Independence day vacation

Luxurious comfort! The cabin was wonderful and we all enjoyed the many amenities, the hot tub, the firepit, the comfy couches, the most comfiest beds and all the outdoor seating. We enjoyed the area but coming back to the cabin was always highly anticipated.

Impromptu Family Getaway

Beautiful spot for a last minute trip to get outta Dallas. Cabin was comfortable and had all the amenities needed (and then some) for our visit. We enjoyed having the fire pit for hotdogs and smores (wood is very kindly provided, however, be prepared to walk some down to the firepit). We used the jacuzzi every night after the long days of hiking, biking, and fishing.Suggestion to first time BB / Hochatown visitors: bring your own food for at least a few meals. Closest grocery store is 15-20 minutes away and underwhelming. Restaurants are few, fill up quickly, and close early.

Cozy winter wonderland!

The cabin was the perfect size and location for our stay. We got lucky with almost a foot of snow during our weekend getaway! This was the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever had at a rental. The fireplace and hot tub were perfect additions to our stay. The owners were very responsive throughout the stay.

Amazing stay!

Everything was absolutely perfect for our family’s stay. Beautiful property and fantastic location. We loved the Christmas decorations which were the best touch for our stay over Christmas. Highly recommend, and we would love to come back again!

Cabin Retreat

Such a beautiful property with all the amenities for a nice cabin get away. The kids ages 3-10 had a great time playing on the swings and slide. Perfect bonfire with comfortable seating to enjoy the night sky and making smores. Hot tub was amazing, clean and a great way to wind down for the night. The cabin was beautiful and we loved getting in the Christmas spirit with the warm fireplace and cute decor. Plenty of fun things to do if you all decide to stay at the cabin without touring the local attractions. Easy and clear communication from the host! Overall a very enjoyable stay and looking forward to returning.

Beautiful and comfortable

We had a great time at this cabin. It has everything you need to make your stay cozy. We loved the long deck that extends all the way to a play area. The location is very good too. We'll definitely be back!

Fall break

We had a wonderful time for our fall break staying at the treetop resort. The house was great. The property was amazing. Our boys had a blast, making fires sitting outside playing sardines going in the hot tub making a s'mores and Fly Fishing. The home was neat and clean, but also rustic, making us feel like we were staying in a cabin in the woods. Thankful for generous house to allow us to stay in their home with our dog who enjoyed herself immensely. Hope to come back soon.

Amazing!

The property itself was gorgeous and very clean. It had all the basic amenities and the hosts were extremely responsive and very nice. We started to plan our next trip back to the same cabin during our drive home!

Perfect spring break

This was a perfect home to stay in for our family to enjoy spring break. There was a large common area to hang out during the rain and lots of porch space. Our favorite area was the large sitting area down the steps, though. There were comfortable chairs under the trees next to a gentle stream. My kids said it sounded like, "one of those meditation apps," when we were sitting there. We had a very minor issue come up during our visit and the host was very quick to manage it at our convenience. We would definitely stay here again.

The experience was very pleasant. The only thing we didn't like was the cleanliness of the cabin. The sheets are full of animal hair and some blankets had a bad smell. I hope my comment helps a little something

Nice vacation!

Cabin was as presented on VRBO. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and furniture. We enjoyed the fire pit area as well as the hot tub.

Tip Top Tree Top Retreat

The Tree Top Retreat was just that - a lovely large cabin surrounded by trees with an exterior stairway that descended toward a creek and recreational area with rocking chairs, a creek, fire pit, Adirondack chairs, picnic table, swing set, and horseshoes. The deck that surrounds the cabin had comfortable chairs, grills, picnic tables, a hot tub, & corn hole! Our multigenerational family enjoyed all of the interior spaces, including the loft, a favorite of my preschool grandson! We all enjoyed a tip top time at the Tree Top Resort!

Relaxing Vacation

A much needed relaxing vacation at this cabin was just right. Off the main road and easy to get to. It was surrounded by trees and had privacy, but you could see other cabins through the trees. Kitchen had items to cook with and eat on. Wood, roasting sticks, and fire starter was provided for the fire pit. There was propane in the grill too. Towels and wash cloths available. The game table in the loft was a lot fun. Our teens enjoyed the having the loft to themselves. Did not watch a lot of tv, but it was nice to have when we did. Hot tub was nice and clean. Porch was so nice to sit on. Loved the deck area with the rocking chairs by the creek. It had rained the first night we were there, so it was running pretty good the next couple of days. Horseshoes and corn hole were fun. The owner was helpful with ideas to do in the area. Close to the state park and trails. Friends Trail is beautiful along the river and only 1 1/2 miles long. Nice eating places in Hochtoown. Would recommend this cabin for anyone coming to the area to relax or do the area activities.

Peaceful Retreat

We can’t wait to come back to this property again. It was clean and comfortable. The outdoor space of the property was fantastic also. Morning coffee on the porch with the view of the trees and creek was a great way to start the day. The fire pit area is as perfect for making s’mores. My kids loved walking in the creek and exploring. At night, it was the perfect place to relax after hiking and exploring all day.

Solid Cabin

Overall this was a great cabin. I was there with boyfriend and sister. It was a perfect floor plan for our group…sister stayed in the room upstairs with a private bathroom, complete with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Very private…small caveat ….there is no TV in the upstairs room. Not a huge deal though. There’s also a coup pile beds right outside this upstairs room…in the loft…good if you have a couple young children. We took the room downstairs with its own bathroom as well….with a very nice shower. The living room has very comfortable furniture and plenty of seating. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had everything we needed for several full meals. The outdoor space was great…propane and charcoal grills were great options. The fire pit is down a hill, via stairs…great space! Hot tub also worked very well! I will say that we were much closer to other cabins than expected…in fact a neighboring cabin had a lot of folks and we heard their music and voices late one night…..it’s not bad..but just know it’s not real private. The only other issue are the outdoor stairway Lights …there were many that are broken and missing…the remaining ones are not real bright…This is a quandary because the darkness was great to enjoy star gazing! But…walking up the stairs late at night (especially after a few bourbons) was dicey…remember to bring lights! Owner was very responsive the one time I had to reach out for a question. Overall I would definitely recommend this place….I had to search for the few criticisms.

Steve and Dayna live in Heath, TX with our college age daughter Addy and our two fur babies (Gabby and Sir Winston). We purchased The Treetop Retreat in 2021 as a family retreat to enjoy for generations to come. We enjoy sharing our happy place with others and hearing about the many great family memories made in our cabin.

We personally manage our cabin so we can be assured that each and every guest gets undivided personalized attention. You are our priority!

We feel there is something magical about the property and love the elevations, extensive decking and the feeling of tranquility you get just sitting outside listening to nature from the porches. We are on a natural migratory path for deer, so we get lots of furry critters passing through, which we can't get enough of.
