We had a fantastic holiday in Dijon and really enjoyed our stay at Villa Les Halles. The location couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. Initially we were looking for an apartment with a parking place in the building, but ended up booking Villa Les Halles which is 3 minutes away or so from Parking Tremouille which costs less than 30 for a week and is in the middle of one of the most lively places with restaurants, the market, bars, small supermarkets, and all key landmarks within walking distance. We thought the apartment would be noisy given its location but it was actually quiet inside and we liked the lively energy and vibe of the street and area when we opened the windows. Many thanks to Emma for her warm welcome. She always responded quickly as well whenever we had a question.

The apartment is very well located, near numerous restaurants, shops and right across from Les Halles market. Our host was helpful and prompt in getting back to us. We appreciated being able to drop off our suitcases ahead of check in time. The kitchen was well equipped and the living quarters comfortable. A few things to be aware of: 1. There is air conditioning but mainly in the bedroom loft, the kitchen- living room area. The second bedroom could use a fan to cool it off as it got quite hot. 2. There are a lot of steep stairs to get to the living area - a workout for 3 seniors! 3. There is only one toilet and one separate room with a sink and shower - we thought there was a full bathroom plus a separate toilet. None of these impacted our enjoyment of our visit to Dijon.

Comfortable apartment in a great location

We were a group of 4 adults staying on the weekend, and we enjoyed the apartment very much. It was nicely decorated with good bathroom and kitchen fixtures, so its easy to cook if you wish. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly when needed..it is located across the street from a busy covered market, and all attractions were easily within reach, as well as a large variety of restaurants. As noted, there are two flights of stairs to access the apartment and another to get up to the loft bedroom. A very nice stay in a pleasant city.

This is a lovely, spacious apartment across from the Dijon Markets, close to the tram, supermarket and great restaurants. The host very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the apartment as we arrived in Dijon prior to check in. When we checked into the apartment the towels left for us were tiny and still damp. The pillowcases in one of the bedrooms had not been changed from the previous occupants and when my husband sat on the bed one of the support slats broke. New towels were provided but they too were damp and new pillowcases also but they were still in the packet and not laundered. I would give it 3-1/2 stars if possible as despite the hiccups it is a lovely unit and the host is very accommodating. Hiccup-free, definitely a 4-1/2 rating.

Perfect location. Closest place you can get to the Dijon Market. Nice, clean spacious apartment. We had 5 people and had plenty of space.

Great stay in Dijon

Great location, great stay in Dijon. We were very pleased with the comfort and location of this Nice appartement in Dijon. Easy access by tram and soooo many things to see! To our great surprise, there was a market right at our door ! We purchased jases fresh fruits and pasteurs and souvenirs! We really enjoyed ourselves.

L'appartement en lui-même est bien équipé et propre. Toutefois l'extérieur n'est pas agréable (manque de propreté de la cour (mégots dans la cour, poubelles trop voyantes. Les communs ne sont pas nets. Dommage, car cela ne reflète pas la qualité de l'appartement. L'emplacement est pratique avec restaurants autour des halles, les supérettes très proches pour des courses.Nous avons passé un bon séjour, Dijon est une ville très agréable.

The good, the iffy, the downright dangerous

Great location, comfy beds, wonderful walkable city. We very much enjoyed our time here. HOWEVER — To get in: 2 flights of narrow, curving, concrete stairs. One of us has balance issues and this made it quite scary to go up and down. Dangerous: only one key to get out. If someone is remaining while the other goes for a walk, you are literally trapped in case of fire. The upstairs bedroom is in a loft, dangerous stairs with handrail too short, guest fell on last 2 steps at night. Large TV hanging precariously off wall at base of loft steps. No handles for pots, tried 4 stores, could not buy one, burned a finger. Hot tap water BOILING hot, dangerous for kids. (Maybe this is true throughout France!?) We read French but had great trouble deciphering instructions for all the appliances. However, once we did, they worked just fine. Insufficient basic supplies, needs to be reviewed and refilled by owner (dirty sponges, only one napkin, too little laundry soap, we had to buy our own toilet paper and other paper supplies, etc). Owner told us to buy our own and she would pay us back. Dijon is lovely and fun, this apartment is ideally located across from the fantastic market, and close to transportation. Owner was very prompt and polite communicator and this will be a wonderful place to stay when she has done a few updates and safety improvements!

Lovely Apartment Across From Market

This is a stylish apartment in a great location in walking distance to all the main attractions. Even thought we didn't cook, I loved being across from Dijon's covered market. It is two flights up, which should be fine for most people. However, at our age, it was a bit of a draw back. It would also help to have more storage space. The closet is very narrow (half shelves, half hanging) and the bottom was taken up with a large box and a vacuum cleaner. Despite that, I would highly recommend this lovely apartment.

Les Halles und Altstadt Dijon

Das Apartment liegt „Les Halles“ gegenüber und direkt bei der Altstadt. Für uns war die Lage genial. Die Anfahrt bis ans Haus mit dem Auto ist an Markttagen schwierig, da versenkbare Poller die Straße blockieren. Uns hat ein Taxifahrer geholfen weiterfahren zu können. Das Apartment ist sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet, bestens ausgestattet und die Klimaanlage ist im Sommer sehr nützlich. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter was bestens, Emma hat uns sehr gut betreut. Ein Tipp, die Ausstattung mit Essbesteck sollte aufgestockt werden. Wir haben die Tage genossen und wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Danke Emma

Great location in a beautiful town

My friends and I stayed at this property to serve as a base for a few stages of the Tour de France. The property was everything we could have asked for -- clean, great location, very responsive communication from the manager. It is located right on the market so is very convenient for everything you need. Because it is on the market, there is some noise earlier in the morning as well as in the restaurants that surround the market into the later evenings. If you don't mind having a bit of noise and you want to benefit from a great location, you should consider this property.

Wer mitten im Geschehen sein will, ist hier richtig. Das bedeutet allerdings auch, dass es etwas lauter ist, vor allem morgens ab 6 Uhr an Markttagen. Wir haben uns aber ziemlich schnell daran gewöhnt und die einmalige Lage sehr genossen. Bei Belegung mit 4 Personen etwas wenig Porzellan und Besteck. Für uns 2 war es aber ausreichend. Schlüsselübergabe war etwas unglücklich, da das Housekeeping nur den Wohnungsschlüssel nicht jedoch den ebenfalls erforderlichen Haustürschlüssel übergeben hat. Nach Kontaktaufnahme mit der Vermieterin hat das aber am nächsten Nachmittag geklappt. Wir würden das Apartment jederzeit weiterempfehlen!
