills. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Loved the hot tub and the ping pong. A wonderful quiet restorative and fun get away!

Octagon house

We stayed in the octagon house and had a great time with family. We explored Elizabeth for the first time and went to E-town coffee shop, Highway 21 brewery and sat outside listening to live music, went to three sisters sweet shop for ice cream, and old time saloon for burgers and drinks. the house is in a great location to explore the amazing little town of Elizabeth as well as main street in Galena.

Wonderful property!

This place made for a perfect pandemic getaway weekend from the city! Our group of 9 friends (late 20s/early 30s) had a great time. The house is spacious and the deck and views are gorgeous. The larger property is really pretty and fun to walk around. The owner and manager are very friendly. Kitchen is well equipped overall, just missing basic sheet/baking pans for the oven.

What a view!

All 10 of us had a blast in "The Territories". So much to see and do in the area. The rec. center was first class, and the view off the deck in the evening at sunset is sublime. Even our 6 year old was impressed. Galena is fun, with lots of restaurants and historic sites. Alpine slide and the goat walk were very popular also. Our group is already planning for next year.

Lovely Family Trip

The Octagon house was a spacious retreat for my family getaway. We loved the swim passes to the Galena Territory Pool. Joe meeting us upon arrival and giving a tour of the ranch was also amazing. The only complaint would be the broken dishwasher top shelf and the limited silverware and hot pads in the kitchen. There were 12 of us and we cooked a lot! The 20 minute drive into Galena was gorgeous and we enjoyed all the shopping the food in town. Great weekend getaway was had by all!

So glad you enjoyed the house and all the ranch and neighboring areas had to offer. Guest seem to be hard on the dishwasher racks. We have the new roller. And many guest toss silverware and/or move it to others houses on ranch if they rent more than one house.....so we frequently have to re-supply.

Family Weekend Getaway

We had a large family getaway here in October & had a great time. The house could probably use some updating but it served our purposes perfectly. It was warm and cozy. The tenants right before us did some damage so things were still getting repaired as we arrived but I think everything was addressed. The best part of the stay though was the land with all the animals And Joe, the ranch hand. He was amazing. Anything that came up, he handled. He asked about our plans and gave us some tips and tricks to avoid traffic. All around really nice guy and was such a great guide for the property and surrounding area. Thanks, Joe!

Good for a large group

Nice property in a beautiful setting. A couple of the items that were supposed to be available were not, but Joe got them for us. Dishwasher top rack needs to be repaired/replaced. Need a supply of knives in the cutlery drawer. Otherwise, the accommodations were fine. Had some noisy neighbors one night, but otherwise it was a peaceful retreat.

So apparently Joe got you the items that weren't available? I will talk to him and find out what went down. We will definitely have to get the new roller for the top rack of the dishwasher replaced when the part finally gets here. We will hunt down the missing knives.....probably at the neighboring house or party barn? Glad you had a great time enjoying all the ranch has to offer, including the view, ponds, trails, golf course, ball fields, hot tub and owners club amenities etc....and how about that 2000 square foot deck? Nice house, rude owner

We rented this for a long weekend because of the number of bedrooms. The owner tried to change our reservation to a smaller house and became very rude when we insisted on the original reservation. The house itself was lovely and we enjoyed the weekend, however there was no information provided at the house. Usually there is a binder of information and local attractions, but there was nothing. We had to hunt to even find the keys. The listing is misleading.

First of all, we are glad you liked the house (and the property?) and enjoyed your weekend. I am kind of confused by your review and comments. I offered you an upgrade to a much larger house with the same amount of bedrooms, but had five full bathrooms and was just recently remodeled with a new kitchen etc. It had a nice hottub in a screened in porch attached to the house etc....Perhaps if it seems to good to be true one can get suspicious. Anyway you (your group) seemed to want your privacy.. We usually meet people when they check in and go over the protocol and provide an orientation to the house and the 300 acre property. A meeting time was never set up. Again, sorry for trying to put you into a large and better house. Peace, Mark
