Great stay in a beautiful setting

The property worked out well for a retired couple with a daughter and two grandsons. Lots of room and a well stocked kitchen for some cooking in house. Nice location tucked in the woods. Would easily stay here again if opportunity arises.

Great stay!

I was very impressed with Robbs Alaskan cabin. I've stayed in a few around the area it was top notch. Big windows and beautiful view. Off the highway so no noise. Very clean and updated. Easy check in and out.

Alaska adventures

We enjoyed our visit in Coopers Landing. This home has beautiful views and we felt safe and relaxed. Enjoyed lots of hiking and views of wildlife The owner Rob, was helpful and shared lots of tips with us.

Easy check in. BEAUTIFUL property. Love the main bath with 7 shower heads! The boys enjoyed some river fishing and we did a peaceful raft tour. Big shots coffee is the best very close. Oh and I hiked slaughter ridge. The trailhead is very close to this property. Thanks for the stay!

Convenient Location

Excellent location if you are staying to fish the Upper Kenai. Can walk to Princess Lodge. Generally quiet unless the neighborhood sled dogs are barking. Basic accommodation with few frills. Would benefit from some maintenance.

Lovely property

This was a lovely property—very comfortable for six people. The only issue was that many of the blinds weren’t working properly and it stayed light very late! Otherwise, highly recommended.

We stayed here with a group of eight and had plenty of room. One tip: stagger your showers, as the hot water can run low if several people shower back-to-back.The three main bedrooms have blackout curtains, which made sleeping easy. The bed on the upstairs landing does not, so a sleep mask was helpful. The upstairs bathroom is updated and spacious, and the downstairs half bath was very convenient.The downstairs master bath has a unique layout, with the shower opening directly into the bedroom. It’s ideal for couples and gave our family a few laughs since our daughter shared the room with Grandma!We appreciated having a washer, dryer, dishwasher, grill, and a well-stocked kitchen. The only thing missing was a can opener, so we bought one and left it for future guests.The porch was one of our favorite spots—peaceful and a wonderful place to enjoy the scenery.The property was easy to find and sits on shared acreage with a few other cabins. We could hear dogs from nearby kennels at night, but it wasn’t enough to disturb our sleep.The location made a great home base. We enjoyed lunch at the Princess Lodge and were just minutes from hiking and the Kenai River, with the Kasilof River about 50 minutes away. We recommend picking up groceries before arriving in Cooper Landing, as local options are limited.Overall, we felt the cabin was fairly priced. While it doesn’t have direct river or lake access, it offered a comfortable stay in a beautiful setting with easy access to all

Not the best but not the worst

We've stayed in a number of VRBO's over the years. Some have been outstanding others I'll never go back to. This one needs some work. It is in a great location in Cooper Landing. Any questions I had about the property were answered quickly. The bedrooms were good size and the kitchen was well stocked with all that you would need. However, when we arrived there were a number of windows open and it was about 56 degrees in the house. I turned on the heat which is radiant floor heating which takes a while. Well, after 3 hours I contacted the owner to come over and check his system Something was broken so he brought over 2 electric space heaters. The heat should have been turned on and the windows closed so the place was warm when we arrived. As others have said the bed in the master squeaks and there are no blackout shades. I brought all this up to the owner. He said that all of these things were going to be addressed and should be fixed soon. As soon as these things are addressed I think this will be a great place.

Need black out shades in bedrooms

Not a deal breaker but coming from lower 48 and traveling to the land of midnight sun, black out shades our drapes would have been nice.

Great location for float fishing trips

This house sits in the woods just minutes from the float fishing launch. The fishing guides picked us up at the end of the driveway - so convenient! This house was VERY clean and the bedding and towels are high quality. The dining table seats six and the kitchen appliances are nice. We cooked our meals while we stayed. There is a terrific outdoor grill if you want to cook your fish. I would definitely stay here again between September and April. A few things to consider that may be negatives for you: 1. no black out blinds in the bedrooms and lots of windows. If you stay between May 1 and September 1 that means your bedroom will never be dark. Bring eye shades. 2. poor lighting - this will not be an issue if you stay between May 1 and Sept 1 as it won't be dark out. We wanted to sit and read or knit in the living room, but there are no lamps. Also very few bedside lamps so bring an e-reader or book light if you want to read in bed between September and April. 3. no wine glasses. 4. no towel racks or hooks in the upstairs bathroom. 5. The bed in the master bedroom is squeaky - the people who slept in it ended up wearing ear plugs to bed. 6. there are dogs wandering around the neighborhood, so watch your step (dog poops). The dogs are very friendly. 7. I had to text for check-in instructions - they didn't come automatically through VRBO. Check in is VERY easy, but if you don't get the instructions, just text. The owner replied within a few minutes.

This was a great house, quiet and out of the way and centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula.

Renting was easy and efficient, contact was friendly and quick to respond. A great first week in Alaska.

Great Spot

We had a great stay in Cooper Landing at Bear's place. The location is super convenient for fishing on the Kenai and things to do in Seward. Everything was clean and comfortable and the house was well stocked. We had no problem preparing meals in the house. We loved the big windows to see out in all directions to enjoy the beauty of the area. Plenty of beds for everybody in our group however a few were a bit soft for our liking (queen). One other thing to mention is the blinds in the bedrooms don't make it pitch black so if you are sensitive to light you may want a mask or something to help you sleep at night. Not an issue for us. Thanks for sharing your Alaska home with us!
