The Cedar Suite

Located just at at the edge of the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
We are only a 35 minute scenic drive from the TOWNSITE of Jasper, and 15min drive to the town of Hinton.
Enjoy local food and beer at Folding Mountain Brewing, just a 5min walk from our suite. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, with many hiking/waking trails close by.
Newly renovated suite with 2 bedrms (queen beds), bathrm, kitchenette, and 2 spacious living area (with sofa bed).

This brand new 700 sq.ft. BASEMENT suite is nestled in our quaint little village of only 30 homes. A private entrance is located at the back of the house (stairs up to the door), which brings you to a set of stairs down to the entrance to this cozy suite.

Guests have access to private suite, entry way, driveway, and BBQ (on patio).
Backyard is for homeowner use.

Please feel free to use the BBQ in the patio, it is natural gas.
You can leave your recycling in the black bins on the patio, but please leave garbage in the suite.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Cedar Suite. It was extremely clean, bright and welcoming!! Amy provided many little extras that made our stay wonderful...our home away from home.

Good location just outside Jasper National park. We had everything we needed and the property was exactly as listed. The beds were comfy and we appreciated being able to walk to the folding mountain brewery for a meal each night after long days in the park.

Everything was great, rooms clean orderly and quiet. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed.while it was a downstairs unit with family upstairs it was still quiet. Great stay, would recommend!

Beautiful Folding Mountain

This basement suite was clean, comfortable for 2 couples and in a place that was easily accessible from Jasper. We enjoyed the short walk to Folding Mountain Brewery for dinner and beer. Highly recommend.

This basement condo was well appointed and private even though its in the basement. It had everything we needed for our short stay of 2 nights. The bed was comfortable, place was very clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Only downfall was it being about 40 minutes from the town of Jasper. We enjoyed our stay.

Great place

We really enjoyed our stay at this location. It was clean and comfortable after long days of hiking and sightseeing. Even though it just has a kitchenette we found it to be very functional and the induction cooktop met our cooking needs. The area is beautiful and we also enjoyed a meal and craft beer at Folding Mountain Brewery which is within walking distance. We highly recommend staying here. Amy is an excellent host!

Only thing we did find confusing was the address . The post code took us way off . Minor thing though . The host ‘s communication helping direct us back was brilliant. Very picturesque setting . I would 100% recommend

Pros: Convenient location for exploring the region.Cons – Property Layout & Safety Details:Prospective guests should be aware of specific structural details before booking:Shared Entrance: The basement suite shares a rear foyer and upper stairwell with the primary residence. Upper occupants pass through the shared foyer to access the backyard, so the unit is not fully private.Egress Limitations: The bedroom egress window sill is approximately 5 feet off the floor (eye-level), making emergency exit without assistance difficult.Fire Safety & Ventilation: Interior doors connecting to the upper house are standard hollow-core doors without fire separation. No fire extinguisher was provided. The kitchen lacks a dedicated exhaust fan, and climate control is shared with the main house.Summary:Due to the shared entry, egress limitations, and fire separation issues, VRBO Support was contacted during our stay. Following a safety review, VRBO relocated us to alternative commercial hotel accommodations and issued a full refund. Guests with mobility constraints or specific safety requirements should evaluate these structural details carefully.

Great unit with everything you need

Unit feels newly renovated, with nice new furniture and fixtures. In addition to the essentials, they've also supplied board games and video games, in case the surrounding nature isn't enough.

Cute little apartment - The Cedar suite

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the Cedar Suite outside of the east gate to Jasper National Park. The suite was well maintained and very comfortable, perfect for what we needed. We loved that the brewery was just a short walk down the road and hung out there most nights - great food and live music on friday. It is a basement suite but you have access to the patio so we were still able to enjoy the outdoors.

A Good Spot for Sleeping

Clean and roomier overall than what we expected as there's a second living room (with a pullout bed) and TV. Bathroom is new and good water pressure (+ very hot water). Good WiFi, too. Bedrooms are small and mattresses a little soft. We didnt use the back deck but it looked great, as did the grill. A three-minute drive from a gem of a brew pub.

Well equipped apartment near fantastic brewery

Apartment had everything we needed. A little further out of Jasper but we felt was well worth it in terms of cost v benefit - accommodation in town seemed really overpriced for the standard. Huge benefit was having the brewery at the end of the road - we went there every night. Hosts very easy to communicate with. Apartment itself was really well stocked with additional treats that we really appreciated. Would recommend to others!

It is fine for a short stay. Kitchen is limited for cooking, just 2 burner hot plate on counter, small microwave and no dishwasher. It is a basement apt with considerable noise from people walking around upstairs. Small children running around and up/down stairs. This was during the day and not later than 8:30 or so in the evenings so we ignored it and didn’t bother the owners during our 3 night stay.

Cedar Suite - Sept 5 to 7

We stayed for 2 nights. Everything in the apartment was as advertised. It is very close to the East Gate of Jasper National Park which was unfortunately closed during our stay due to wildfires. The host Amy was very helpful in addressing all our questions on what is open and what to see etc with all the closures. Since the family lives upstairs, we could hear the footsteps when they were walking about but they were very considerate to keep it quiet after 11PM. Would recommend this to others.
