As unique as the song of the Whippoorwill, this beautiful and calming cabin is just for you and your love! This cabin includes a fully-equipped kitchen, full bathroom, and living area with a gas fireplace as its centerpiece! Past the porch hot tub, you will find a fire pit and charcoal grill for your personal use! Avenwood Cabins offers private cabin getaways in the beautiful Wayne National Forest. Our woodland escape ensures relaxation while providing modern amenities. Each cabin boasts state-of-the-art hot tubs with a view of the forest, queen-sized beds for guest comfort, air conditioning for those warmer months, WIFI and Roku-equipped televisions to keep you connected, and of course a pet-friendly environment for your fur babies!

Overnight get away

The cabin was great. Want to book it again. Host did not respond to email questions on the contact host link , but everything worked out well. TV is in an awkward spot - but not sure anything can be done about it - its above the fire place. Bedroom could maybe use a shelf or small night stand. Overall very nice. I hope to go back. Would recommend it.

Adorable cabin

Other than the automatic key code not working, everything else was great! Had our doubts on the road leading to the driveway of the cabins, the junkyard of cars being tirn apart gave some bad vibes initially.The couch and hot tub could be updated, but overall, it is a great place in our opinion! We'd definitely rent it again!

Needs work.

What you read is what you get. The property manager is unreachable. Kitchen wear was in very poor condition and some of it was still dirty, so i am happy we brought our own. Most of the jets for the hot tub were rolling around in the bottom... paint peeling, stained and jets did not work properly. Took a half hour with a toothpick to get the corrosion out of the shower head so it was usable. No fan or ac in the bedroom and hot as af. It is a good location and reasonably private compared to some, but think I would pick somewhere different on a second trip.

Legos and Steak Dinner!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary here and it was lovely! We came to check in after a day hiking and fishing and touring the shops around town- it was so pretty when we walked in! In my opinion better than the photos but photos sometimes don't do justice. We spent time in the hot tub talking and listening to nature, we built Legos as that's our little hobby and made a steak dinner while watching The Sting with Paul Newman. (Great movie, you should watch it) We made breakfast the next day and had an easy check out! We loved our stay and everything Hocking Hills had to offer! (Especially the pistachio ice cream at the nearby ice cream place! So good!)

Whipperwill at avenwood

Cute cabin in the woods mostly private. My only complaint is the shower, the valve was so tight had a heck of a time turning it on and the water pressure was to high felt like i was being pummeled.Otherwise it was a great stay

Cozy little cabin

Had a great stay in this cozy little cabin. This cabin was our second cabin we have stayed in at Avenwood, and it did not disappoint us. The cabin was clean, and had all the necessities that we needed. The bed was comfortable with a memory foam mattress. Will definitely return. Will definitely return.mattressWilreturn.

Relaxing getaway

Me and my husband stayed at the whippoorwill cabin for two nights. It was just what we needed. A quiet, relaxing getaway. The hot tub was a plus for sure. The cabin was clean, cozy and relaxing.

Much to be desired

Well, zero communication regarding how to actually use the door lock. Thank God they provide information on a back-up method. The first thing I noticed was the cleaning board stated the last cleaning was performed 1/5/2025 which is weird and gross because the last review was listed as 1/6/2025. Half drank water bottles in the bedroom. All the reviews are correct. Bring your own cooking utensils and spices and grab the microwave handle way up high if you need to use it because it really is broken. Do not try to open the bottom drawer of the stove because it's rigged to stay closed. You're going to question your safety driving up to the property. It was pretty safe, just a lot of noise and people yelling from nearby cabins. Take soaps, lotions, towels. The fireplace will only work if the temperature on the thermostat is actually lower than what the AC unit is programmed for. Essentially, be prepared to not have a working fireplace unless you purposely allow it to get cold in the cabin and then bump up the AC temp. It's weird. Lastly... the hot tub. It has some wear and tear but it looked and smelled clean. It's not. Bacteria causes folliculitis which you will contract if you use this tub. This is all information coming from personal experience with this specific cabin and its amenities. For added measure: Ash Cave and Cedar Falls are a 40 minute drive from the property. Logan and Hocking Hills Winery are about 25 minutes.

Nice cabin

The cabin was clean and represented well. My only complaint would be there was no paper towels and we had to buy a cooking knife as all that was there was 3 butter knives..

Bring everything and expect nothing

Barely any cook wear, no knives, no spices, no bowls, microwave handle broken. In bathroom, broken clothes hamper, chipped toilet seat, cramped shower, showerhead stays on full blast and assaults you. Fireplace did not work, hot tub water was incredibly disgusting, hot tub cover falls off back porch if not careful, makes for a headache.

The cabin and area was beautiful and private. It was close enough to restaurants and activities, but still had the feel of being in the woods.

Wouldn't stay again

Weekend trip

This was a quick weekend trip to get out of town. The cabin was cute and exactly as the pictures described. In hindsight we should have looked for a place with a larger bed and full size sofa but that’s on us.

Clean, quiet and cozy cabin

Cabin was very nice. Only small inconveniences, like mentioned in earlier reviews, shower head not great, no night stand by bed, no sharp knives in kitchen, and dishes and pans not great. We enjoyed our stay.

My review

We understand that sometimes the little things can get missed. It happens. But there were a lot of little things. From cleanliness to things being broken. It’s a wonderful cabin and the staff was quick to try to remedy some of the situations. There’s just room for improvement.
