River Haven is a two bedroom, two bath cabin located directly on the Nottely River in Murphy North Carolina. From the screened in porch you look out over the clear flowing river. The riverside patio is a great place to enjoy the firepit when not fishing, tubing, kayaking, hiking, or exploring Murphy and the amazing river walk. Nottely River Winery is only about 6 miles away, and it's beautiful. And lets not forget the Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino just 12 miles away.

So you can relax at the cabin and do nothing at all, or do as much as you can if relaxing is not the only thing on the agenda. The Ranger Community Center has a kayak/canoe launch so from there a really nice float down to our place. When the water is low, about a 1.5 hour float, to as fast as 30 minutes if the water is flowing strong.

Fishing from our bank is fun, and wade fishing even more so. We are at the end of the road so very peaceful and quiet. It seems like you are a million miles away from anything, yet downtown Murphy is nearby along with great restaurants and shopping.

Disclaimer, VRBO shows in the map area that we are a one minute walk to a lake, we are not. I think they might mean if you are downtown. And the Hiawassee River is not 40 minutes away but maybe 15 minutes or so.

Le Ann and Mike are excellent hosts! The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location was perfect for a true getaway. Having stayed in many VRBO locations, have to say this was one was very clean, well appointed and some place we would stay again.

Absolutely beautiful property, the sound of running water is so relaxing. Love the fire pit being right beside the water. Screen porch/deck overlooking the water is a huge plus and very well furnished. Loved the layout of the house. Very comfortable and well appointed. Can't wait to stay here again. The owner is very nice and responds quickly. No complaints at all. Location is great. 20 minutes to nice restaurants in Blue Ridge and 15 minutes from Murphy.

Cleanest rental ever

The location was fabulous with easy access to the river. We took a 1 1/2 hour kayak run using the owners kayaks and ending right at the house. Fabulous! The interior was the cleanness we’ve ever experienced with any short term rental. The decor is not our style. There was a lot of what we think is excess furniture and decor items. The location right on the river and cleanliness of the interior including no dust even on all that decor made it well worth the slight nuances with the dated furniture and the need for a good power washing of porch and stair railings. The houses next door did not interfere at all with the river view. The drive in is on a partially gravel road but it was easy to navigate. We felt safe and comfortable in this very clean home.

The location is amazing

The whole family/ friends enjoyed this property, the property is super clean, the communication & check in process was easy and good. (The river is ice cold even in July) I would definitely recommend this property to anyone

Great Getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! Everything was clean, and the location on the river was absolutely great! We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river and listening to the sounds of the flowing water along with the various singing birds. We especially liked sitting on the porch overlooking the creek each morning while drinking our coffee. We made lasting memories and enjoyed "unplugging" and spending time in nature and with family!

Mountain paradise

Loved everything about our stay. The only disappointment was that we have 2 boys that love to fish but the water is very shallow and they didnt have much luck catching anything.

great house. loved being on the river with no houses across from us! very peaceful and quiet. not real fond of the gravel road entrance but will not stop us from staying again.

Great Memories

This place has it all if you want a true Western North Carolina experience. Kayak right out the back with the provided Kayaks. Teenage girls had a blast and the home cooked meals were the best. Definitely recommend staying here. Thank you for the lifelong memories.

Spectacular view

The home was very clean and the view was spectacular. The only two complaints were all of the beds were old (need to be replaced) and the other is they have well water which smelt of sulfure and was not pleasant.

River Hideaway

Location! Location! Location! If you are looking for a spot that you can walk out of the back door and jump in the river, this is it. All you need to enjoy a breakaway from the daily grind can be had; plus, it's conveniently located to downtown Murphy!

When we first saw River Haven, we fell in love with it. The beautiful Nottely River is incredible. Across the river from the cabin is a forested mountain side. It's an amazing secluded property that seems to be hundreds of miles away from anything, yet the great little mountain town of Murphy is less than nine miles away. The Nottely River Valley Winery and Vineyard is just 6 miles away. The casino is only 12 miles away.

The property is secluded yet so easy to get out and about. A short drive away is everything you need in the Town of Murphy. Great restaurants and friendly people. Put on your hiking shoes and enjoy the River Walk. You will fall in love with all of the rivers in the area but especially the Notley River at your back door.
