Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome on the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy watching the dolphins jump from your gulf front screened lanai while sipping your morning coffee. Enjoy more gulf views from your floor to ceiling sliders in the 2nd story master bedroom leading to an open gulf front balcony .Due to damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the community pool, tennis courts and docks will not be available during 2025. This townhome is very well equipped with all kitchen ware, cookware, linens, towels and beach chairs. Sofa sleeper in the living room. Time to plan that perfect vacation! Have you vacationed on the island before? Palm Island a.k.a. Don Pedro Island, is a barrier island 7 miles long between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on the Gulf coast with sugar-sand beaches, beautiful harbors and lagoons, great fishing and shelling only accessible by a short 10 minute car ferry or private boat. Our beaches are some of the most pristine and quiet in all of coastal Florida. There are no high rises blocking your Gulf views, unpaved sandy roads, and a relaxed "Old Florida" atmosphere. There is one restaurant called the Rum Bay that serves lunch and dinner. The car ferry runs continually from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm from Sunday through Thursday and until 11:00 pm Friday and 12:00 midnight Saturday. You drive your car onto the ferry and then directly to your vacation rental home. It's a very special place to vacation. We have kayak rentals and golf cart rentals for your use during your vacation. All of our properties on Palm Island require a ferry ride to get there. One round trip on the ferry for car and passengers costs $55. The alternative is to purchase a book of 10 round trips for $380, or $38 per round trip. For more information on the ferry, google Palm Island Transit.

Pet Policy: This home is Pet Friendly home. This means that ONE dog is permitted to stay at the rental. No cats are permitted in any of our properties. Certain aggressive breeds as designated by the State of Florida and outlined in our rental contract are not permitted. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
Due to damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the community pool, tennis courts and docks will not be available during 2025.

Nothing short of perfection

It wouldn’t matter if there were any problems because the island is so majestic and peaceful, even with hurricane damage. With that being said though, The house was in perfect shape and the communication with Jim was so seamless and easy. If I could go anywhere in the world, I’d still choose this place. I’ve never had a bad stay. The house being right on the beach is just heavenly. It just feels like home every time.

Palm Island

This property was right on the beach with an amazing view! Neighbors were very nice. It was nice and peaceful and very relaxing. Property was clean and comfortable. The only negative thing I can say is that the beach chairs were broken and there was not a grill like advertised. Our neighbor was kind enough to let us use their grill.

I love the island and have been a regular since 1990. Very relaxing and peaceful. A true getaway indeed. My only complaint is the mattresses are horrible! Even my 6 year old couldn’t sleep in the twin bed upstairs. My only complaint.

Perfect family vacation

The property at Colony Don Pedro was perfect for our family! We were right next to the pool, close to tennis courts and literally a couple steps to the beach!! The unit was roomy and was well stocked with all the necessities. I would highly recommend Don Pedro Island. The only bummer is the $55 round trip to the mainland for food.

Property was as advertised. No unpleasant surprises!! Nice ocean view and right on the beach. Friendly neighbors. Love the peace and quiet of the island and will return again.

Island Time

The house is perfect for no hassle beach access walk out back deck and on the sand.You can sit on the couch in living room and watch the beach out the glass doors.The beds were great.Plenty of room in living room and kitchen/dining.Lay in bed at night and here the waves crashing on the beach.

Beautiful beach!

5 stars as house is just steps away from the beach! This is what we call house is on the beach! House is pet friendly which is a plus! This ocean front property is a gem! House needs update but we didn’t mind as house is really on the beach! Our family had a great time! We will be back again hopefully soon!
