Listing Description

Quiet, peaceful home in the Richmond Hills, close to Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, Marin County, and Wine Country. This house offers private entry, plenty of free parking, and is close to BART. Child, family, and pet-friendly. Great wifi for working from home.

Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a place to settle in for a few weeks with your family, this calm and comfortable home is the perfect setting.

Use it as a home base for exploring the many sites and cities the Bay Area offers. Drive to wine country, or take BART into the city.

Staying local? Explore Wild Cat Canyon, a beautiful regional park within a 15-minute walk with multiple trails and eucalyptus trees. Walk to the local market or check out the many restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area.

Need a relaxing day indoors? Read in a living room full of natural light, with large windows showcasing the San Francisco Bay and city skyline. Fruit trees adorn the front patio, and a garden oasis promises a sun-drenched afternoon. The three bedrooms are furnished with comfortable beds, and one of the rooms can easily function as an office.

Note: The in-law unit (downstairs, separate entrance) is occupied by my daughter and our golden doodle. They are quiet and respectful and can help with any questions or needs you have during your stay. The backyard is not for guests use.

Neighborhood Description

The East Richmond Hills neighborhood is a peaceful and friendly neighborhood that is close to the freeway and BART, yet feels like a hidden gem off the beaten path. Here are some of the beautiful places our neighborhood has to offer:

Dog-friendly parks:
Wildcat Canyon Regional Park https://www.ebparks.org/parks/wildcat/ - 1 mile
Mira Vista Field (entrance on Zinn St.) - 0.2 miles
Point Isabel - 5 miles. While a bit farther, this is a dog and human paradise where dog owners can enjoy coffee and snacks while their pups socialize)
Food and drinks:
Arlington market - 0.3 miles
Catahoula Coffee - 1.4 miles
Dozens of restaurants with 4 stars and above on San Pablo Ave - 1.2 miles
Our favorite cafes and restaurants are on Solano Ave in Albany, CA - 5.5 miles
Sightseeing
San Francisco downtown - 16 miles. Although traffic in Bay Area can slow down access to the city, it only takes 20-30 min to drive to San Francisco when roads are clear. There are two ways to drive to the city: via the Bay Bridge and via the Richmond / Golden Gate bridges. This helps when there is heavy traffic on one of the routes. BART is also a great way to get to the city and the station is 5 min drive from the house. It is also accessible by bus.

Marin County - 16 miles
Napa Valley - 30 miles
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom - 18 miles

This home was perfect for me being able to be 3 minutes away from my 90 year old mother and to spend a fabulous Thanksgiving at my mom’s. The place was clean and so quiet and relaxing. And my well trained 3 y/o big dog loved the morning walks down the street then the walk to Alvarado Park when we were at my mom’s ( a block from Alvarado Park).I would def book again!

The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable and the rest of the house had everything we needed. In the kitchen we used the oven, dishwasher and coffee machine. All worked great with no problems. Elina was amazing! Kept in contact during her vacation making sure everything was perfect! Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

My 5 family members and I stayed for 2 nights over Thanksgiving and it was just wonderful. The house is cute and comfortable with Gorgeous views. It's out of the hustle and bustle to downtown but still close stores. The neighborhood felt safe and the couple of neighbors we saw were friendly. 10 out of 10 would stay here again. My only suggestion would be to bring a couple gallons of water for drinking if you're not used to city water! Lol

We were impressed by the cleanliness and amenities provided. The house has a great view and spacious rooms. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. We were close enough to restaurants to enjoy as well.

Great location!

Great location and fantastic views! Advertisement on Vrbo suggests back patio and hot tub are part of rental but there is someone living downstairs and so those are private. I think in the instructions to the place, it suggests you can ask to use those but we didn’t see those right away so when I went back there, I surprised the tenant and her dog. That was fine cause hot tub wasn’t what I wanted anyway. Just a little misleading in the advertisement. Otherwise, a fantastic place!

Peaceful

Just what I needed, quiet , peaceful, property. It’s in a settled community where you can walk for hours and see beautiful views and interesting variety of landscapes. Easy access within minutes to Freeway if wanting to travel by car and explore the Bay Area. The Host was amazing, she communicated with me from the time I booked the property, and even after we checkout. I would definitely recommend this property and would like to come again.

When I was searching for my first home, I knew I wanted a house on a hill with a beautiful view. There’s something truly special about being able to see far into the distance—it gives you a sense of peace and perspective.

I’ve always loved the energy of San Francisco, but I also value the calm of a quieter town. Living just 15 minutes from the city by car gives me the best of both worlds. I enjoy hiking in nearby Wildcat Canyon and strolling the scenic trails along the bay—it’s a wonderful way to unwind and connect with nature.

This neighborhood is a hidden gem: it's diverse, welcoming, and full of fantastic food from all over the world. People from many cultures live here in harmony, creating a vibrant and peaceful community that I’m proud to be a part of.
