Located smack dab in the middle of fantastic Half Moon Bay overlooking its turquoise blue water with its sandy beach, you'll find La Joya #5. Nicely updated from top to bottom, La Joya # 5 opens up to warm gentle ocean breezes and hits you with stunning panoramic, breathtaking ocean views overlooking the whole bay from the comfort of your living room.

From here all you can see is ocean. You are literally mere yards away from gentle surf at the water’s edge. This condo is well equipped you'll find all the pleasure comforts of home in La Joya # 5. Our kitchen is equipped with granite counters and filled with appliances. A huge primary bedroom with a 32' TV and a romantic walk-in shower with room for 2. There is second bedroom and bathroom with a full bathtub/shower and walk in closet. Right outside your primary bedroom, through the sliding glass door, is your huge patio, perfect for sunrises or just an afternoon chilling out with your favorite beverage. At night come visit our rooftop deck for the ultimate in stargazing.

Our friendly management staff is on site to help you plan your day. From bike, golf cart and snorkel, rentals to trips to the ruins of Tulum, Coba & Chichen Itza, the golf courses, the cenotes and the exotic ocean playgrounds of XEL-HA and Xcaret, or XPLOR the Adventure Park. And don't forget the famous Yal-Ku lagoon is a short walking distance away. A little mini-mart is a short stroll away as well. La Buena Vida beach club and restaurant is a short beach walk away as is La Lunita Restaurant - an even shorter walk. A larger general store is at the main entrance and this is where you'll find shallow and sandy Akumal Bay right next to the Lol-Ha Restaurant. There are only seven units here at La Joya - all units are beachfront with ocean views. At La Joya #5 you can either do everything or nothing - either way it's still paradise.

Gated entry into the neighborhood as well as 24 hour security for the building.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Please be aware between April and September sargassum seaweed is possible and can accumulate in the water and on the shoreline. It is a natural phenomenon that is hard to predict due to changing winds and currents.
We do our very best to remove it from the beach but there may be times when it is abundant and out of our control.

The property is absolutely ideal - both rooms are spacious and well appointed. Two couples is the maximum for comfort and space. The pool is nice just a floor below with several chairs for sunning. it’s .91 miles to Akumal Beach

Best vacation ever!Julie was an absolutely fantastic host and assisted us with recommendations for airport transfers, things to do in the area and ensuring a grocery delivery was in the condo prior to our arrival.The condo is quiet and has fantastic views from balcony and all windows, a great place to relax and reconnect with the family.Maid service was an added bonus and all the staff (Joel and Raphael) were extremely friendly and helpful when we needed assistance booking excursions or a golf cart for the day. The fan on the balcony wasn’t working upon arrival and someone was there to fix it before we even knew it was a problem. We felt safe in the area day and night, Xavier guarding the property at night just added to our already extremely high comfort level.Happy hour at La Beuna Vida is a must and our meal at La Lunita was spectacular, both are less than a 5 minute walk away. There is also a small corner store 2 minutes away for the basics.The close proximity of the pool and the ocean was perfect for everyone in the family. Snorkelling right out front and in Yal Ku Laggon was a highlight, we went daily!If you are looking for a quiet spot away from the crowds and party scene this is the place for you. Social opportunities exist but it’s a very easy to find a quiet place to yourself.If you want to do a lot of excursions a rental car would be helpful but you can certainly get by without (we did). Thank you Julie, we can’t wait to return!

Condo and Location

The condo unit was great and the staff were awesome especially Ariel at the front desk. He gave us numerous suggestions and assistance. The location was great and everything had just a laid back vibe. Perfect for families and those wanting to relax and unplug. Will definitely go back

Nice condo

This was our 6th trip to Akumal, but first time staying at LaJoya condos. The property is well kept, with friendly staff, which is the norm for the area. The condo was comfortable and well equipped with a very comfortable bed and lovely views. The only thing that took away from our experience, was the smoking from a couple in the adjacent condo and the two very loud kids in the condo below, who took over the small pool. So a peaceful porch nap, or lounge by the pool was impossible. These things could not be helped, but took a little bit away from our full enjoyment.

Beautiful Place

Jeff and Julie’s condo is lovely! It is very clean and beautifully decorated! There is a covered porch with comfy furniture for relaxing out of the sun and the walk in shower feels awesome. It wasn’t too crowded when we were there so always chairs on the beach available and very clean grounds and pool. We enjoyed the restaurants that we could walk or bike to and had a great time! We didn’t use the 2nd bedroom but there is plenty of room for 4. We had maid service every day so felt very spoiled. The beach isn’t super walkable but there were lots of snorkelers! Thanks for a great time!! 🌞

Perfect condo on the beach

We were four adults staying at this adorable condo! It has everything you would need and it’s very clean and spacious. We all absolutely loved the patio and spent most of our time out there… the view is fabulous! Also loved that we were just steps away from the beach below and could easily make many cocktails to enjoy! The beach water was so nice and warm just make sure you have water shoes as it is very rocky and as for the sargassum it was not bad at all this October…they work real hard to clean up any that washes up on the beach. Half Moon bay is a very quiet and quaint place with two restaurants close to the condo and the other ones are just a short walk away… it was nice to get out and walk everyday. We all loved La Joya#5 and would definitely stay there again!

Excellent stay at La Joya, Caribbean Jewel! Very comfortable beds and furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking many meals. The balcony was perfect for watching the sun rise and relaxing. The building is maintained very well and the staff were exceptional. The location is perfect. In the middle of Half Moon Bay. It was easy to walk everywhere. Akumal is a quiet sleepy town, which was perfect for us. The snorkeling from the beach and at nearby Yal Ku Lagoon were amazing. I have to mention that the weeds did arrive, but the beach was cleaned every day and it helped a lot. The pool was great for a quick dip and there were no weed in the pool! HA! The beach is rocky, so be sure to bring your water shoes. Thanks Julie & Jeff!

Exceeded expectations

We really enjoyed ourselves at La Joya. The location is excellent for those who want close access to Akuma Beach without being on the busier beach. There are several little shops nearby and two restaurants, one more upscale and another with a beach pub feel and unique seating options. For those not familiar, the entire area of Akumal is very safe. We preferred eating in the main town (Akuma pueblo) and had some excellent meals including our kids' favorite, Taco Maya. The property is just relaxing - hammock, pool, shady loungers and worthwhile snorkeling. Our hosts made everything easy for us from start to finish, including separating to two beds in one of the bedrooms for our kids. We spent most of our time exploring cenotes and our fans Eden, Azul, Christiano) are within 10 mins of LA Joya. We also saw Tulum ruins and several centers there, only about 20 min drive, as is Playa del Carmen going the other direction. Everything was great! Very glad we stayed here.

Wonderful Experience

Amazing! Loved the pool and beach just down the stairs. So clean and comfortable. The daily maid service and fresh drinking water were unexpected amenities. Safe complex with security on site. Definitely recommend.

Perfect condo on Akumal beach

This was absolutely perfect, the condo had everything you could possibly need. It was clean, very comfortable. We loved the hammock and enjoyed the lanai every morning. We will definitely rent that condo again.

Great condo

La Joya #5 is a great condo on Half Moon Bay! Julie is a very responsive host and the onsite property manager is wonderful and can help with any thing you might need during your stay. The condo is very clean, has a nice pool, beautiful views and is in a good location near restaurants and attractions. There is also a nice rooftop terrace for sunsets. We love Akumal, and have been going for years... cant wait to return again!
