We looked forward to the daily, delicious and well-thought of breakfasts.

Recommended! Hosts know what they are doing having been in the biz for more than 2 decades. They are warm and friendly.

We had a wonderful time! Chris and Riet are the most amazing hosts! They made us feel like at home, like part of the family. Genuinely warmhearted people. They suggested us places to visit, restaurants, cafes to go to. Room we stayed in was big and beautiful. Bed was super comfortable. Shower and toilet very clean, plenty of towels provided. Cozy balcony with a lovely view. We were ok to walk in their beautiful garden. It was very hot days, so in the evening we were sitting on the patio with our feet dipped in the water. Every morning yummy Dutch breakfast was served. Riet always explained what were we having. We even bought the same bread we loved so much as Riet gave us the address of the bakery she gets the bread from. Chris and Riet gave us theur bicycles, so we can cycle to mills. It is a quite short cycle to famous Zaanse Shans mills. Amsterdam is a short hourney by train. Riet provided us with all the info needed how to get there. She has recommended a restaurant there. We went there and goodness the food was delicious there! One evening Chris prepared rowing boat for us, we had a lovely experience. There is Shiphol airport not too far and some noise from landing planes, but it didn't bother us at all. My highest recommendations! I am really looking forward of coming back soon! Chris and Riet - you are amazing!!!!

Exceptionnel

It’s a beautiful venue with a very uptight host.

The property, neighborhood, and surrounding area are beautiful. Our host was accommodating - but a bit controlling and manipulative. When we arrived, we tried to nap off some jet lag, but she told us we had to come down right away to pay her a tourist tax (that we knew nothing about) because she had to go to the store before they closed. Found out later that they had gone to the store the day before. Breakfast was pretty minimal for a bed-and-breakfast. Every morning consisted of meat, cheese, bread, and mediocre coffee. When I asked if she had any fruits or vegetables, she gave me an unpeeled orange. I was grateful. Our last morning we planned on leaving by the checkout time - which is 11 AM. However, at breakfast she sprung on us that we needed to be out 45 minutes early because the cleaning lady was coming. (The cleaning lady didn’t show up until almost 1130) as we were in the street trying to leave and being interrogated by our host because she couldn’t find a couple rags. She accused us of taking them and demanded we pay €10. It was very uncomfortable and awkward. I felt sorry for her. She found them later - but did not reimburse us. She made a huge awkward uncomfortable deal about a very small matter. Her deceptions and accusations put a huge damper on our visit.
