The area of Quercy-Périgord boasts many rich heritage sites worth a visit. The castles at Castelnau, Bretenoux and Montal are well worth a visit. Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is a medieaval city and it is also known as the Riviera of the Limousin, due to its warm climate and Mediterranean type vegetation. While visiting the rich heritage of the area, you might like to discover new gastronomic delights and the many local markets. An easy drive away are the medieval villages of Collonges-la-Rouge, Turenne, Curemonte, Loubresac and Martel. A bit further away, you have Souillac, which is the gateway to the winegrowing area, further south, of which Cahors is the capital.
