The Sleepy Canoe is a great getaway located right on the Rogue River with fabulous views. This is a perfect location is half way between Ashland and Grants Pass, Oregon on the Rogue River, and only 15 minutes from the Medford Airport. Enjoy fishing, cycling, wine tasting and rafting the best rapids on the Rogue River. Sleeps and feeds 14 people and has a private fishing area at the bottom of the trail below the house. Enjoy this special one-of-a-kind escape. The house is brand new and ready for you! No parties w COVID-19 regs.

Any more than 4 guests, we charge 30 dollars each per night due to extra bed usage and amenities used.

No cats allowed.

Clean, Comfortable & Relaxing

Our stay at the Sleepy Canoe was perfect. The home and grounds were very clean and charming. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with new appliances, dishes, glasses and cookware. (not the typical random garage sale stock you find at some rentals) The outside space had lots of areas to relax and take in the beautiful river rushing past. The hosts were very available and warmly welcomed us. There was very little road noise over the sound of the river. We will definitely be back.

Accommodations

The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 was that there wasn't enough seating in the living area to accommodate 8 of us. The furniture there was uncomfortable and needed to be replaced.

Incredible craftsmanship

Went to Gold Hills for a ‘framily” memorial service. The house was better than the pictures but the entertainment deck space was the cherry on top. Incredible! Very comfortable house with comfortable bedrooms and plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked and the accomations for pets was very welcoming. I will surely stay again but for longer in order to just have some downtime by the river!

Wofpac outing

This was by far one of our best stays. The house has plenty of room, was clean and fitted our needs beautifully. Our only complaint was unable to find a cookie sheet, so you see that is not a real issue. It is a beautiful setting, and the outdoor patios are very nice. We were not able to take advantage due to weather and it being accessed by steep stairs and inclines. I

Home away from home

Our visit was amazing. Our weekend getaway at this tucked away location was in the perfect location for our time away from home. It was located center ally to our destinations and was such a great fit. Easy to deal with renters and they were very responsive! We can’t wait to book again!

We had a lovely stay at the Sleepy Canoe! We came for a girls trip to visit the wineries in Jacksonville. Plenty of room, amenities and beautiful river views!

It's about the river

The house is clean and well appointed for your stay, with nice outdoor furniture, hot tub, fire pit, etc. The highway traffic noise was more than we expected and was really unfortunate given the beautiful Rogue River location.

Lovely river respite in Gold Hill

The home (and its sister property next door) was clean, quaint and charming! Well-maintained and as advertised. Wendi was highly responsive and incredibly helpful with all our questions and logiatical needs. Would definitely recommend this property!

Great Place to Stay

We had a fantastic visit. The house was clean and comfortable, but nothing beats the fantastic outdoor living area! We just loved the deck and appreciated the fabulous outdoor seating.

Girls Getaway

My girlfriends and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. The house is very nice and had plenty to of room for the 9 of us. The hot tub and outdoor seating was a favorite for us. Very nice view of the river. The power went out and the flashlight’s batteries were dead. I went to the market and bought some. The property manager said he’d make sure I was reimbursed. He was very apologetic. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing getaway.

Very gorgeous location but not welcoming

This house is nice but not special. I booked for a special night with my friend, the bride to be, the host was kind enough to let us decorate for the occasion as long as we took everything with us. While this house sleeps 10 people (4 queen size beds and 1 king) for every person past 4 i was charged $30 and the cleaning fee was $160. With all these charges i was hoping for a relaxing stay but for only 21hrs we had to take out there trash (the recycling which was filled to the brim when we arrived), Be careful of what towels we could and could not use, wash all of our dish and have them ready to be put away, sweep the floors, and strip our own beds. While i have no issue cleaning up after myself and obviously respecting anothers home spending half a grand for only 21hrs and no amenities felt excessive. The morning we were there. Lots of random work men were in the shed (which was literally under the house) blocked us for breakfast by the river. Finally the outside was just a mess. The table and chairs were caked in dirt there were giant spider webs everywhere the deck had not been sweeped nor the area around the hot tub. All in all its a beautiful home but i did not see where all the maintenance fees went. The cost did not show in the quality and my stress was simply to high to even enjoy the trip. If you're spending over 500 for a place i suggest a lodge or another house rental around the area i had much better experiences there.

Beautiful Riverfront location

Beautiful location especially the outside deck area. The home was nicely decorated and comfortable. The house could have been cleaner, one of the bathrooms had obvious skid marks in the toilet bowl and poo on the bidet and on the floor. Other than that the house and location was nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect home and amenities!

This home is a step above! It has all the amenities you need. There is a hot tub in the back. Ping pong table and foos ball table. Beautiful flowing river behind the property. Clear enough room for a family of 7. We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend this home.

Amazing scenic home on water w all the amenities!!

The home was exactly described , if not even better! Views were beautiful, pictures dont do it justice, very clean, well kept, and has everything you need! Amenity wise has something for everyone !! Location was right by everything too, everything was perfect, would definitely stay again! Amazing host too, very proffessional and courteous , and helpful, thank you again!

Perfect property for our gathering. House was well equipped. Outdoor area is special. Will definitely rent again. Have already recommended this property to other friends. Parking is minimal.
