My sister and I had an amazing stay at the University House in Newberg when we visited for my niece’s wedding. There was ample space for the two of us and our adult daughters. The house is decorated beautifully, and Leigh has thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location is ideal for a stroll downtown for coffee or shopping or a nature walk through George Fox. The house is steeped in history and felt like home. Highly recommend!

Our stay was top notch. This house is unique and amazing! It was like a museum stepping back in time with comfort and convenience. Leigh is extremely communicative and flexible and accommodated our needs. The house is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and cafes. Highly recommend!

We have stayed in VRBOs all over the world and we have rarely found one as comfortable as Leigh’s house. She gave us a quick orientation whenever we arrived and the house was just charming. A well supplied kitchen, extra pillows if needed and a great location. We definitely want to come back!

Leah was an amazing host and gave us detailed information about the house and surrounding area. We felt so comfortable and really enjoyed the hot tub. The location was close to everything and we went to several of Leah's favorite wineries...perfect stay!

Beautiful 3-bedroom house was perfect for old friends who enjoyed walking to cafes, wine-tasting, watching a movie. Check-in and out were super easy. Hot tub was a bonus. Plus stars on a bedroom ceiling. So close to Portland but feels miles away for relaxing and refreshing.

Wow! What a property. This is beautiful house with all of the amenities we could have wanted. The location in Newberg is accessible and nearby to grocery stores and restaurants. The entire home is like a step back in time in terms of the architecture and furnishings. All while providing the modern comforts such as internet access and streaming services we have grown accustomed.Leigh is a gracious, informative and responsive host.

Lovely home, great location.

I'd be happy to stay here again. Loved the beautiful furnishings, very comfortable and the bonus of a spa made our ladies get away extra special. Close to town, but away from noisy streets. The University just across the street provides numerous walking paths through some beautiful landscape.

Lovely Home

Leigh the host was awesome, very welcoming. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and wine tasting. Beautiful home inside and out. Full of character and all the essentials. Special touches with fresh cut flowers, tons of literature for exploring the area, and all the amenities.

Absolutely perfect

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home while attending our 40th high school reunion with three lifelong friends. The location was perfect — a very walkable distance into town, which made it easy to explore and enjoy everything the area had to offer. Communication with our host, Leigh, was excellent from start to finish. She was incredibly responsive and provided helpful recommendations for local restaurants and things to do, which made our visit even more enjoyable.The house itself was full of charm and had plenty of space for all four of us to spread out and relax. We especially appreciated the ample and safe parking. The outdoor seating area was lovely and the hot tub was a relaxing bonus after our busy day. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Great location. Beautiful house! More than sufficient amenities. I was wishing I had packed along my aromatherapy rice bag to pop into the microwave and, lo and behold ... I happened to find one in a cabinet! Leigh has thought of so many conveniences. Best VRBO we have stayed at!

I have always loved the historic buildings and close knit neighborhoods in this northern part of Newberg. Many years ago, I was delighted to jump at the opportunity when I saw a realtor installing a 'For Sale' sign on the property that would become U House. I've restored four houses in this part of town, nurturing them from various states of disrepair into beautiful homes. My love of antiques shows throughout the house, as many of the furnishings are family heirlooms. In my forty years of living in the Willamette Valley, I continue to be amazed at the astonishing variety available here. Downtown Newberg is full of character with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere. The mid-valley area is so spectacular in its geography, recreational choices, abundant wildlife, agricultural diversity and artistic community, yet also close to town and city environments. I enjoy being able to go from valley to mountain to desert in a few hours to the East, or West through the Coast Range to some of the most stunning coastline to be found anywhere. Allow us to introduce you to this unique part of the world, or assist you in deepening your own appreciation of what our area has to offer. Welcome to the U House...your home away from home while visiting Yamhill County.
