Nighthawk Cottage on private lake with dock, hot tub, amenities.

Cottage resides on 40 private acres, 2.5 acre lake in the middle. See Nighthawk Lodgings LLC, cottage on Facebook as well. The lodge, my home, is on the other side of the lake and has a full apt. available as well. See Nighthawk Lodge Apartment at VRBO or Facebook page. The hot tub is located at the lodge and is a short walk or drive from the cottage.
I grow a variety of organic veggies, berries, fruit available for purchase in season. Also as a passion, I make in house charcuterie, cheese, sourdoughs and ferments mostly for friends but extend to guests when available as farm to table concept.
I encourage chefs, cooks, gardeners to participate and share knowledge of all things food.
Cottage built 2020, 700 sq ft with wrap around porches, deluxe kitchen including gas stove/oven, tiled tub/shower, cozy private bedroom with futon in main room, large windows, gas grill, firepit, antique furnished with eclectic artworks and paintings.
Local activities include hiking, water falls, skiing, fishing, hunting, mushrooming[great chanterelle area], bird watching [I've identified 56 species on the property]. Surrounding towns have antiquing, restaurants, bakeries, wineries.
Wifi connection unlimited Starlink, free Netflix, smart TV.
I meet with guests briefly to review essential property details, burn bans etc.
Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, crated or not.
I meet with guests upon arrival to review property details.
Massages available from neighbor and friend. Info in unit.

James came to welcome us upon arrival and walked us through the cabin. The lot is wonderful -- private lake, evergreen forest, secluded location, great warm cabin with tankless water heater, huge kitchen sink, great bathtub, gas stove, a lot of space for our 5 days stay

This place was incredible. We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The Lake was perfect and the home was very comfortable. Even the futon was very comfortable. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay with a grill and cooking essentials. We look forward to staying again in the future!

We had a great time at the cottage! Check-in was easy, James was a great host and our little kiddo enjoyed being outdoors and around the lake. We even spotted some otters! Overall a great experience. We’re already thinking about the next visit!

Great secluded cabin

My partner dog and I stayed a weekend here to get out of the city for a bit. The cabin is very nice and well set up for a couple. We really appreciated the fire pit and wood pile which we were able to use every night as it wasn't fire season yet. One thing to note is that the lake is actually a bog, which is cool, but also not as clear as one may be expecting. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Quiet and peaceful retreat

We sought a getaway from Seattle to hike and relax - this cottage was the perfect fit. It was secluded yet easy to get to. We appreciated the gated security. The cottage itself was amazing! Well constructed with a stocked kitchen for cooking. The stars visible at night were breathtaking!! We were very close to fantastic hiking and felt very much like we were immersed in nature. James was responsive and very helpful. Highly recommend!!

Lake Cottage

Three lovely nights of peace, quiet and beauty. Jamie is a fabulous host. The cottage is lovely, roomy and comfortable.If his charcuterie is available, it is excellent, memorable and a bargain at any price. He helped us plan some outings in the area away from the property as well. We plan a return visit. Highly recommended! 6 Stars!

Excellent place

If you are looking for a quiet place, it is where you need to go. The cabin is very clean, the owner is welcoming. I enjoyed staying at this place and would love to go there again.

Lovely Cabin and scenery

The Property is beautiful. Very peaceful but although the Owner is very nice he insisted we meet him at checkin. Due to this we missed meeting family to help set up for the wedding and also missed dinner with everyone. Very disappointed. We were not told about having to meet the Property Owner until well after we made reservations. We were sad to miss family time while there. We felt pressured to get there and meet him. Not a good thing. Also the hot tub is very long walk away from the rental. Didnt use it. To cold to get out of the hot tub and walk that far back. He said we could drive to it but didnt want my car all wet. So the hot tub is really not part of the rental. He was polite and allowed us to bring our small dogs. That was very much appreciated. Overall very nice place.

Beautiful weekend under the stars

Our stay was awesome. The cabin is an idyllic PNW experience. As a local, I would recommend anyone from out of state to stay here to get a true northwest experience. The lake is serene and the private dock is an awesome place to hangout. James was a great host and very helpful. We will definitely come back to spend more time soaking in the lake.

"Serenity Now"

If you don't enjoy peace, quiet and beautiful surroundings then this isn't the place for you. If you don't love calm refreshing waters of a quaint and private lake, this may also not be a good match for you. If you don't enjoy sharing your surroundings with a population of dragonflies, frogs, squirrels, kingfishers, bats, owls and a family of otters, you may want to choose another property. If having a cottage that has all the modern amenities and comforts of home coupled with rustic charm, then I'd suggest you look elsewhere. If you don't appreciate a host who offers a warm, welcoming nature and is available for anything you require at the drop of a hat, then avoid Nighthawk Cottage. Thanks James for making our stay fantastic. My personal experience with the owl that one morning was something I won't soon forget. Oh, and give the otters a big thanks for gracing us with their presence!

Beautiful location

The cabin was such a great place to get away to for a few days. The cabin itself was very comfortable/. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the gorgeous lake. The water was perfect for swimming and for sitting next to and just enjoying the peace of being there. The host, James, was very welcoming and fun to talk to, and if you eat pork definitely get his charcuterie platter. We'd love to come back again sometime.

Peaceful Lake Cottage

My partner and I were looking for a place to unplug with our dogs, Nighthawk did not disappoint. We stayed for 8 days and wish we could have stayed another 8 days. The cottage was well appointed and comfortable. If peace, quiet and privacy are what you’re looking for then look no further. Great location, only 30 minutes east to the Cascade mountains if you’re seeking hikes and 45 minutes west to Everett if you’re looking for some seriously delicious food.

We were in heaven

The pond is so fantastic, we swam and swam and swam. The cottage is BEAUTIFUL. Construction, finish work and decor premium plus quality. If you are considering a stay in the area, book it for sure!

Listing does not do it justice

Jamie's place was absolutely lovely. The entire place was tranquil, well-designed, and so much more than advertised. We opted for one of Jamie's own charcuterie plates on arrival, and it was perfect - and enough to nibble on for our entire stay. We spent most of our time lounging in, on, or near the lake, and did not explore the trails around the property. That was more than enough for us. Great build, well-appointed, beautiful setting.

Quiet Getaway

PNW dreamscape

The cabin , land and lake are simply delightful. The cabin is private, pristine and thoughtfully appointed. How beautiful and serene the lake is! Morning mist rolling off of the lake is mesmerizing. The lake water is lovely , refreshing yet comfortable. So much flora and fauna to appreciate ! Charming dirt roads on the property and nearby off wonderful jaunts in nature. The kindness and generosity of James , the host , contributed so much to this experience. He is an artist of many mediums, and is fascinating and fun to chat with and learn from. As much of a gem , as the property itself ! Recommending this precious getaway , wholeheartedly !

Amazing peaceful adventure

This cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished and had all the amenities for a wonderful stay. I barbecued at night, had a wonderful fire outside, walked my two dogs around the very spacious property, sat by the lake and I had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend it. Probably one of the best properties I've ever stayed at.

Comfortable tastefully decorated cottage

We had a very relaxing time in this cottage. James is a wonderful host, and we felt so lucky to be able to sample his amazing charcuterie platter, which contained a delicious selection of cured meats, dips and superb cheeses. James takes his craft seriously as everything we tasted was sublime and I’m not easy to please! We did a nice hike in the beautiful surrounding mountains with our dog but we would have been happy just lounging on the couch with some of the great books on the shelves. It kind of made me wish we would be snowed in with only books and wine and charcuterie - but wrong season for this 😆 Can 100% recommend this treasure. We will be back!

Wonderful!

We loved our long weekend at this property. Owner is friendly and helpful. The cottage is very well maintained and beautifully decorated. There are views out of every window, and the privacy is unequaled. We loved the quiet and peacefulness. Although the weather was too cold and wet to make an outdoor fire or take a dip in the picturesque lake, it didn't matter one whit to us. We will definitely be returning!

As a retired builder, developer, I enjoy continued landscaping and vegetable/berry/fruit growing and preservation of such on my 40 acres as well as charcuterie, sourdough and cheese production. I take advantage of the local mountain hiking and fishing as well as Donaldson steelhead/trout triploids in lake depending on otter predation.

I bought this 40 acres in part due to the 2.5 acre lake at its center as well as the seclusion. I built my home-the Lodge- and sculpted the grounds with extensive soil amendments for organic food production and landscaping.

The property is a a nature cornucopia.
I named the property after the common Nighthawk who migrates from South America to nest here in summer, one of the longest migrations to North America. Their acrobatic maneuvers are extraordinary as well as the unique behavior of plummeting toward earth, to pull up and create a loud boom which is due to their wing/bone structure.
I've identified 56 species of birds on the property and await new arrivals especially migratory.
The Pacific tree frog and other indigenous amphibians proliferate in the lake. The frogs sing me to sleep with their mating songs in spring and summer.
The lake is surrounded by a peat bog of varying vibrant varieties as well as wild cranberries, Labrador Tea, Sundews-our carnivorous resident- and plants unique to peat bogs.
Many species of wild life live here. Bobcat, black bear, cougar, mountain beavers as well as beavers, otters, red squirrels, deer. None have been aggressive toward us.
Mushrooming in fall is as good as it gets. Chanterelles, boletus, lions main etc.
