Enjoy a relaxing getaway at Long Lake Lodge, a well-maintained, 4BR / 2ba home located just ~1 hour east of the Twin Cities.

With a spacious three-season porch and an oversized lakeside deck, this year-round, two-story home has more than 100 feet of gorgeous, south-facing level shoreline on 273-acre Long Lake in the Township of Balsam Lake. Take a swim, fish year-round, or warm up to a bonfire and roast s’mores on the waterfront.

There is fun for all ages!

Long Lake Lodge is located just ~15 minutes from both Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain Ski and Outdoor Recreation Areas, Interstate Park in Taylors Falls, Minn., as well as many other activities including wineries, apple orchards, cross-country ski areas, bike trails and a casino. It's also fully equipped with loads of cards, board games and a separate game room that includes air hockey, a pinball machine, darts, foosball, and more.

If you’re looking for some quaint cafes or shopping, check out the nearby town centers of Lindstrom (Minn.), or Balsam Lake, St. Croix Falls, and Osceola (Wis.).

Ok for what it was

Layout was good for our needs. Beds were comfortable. Overall was good but definitely needs some TLC. Deck railing was broke, dock wasn’t usable. House number/address doesn’t match fire number, hard to find driveway. Smelled of dead mice and found mouse evidence in drawers in kitchen. Had to wash all dishes we used before using. Stacked cups were moldy inside. No dishcloths. Bathroom rugs was gross.

50th anniversary

Spent my the weekend with my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. Plenty of space for everyone and we especially enjoyed the large deck and large kitchen and dining room!

Cabin on Long Lake

Had a slight problem checking in when we first arrived but the owners were quick to resolve the issue. Grass was really long too (almost 2 feet tall). Owners came out within 24 hours to take care of it. The game room was fun! Close enough to Balsam Lake to enjoy a few nice restaurants and some shopping. Arrow wood supper club was amazing! Highly recommend the walleye!

Great spot to relax!

The property was very clean, comfortable, quiet, private, and had a great outdoor area with a beautiful south-ish facing lawn. We had a great, very relaxing time there. The bedrooms are all on the second floor and very quiet; none of us had any trouble sleeping or taking naps. My only qualms were that the grills were too rusted out the use, the dock was still taken in for the season, and the coffeemaker didn't work properly. This was a little disappointing since we wanted to bbq and fish, but ultimately it didn't impact our stay too much. Still had a great time. Would recommend!

Girls winter weekend

We enjoyed area parks and the nearby communities. This place must be beautiful in the summer as it is right in the water! We enjoyed a glass off wine at night while visiting near the fireplace. We each had our own room and two bathrooms made the stay perfect.

Anniversary stay

We spent our anniversary weekend with our adult "kids" and significant others. It was a great, quiet spot with wonderful views of the lake. The fireplace room was very cozy, the game room was a lot of fun - with the pinball machine a particular favorite. Lots of time for board games on the dining room table and great open concept with the kitchen. Close to good dining at the Indianhead Lodge and craft brews at Balsam Lake Brewery

Beautiful Property and Nice house

I love the property right on the lake, which can be seen from the large deck or the awesome 3 season porch. The game room in the house was a hit with everyone. I would rent this property again without hesitation.

Perfect Getaway

This was a perfect location: quiet and solitude, yet close enough to stores for what you need. The house was awesome with amazing views and plenty of space for playing games together. It is a true gem that all of my kids and enjoyed and even our teens asked if we could go back again sometime.

Long Lake Lodge

This home was perfect for our family of 6 with lots of room to spread out! The wi-fi also worked very well which was important to a few of us who had to work remotely. The game room was awesome and the lake views were spectacular! Lisa was great to work with from the beginning, answered all of our questions and provided lots of helpful recommendations. We had a wonderful week!

Thanksgiving

This was a perfect place to meet up as a family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Kitchen was well stocked with serving utensils and basics to make dinner. Game room was a hit, and outdoor firepit was perfect to use on a chilly day.

Comfortable cabin on a lake

Four of us retired female friends spent a delightful week at Long Lake Lodge. We each had a bedroom and having one of the two bathrooms on the lower level was great so someone could shower in the early morning without waking those still asleep upstairs. The house has a very cabin-y feel to it. The fireplace in the living room was warm and inviting on a chilly day. The three-season porch was a plus as was the huge outdoor patio. The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, glasses, mugs, flat wear, utensils, pots, and pans. Lisa was very responsive to the few minor issues we had. We would spend another week at this house in the future.

Great place for a family

We stayed here for a week with my two kids (3 and 4 months) and their grandparents. We had a wonderful stay. The game room was a perfect place to spend a rainy day, and we enjoyed exploring the St Croix river the other days. The smart TV worked excellently and we spent every night watching the Us Open (which we could record with YouTube tv!). For a family the bedrooms are nicely separate so we could spend time at night downstairs after the kids were asleep. The only note is there is one bathroom upstairs with the four bedrooms and one downstairs. The bathroom upstairs has a great amount of drawers and counter space so we didn’t mind all sharing. Lisa was super communicative and the kitchen had everything we needed (even kids plates and cups!). Thank you for the great capstone to our summer.

Beautiful property- so-so fishing

The house and property are beautiful and well maintained. The check in process was so easy and the owner was very responsive. We had no issues that way what so ever. Plenty of linens and towels provided. Plenty of bed space and the layout was great with bedrooms upstairs (so younger ones could go to bed and we could stay up without risk of waking them) and the living areas down on the main level. The owner was kind enough to let us park our pontoon at their dock along with theirs- but beware- the boat launch is conveniently close but is not an ideal launch as it is very, very steep. The fishing was great for the kids- plentiful blue gill- but not great if you’re looking to catch anything other than that. Some smaller bass- but that was about it. Location is in a small neighborhood but it’s very quiet- lots of trees for privacy. Not far from some smaller neighboring towns as well. Overall- we had a great time! I would say my only complaint property wise was I wish they had an accessible vacuum to be able to get any of the things that may get tracked in and crumbs but we made do with the broom.

Poor experience

I really wanted to give this property a good review because it is a nice property, nicely decorated and on a nice lake close to the Twin Cities. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found that the property had not been cleaned at all! We found clumps of hair, grass, sand and hair bands on the floor of the shower, dried toothpaste on the sinks, dirty toilets, sand, grass and dog food on the floors, Worst of all we found hair and grass on the sheets of the made beds! We ended up cleaning and washing bedding ourselves. Not how we wanted to start our vacation! The owner was responsive and did refund some money plus the cost of cleaning supplies we had to buy but we felt that she did not quite believe the condition we found the house in despite the pictures we sent her. We requested that she get someone to come and clean immediately and she was able to send someone out. However, we had done most of the cleaning already. One of our party was undergoing chemotherapy so we really wanted to make sure that the property had high reviews and additional sanitizing for Covid 19 - this was not what we found. I am hoping this was a one time problem!

Great Family Getaway

This is a great place to kick back and relax in a beautiful lakeside setting. Everything was as advertised and any question we had was quickly replied to by the Property Manager/Owner. The game room was great for the kids and the deck was a great place to sit and enjoy the lake. Overall we were very happy with our experience.

Girls Weekend

A great home for our annual girls weekend. Plenty of room to spread out, and we enjoyed the lake view. The town of Balsam Lake is nearby, with cute shops, a brewery, and enough to keep you busy.

Great weekend

Myself and family had a great weekend and so many fabulous memories were made! The home is beautiful, we will definitely be back! Lisa is on it! Her response to emails and phone call were prompt. The game room was a huge hit with the kids! Us adults loved playing the multiple games provided, bonfire and hanging out on the deck enjoying the beautiful scenery.
