LAKE HIAWATHA COTTAGE

Come stay at our unique "Little Piece of Heaven". Just one mile from Main Street (but you'd never know it). Concrete driveway for cottage and paved road to property. Nice, quiet, well equipped for your weekend, week, or month for your stay with us. Private, yet close to downtown. Cottage has city water, central air & heat, small tv/dvd with basic cable, kitchen has dishes, bathroom has shower with towels, and bedroom has linens for the king size bed and queen sofa sleeper. Wrap around porch. Grill and charcoal provided and corn to feed and watch the geese and deer.
When in drought conditions: please check for water level of lake by calling owners if this would be a concern to you. Only canoe and catch and release fishing permitted when lake is full. No swimming permitted because of stagnant water. Wooded, Aguas Indias Nature Area across the small lake. No homes around, other than our two rental homes. Medina River and Medina Lake minutes away. Go to the Bandera Convention Center to pick up literature of places to go for events and other information ie.: motorcycle rallies, runs, parades, rodeos, horseback riding, etc.

Our Anniversary Go - To.

We have been stayed at this property for a total of 4 times. We have stayed here for our anniversary. The location, access and seclusion is what we wanted from a cabin in Bandera. The owners are quick to response to any questions we may have. We will be staying here annually for as long as our health will allow.

First class!!

The cottage was awesome and very charming. My husband and I enjoyed sitting outside in the early morning and watching the ducks and deer. It was perfect for us. Margaret was a first class host. We will definitely be back!!

LAKE HIAWATHA COTTAGE

A very nice and relaxed stay in Bandera. It was a bummer that the lake was dry. We are hoping for some rain for Bandera and the hill country. We really enjoyed hiking in parks and coming home and having a nice dinner at the house and hanging out. Nice wrap around porch.

Peaceful & Quiet - A Place to Unplug and Recharge

Perfect get away. Quiet but easy access to Bandera and the surrounding activities. The property is great for a couple to unplug and unwind. One note is no wifi. There’s everything else you need. We really enjoyed our stay and the host was easy to contact if any questions arose! Highly recommend!!

3 days to explore area

We wanted a unique experience while exploring Bandera and the area. The cottage was cozy, clean, comfortable and quiet. There were 13 deer in the yard one evening! There were wildflowers and butterflies too. We enjoyed our stay. We wished for Wi-Fi service to plan our day trips and restaurant options. We can recommend the Trailboss restaurant and Don Cheppe’s for Mexican food.

It really doesn't get any better than this. Feels like you are miles out in the country, but really only a couple minutes from main street. Beautiful large property with lots of trees. Tons of deer roaming in the morning and evening. Cabin is stocked with everything you would ever need. Owners super nice and responsive. Just a great place to stay in Bandera.

Excellent start/end point!

Just a little over a mile from downtown Bandera with wildlife all around. It was a great jumping off point for our multiple daily motorcycle rides including the Sisters. Lots of parking on paved surfaces. Other home on property is super quiet. Never even saw them. It isn’t 5-star but super comfortable. If you’re tall/big, the shower might be a challenge but it does the trick! The 6’2” hubby got the job done every evening lol! Corn available to put out for the deer. Lots of birds including birds of prey. Small lake behind the house. It was a very relaxing place to end our days!
