Get away from the city and relax at this beautiful home on the shores of lake Koshkonong. This large home has room for the whole family and a wall of glass windows overlooking the lake. Bring your boat or rent one on the lake and relax and enjoy.

Lake Koshkonong is less than two hours north of Chicago O'hare. This home we like to call Olson Bay Getaway, has it all from granite counter tops and a fully stocked kitchen to new comfy beds and amazing views of the lake. The shoreline is sandy and excellent for swimming with a gradual drop off that is perfect for younger kids to play in.

The home features the following bedroom configuration:
1st Floor 1 Queen Bed with Attached Bath
2nd Floor 1 Queen Bed room with water view and attached bath
2nd Floor 1 Queen Bed with Attached Jack and Jill Bathroom
2nd Floor 1 Bunk Room with Futon and two bunk beds also Attached to Jack and Jill Bathroom

The home has a great open concept so you can cook and eat dinner while taking in the lake views.

A gas grill that is attached to the house gas (Never run out of propane) is also provided on the spacious deck so you can cook and eat outside as well. There is an extra refrigerator to help cool all the yummy groceries you will bring during your stay.

Lake Koshkonong is a 10,000 acre lake in Southern Wisconsin with lots to do and see. Apart from the great fishing and boating opportunities, there are several restaurants on the lake that you can boat to or drive to as well as winery tours in the area and great shopping. Kosh also boasts some of the best fishing in the Southern part of the state. The lake also attaches to the rock river so you can boat all the way up to the Indianford dam and view the scenery and amazing houses along this stretch of river.

The home also features a beautiful fire pit by the lakefront and Adirondack chairs to sit around the fire as well as a large yard for games and family activities.

The rental includes a private dock to tie your boat up to during your stay.

Overall, the home and location is great. Plenty of space for larger groups inside and out. It's near perfect. If not for the circumstances of our experience, we would rent it again. Unfortunately, there was a progressing fly and wasp issue in the home that was not ideal, especially while traveling with our toddler, which caused us to leave a day early and notify the owner. To my fault, I did not provide management an opportunity to remedy the issue during our short stay before we left, but we couldn't foresee any immediate noninvasive intervention the owner could provide, so we choose to leave hoping the owner would be understanding and hopefully provide a partial refund for the trouble. Im an outdoors person who has done a notable amount of backpacking in much more deciduous places than the "Northwoods" of Lake Koshkonong, including 72 miles on the Appalachian trail. Im no stranger to insects, but the owner downplayed the fly and wasp issue saying, "Our cleaning team inspected the home prior to your arrival and did not note any unusual conditions. After your departure we inspected again and did not find evidence of an infestation, other than a couple of flies, which is not uncommon in the Northwoods." I've never asked for a refund from a host prior to this incident. This was the first time and I believe the owner could have been more understanding and reasonable in providing even a small good will gesture amount as a refund.

It was a lovely property for family to gather and enjoy time together on the large deck and the fire pit. Nice large kitchen for the family and place was well equipped.

Beautiful home. Our family loved it and will definately go again! It was our first time ever renting and the management company was very kind and helpful during our stay. The beds were so comfortable. The view is amazing. The kids thought they won the lottery with the bunkbeds. We would definately love to come back.

Beautiful View

This place is large and spread out. The beds are very comfortable. The view from the living room is lovely, but there is no view from any of the bedrooms. There is plenty of room to relax and entertain in the living room, dining room and kitchen The back porch is also very comfortable and it's a short walk to the lake. The smoke alarm went off while we were there because the battery was low. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Family had fun

This is a beautiful location. Very spacious rooms. This should be an exceptional property and possibly was at one time. But it was not clean and could use some TLC. We did some cleani ng ourselves and were able to enjoy time together

Pictures are deceiving

I should have known things wouldn’t be what we expected paying $3,500 for 4 nights. First of all, we were supposed to bring our own towels for bathing. Never had that before when staying at a VRBO. The property manager was nice enough to provide some towels for us, so I thought there was hope. We got to the property and it was not clean & definitely didn’t impress. My niece got there before us and warned us not to take off our shoes. She had been there a hour before us and her feet were black from dirty floors. We still decided to let it slide since they were so gracious with the towels. My niece brought her Firestick, so that’s how we watched TV the prior 3 days. Sunday, she left with the Firestick and from that point on, we had no live TV. When we were able to get the TV on through various apps, it would shut off after 5 mins. After all this and NO response from management, I will tell you, this property was filthy. We placed 3 different calls and heard nothing back! I have photos of spiderwebs and spiders living all over the inside of this home. Couldn’t use the chairs by fire pit, since they were covered in webs and spiders. The railing upstairs is so loose, my mom went upstairs to see the beautiful view and the entire railing wobbles! The final straw, no response in 24 hours. Both my husband and my self we bit by who knows what the last night there. When we stripped the bed, my pillow was stained yellow and disgusting ! We left today with no call backs!

Family Get Together

This house is very spacious and worked well for our family of 10. The views of the lake are wonderful. We had a great time. Unfortunately the dock was under water due to the tremendous amount of rain they have received. Loved seeing the wildlife.

Our Family Vacation

Overall the property was exactly what we read about when we booked the property. Great location, clean, about 10 minutes to get groceries, etc. One suggestion: The frig in the kitchen several of the drawers to store fruit, veggies, lunch meat, etc did not slide open and close easy. It almost felt if we pushed them to hard, we would break them.

Great Place for a Family Thanksgiving

What a lovely home! We had sunshine and crisp weather to watch the geese and ducks on the water. Had planned to grill our turkey on the Weber but could only get one burner to light. We were able to roast the turkey in the oven and keep it warm while we finished heating the sides. All was good. The kitchen is generally very well appointed. Thank you for sharing!

Big house on the lake

Plenty of room in this home on the lake. We had beds to spare! Nice big kitchen and living area, nice backyard overlooking the lake. Washer and dryer were usable, but pretty worn out. Appreciated the extra refrigerator in the laundry room. Only downside is there's not much to see or do in the area.

Excellent property

Get place to stay! Extremely well stocked kitchen and well maintained! It is managed by a management company which confused me. I was waiting for the check in information from Vrbo but it came from the cabin management company, which confused me. NO towels which also struck me as odd. It was detailed in the email from the management company…which I didn’t read until we were on our way there. I have not stayed at a property without towels- so, did find that odd. Just listing out these few things as a highlight to others. Acknowledging that the information was provided to me…just missed the communication since it didn’t come from Vrbo. The house was truly amazing! We rented a boat for the day and we utilized the dock. We will definitely stay again!!

Perfect Lake Getaway

The house was perfect for our family and friends getaway. The teens enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs bedrooms. We loved the kitchen with the large island and dining table. The lake was just a few steps away and we enjoyed easy access and the sandy bottom. We will definitely return.

The cabin was the perfect spot for our group of 5. We were in Wisconsin for a wedding and the cabin put us close to the wedding venue. The bedroom’s and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for our group to congregate comfortably. We all enjoyed relaxing on the shore of Lake Koshkonong. Thank you.

Fourth of July Stay

Staying at Jon’s house was very convenient. My husband and I got married the same weekend we rented. We came back with our friends and family to stay on the lake. The house was big which was nice for all of us. There’s everything you need in the kitchen from pots, pans, silverware, dishes, plastic containers, etc. The bathrooms were very clean. Under the couches and some floor spaces were not cleaned. I had to vacuum a little when we first arrived, I do wish there was a better vacuum for guests to use. The tile floor in the kitchen was also hard to clean. The backyard is HUGE! We got to dock our boat right up to the nice pier. Jon was very easy to communicate with. We appreciated our time here to celebrate our marriage! It was a perfect weekend.
