The Governor’s House

A beautiful 5 bedroom historical house built in 1913 for Roy and Ellen Ayers. Mr Ayers was the Governor of Montana from 1937-1941. It is in the historical district called the “Courthouse District”.
3 large bedrooms are upstairs with one bath and 2 bedrooms are on the main floor with 2 baths. The main floor has a large living room, dining room, kitchen, game room and office.
We have security cameras on the exterior of the house. They are disarmed when guests are there, unless we see there is an issue (sneaking a pet in, too many people, destructive behavior, etc).

4 old college buddies who get together for a couple days of golf in a different Montana town each summer. The Governor's House was the perfect place to stay in Lewistown. It reminded us of a house we rented near downtown Bozeman in the late 1960s and early 1970's. Lots of charm!! We cooked dinner on night and found everything we needed was available in the kitchen to produce our meal. The beds and bathrooms (3) were great and we each had our own spacious bedroom! Thanks!!

We had a wonderful time visiting family. The front porch was the perfect place to catch up with everyone. Lewistown is a wonderful place to visit. We hope to come back again someday.

Our kids ranged from 1-15 and they all loved it here. I fact our littles still are talking about it and how fun it was.Highly recommend. The property manager was super easy to work with.

Cousins trip

Our stay was fantastic. The kitchen was more than adequate to cook or bake. The coffee was great. All the towels were nice and fluffy. We used the washer and dryer. The blow driers were full sized so you can leave yours at home. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to using this property in the future.

Great history and perfect location!

The house was perfect for our visit to Lewistown for a family wedding! It accommodated our family and we enjoyed spending time on the front porch and appreciated the documentation providing the history of the house. The only downfall was not enough toiletries and garbage bags for our larger group. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect for Bridesmaids

This home was so perfect for you daughter and her bridesmiads to stay and get ready for her wedding! Photographer even took beautiful first look photos in the house. Derree was extremely easy to work with.

Lovely home

The house has so much charm and space! Everyone had room to stretch out and relax. The house is in a great location, quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Even saw the northern lights one night from right outside. So cool! Host communication was great, helpful and so kind. We’ll be staying here again!! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

Heavenly Historic Home

Wonderful property for families or friends wanting a getaway in a very “homey” location! Loved this place for a three couple visit for Lewistown’s Centerfest Music Festival.

We are 5th generation Montanans, born and raised in central Montana. Greg is a building contract and Derree is retired from working at the Jr High. We enjoy being with our large family and recreating at the beach and lakes.
We have restored several historic houses in our area. The Governors house is special to us because we owned it 31 years ago and were fortunate to buy it again in 2020. Eventually, when we move to town, it will be our family home. Until then we love to share it with others.
