Sitting atop the charming Hotel Andenes al Cielo, this apartment provided the perfect place for our week long stay in Cusco. It was necessary for us to walk through the hotel courtyard and up several sets of steps to get to the top floor, but it was worth it, both for the privacy and the view. We had a spectacular view of Cusco and the surrounding mountains from both the living room and the bedroom!
The bedroom had a queen bed which worked for us and a fully enclosed sunroom off the bedroom with seating for two. This provided a wonderful spot to relax with a cup of coffee or tea. The modern bath with a shower plus a half bath was convenient to have.
The kitchen was equipped with the basics; refridgerator, gas cooktop, toaster oven, microwave and coffee pot. There was nothing else we needed. Besides, with a hot "made to order" breakfast option provided by the hotel and numerous excellent restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance, I can assure you we didn't go hungry!
Jack's, just a few doors down, became a favorite for soups and sandwiches. Additionally, The Meeting Place, a coffee shop up the hill on San Blas plaza was also a good spot for coffee, waffles, sandwiches and conversation.
Just outside our door were stairs leading to a top deck where we enjoyed views of the city and surrounding mountains.
Did I mention the guitar? An added plus for my husband!
This apartment was within easy walking distance of the famous Plaza de Armas, with it's abundance of restaurants and museums. Just don't overlook the Plaza of San Blas. It's around the corner and up a steep hill, but has some delightful shops and cafes to explore.
The attentive hotel staff provided concierge services and help us plan the details of our daily outings.
We hope to return someday to this very special place!
