Flint river cottage is far enough out to give you that tranquil country feel, yet close enough (15 minutes or so) to allow access to shopping, dining and wineries. Situated on 34 scenic hill country acres with 462 ft of river frontage on the Pedernales river makes this cozy retreat the ideal getaway. Four bedrooms and two baths, a beautifully remodeled kitchen, and spacious living area complete with a beautiful wood burning fireplace are just a few of the features that this elegant cottage has to offer. While the interior of the cottage is a dream, the outdoor living space is a dream come true! Relax by the lavish outdoor rock fireplace while preparing the perfect meal on the gourmet built-in propane grill. Plenty of seating allows for a group to gather, relax and recall memories from the past! Flint River Cottage will be your repeat destination in Fredericksburg! ​​​​​​​
Mimi's Haus is the newest addition to Flint River! To ensure your solitude, we allow only one house to be booked at a time, or book both Flint River Cottage and Mimi's Haus at Flint River Whole Property for a most memorable family reunion or group gathering!

Beautiful Home and Great Amenities!

This is a beautiful, cozy home with four nice sized bedrooms, living area, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and there were lots of spices and cooking utensils. We grilled out one night and enjoyed the beautiful patio. It's a 20 minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg and so nice to get out into the country and be surrounded by deer, other wildlife, and a very mournful steer. I highly recommend this home and I'm grateful that my friends and I were able to take advantage of it.

In the Country

Very clean and well equipped home in the country !! Such a quiet and peaceful area with animals nearby!! It is an older home but it is in good condition and very comfy. The trees, large outdoor fireplace, hot tub and large porch really made this place so pleasant. Great place to stay and enjoy peacefulness!!!

We had a wondeful galentines trip thisbyear. There were 5 ladies ahring this space and it was perfect. The outside fireplace was beautiful to gather around. It isna well sticked cottage with all the amenities.

Amazing place to stay!

We stayed here with our children and everyone enjoyed it. It is peaceful and beautiful. There were lots of birds, deer and rabbits (outside the fence ) and plenty of room to walk around. The hot tub was perfect too.

Relaxing Spring Break

Our family chose to do a relaxing Spring Break in Hill Country this year. We loved the property and had a great time. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful, the kids liked seeing the animals outside and the backyard was a peaceful place to read and relax.

This place was absolutely amazing! I was leery that there were so many good reviews, but they were right!! The space was perfect for our littleChristmas getaway. We spent soo many hours on the patio enjoying the massive trees, wildlife, and outdoor fireplace. We will absolutely be back, I have no complaints- except that we had to leave!

Nice Getaway!

The home was perfect, charming and the best part, out of the city! A short 15 mile drive to downtown Fredericksburg but felt miles away. There were so many gorgeous live oak trees, cattle, wild turkey and the beautiful Texas sky any night can’t be beat! We will definitely come back again soon!

The perfect getaway

This house was so relaxing and perfect for a group of friends to unwind and reconnect. The star watching was amazing and we saw shooting stars. The beauty of this place was so peaceful and quiet. We will definitely come back again!

Nice getaway in the Hill Country

This house is located about 20 minutes outside of downtown Fredericksburg, which made for a peaceful secluded getaway that was still close enough to the the shops, restaurants and wineries. Very comfortable beds, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and all of the basic supplies were provided.

Perfect Getaway

3 couples away from the hustle and bustle of work and home. Updated kitchen was just as described and had all the comforts and needs of home. Outdoor space from hot tub to outdoor fireplace all used. Great place to relax and tell stories with friends . Can’t say enough. We loved our stay here.

Peaceful getaway

First we will start by saying the cottage is clean and well maintained! What you see is what you get! Linens smelled fresh and beds are comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed ! We took our parents for their anniversary/ Thanksgiving getaway. Perfect accommodations for all of us . We used the fireplaces , indoor and outdoor. Star gazed too! Loved how the cows and turkeys greeted us everyday. We will be back to enjoy this slice of heaven soon !

Rural oasis

We enjoyed the great views from the living area and porch - with a feeder situated to bring in the turkey and deer. Happy hours on the porch were great, even when it rained. We enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and walks down the country road. The extra fans and cozy throws in the home were nice to have since the weather was weird and our group was wildly divergent on their comfort preferences. Very pleased with our stay!

Great Country Get Away

We have booked this place twice, and both times we really enoyed it. It's really nice to feel like you are away from everything busy, but still a few minutes away from Fredericksburg and all the shopping and site seeing. I would highly recommend stepping out at night and doing some star gazing, it's definitely a site to behold. You might want to make sure you have house shoes, though. If youre out in the Texas country, you're likely to run into some little critters. Just keep your bananas peeled and watch where youre stepping. Great place to relax and recharge.

Hi there, we really enjoyed our stay. I just wanted to offer some feedback as someone who travels often. Might I suggest that you spot check your housekeeper. The general areas were clean however there is a definite lack of deep cleaning. The ceiling fans were dusty as were the baseboards and even the lamps drawers and paneling on the doors. There is also a water stoppage in the second bathroom in the part of the house that has been renovated. It's a lovely cottage and very nicely decorated. We appreciate the amenities as well. God bless!

Ranch experience

First, know that it is really really far from town. It takes more than the time in the description to get to the ranch, so it isn’t convenient to actually doing things in town… and by the number of hit deer on the road- I wouldn’t want to drive it at night. That said, once you get there, it is a true Texas ranch experience. Cows, deer, wild turkey… big porch and just fine accommodations. The hot-tub is huge and fantastic- and you can see all of the stars!!! Be warned, though- the pictures show privacy, but there is another house directly behind the hot tub (not shown in the pictures). So, if you are expecting complete privacy- you will not have it… but, they weren’t intrusive, except during the day when it is a working ranch with people doing ranch work. You do have to drive off road, and if it ever rains again (drought, as of this stay), you will need a vehicle with some ground clearance- to get over the river bridge. King beds were comfy and plenty of everything you need in the kitchen, etc. Outdoor fireplace looks great for the winter (burn ban, currently). Highly recommended, but you need to be aware that it is a destination lodge…… and since they don’t send you directions until about 30 minutes until check in (my one complaint), you need to be aware of that and that you probably will not have cell service at the house.

Magical

This house is utterly magical. As soon as you drive down the driveway, cross over the river, see the vastness of the land, see the deer running past us, and see Turkey happily grazing, you are introduced to this amazing house. The house is, magical. The quaintness of the house and the property will exceed your imagination. The cleanliness of the house is outstanding. The house has everything you need to cook. We loved every single MINUTE of our stay. I would have loved to have met the owners to tell them how appreciative we were to stay there. We walked all over the property, we enjoyed the outside so much. Don't pass on this one - it will not be a disappointment.

Girls Weekend

This is a great place to stay. It’s far enough away from town to enjoy the quiet but close enough to town for shopping, eating, etc. We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors due to the cold and rainy weather but look forward to going back at a future date and spend some time outside.
