Fell through 2 hours before check-in

We were very disappointed to learn just prior to check-in that the property has been rented and is therefore unavailable for short-term rental. I don’t understand how it could still be listed as available under these circumstances. We had to scramble to find an alternative solution for a dad-daughter birthday outing, and given the late notice, all of the locations that had previously shown as available were no longer free. I was required to give star ratings for items like check in and cleanliness, but they should be disregarded since we never actually saw the property. I am only posting because I am hopeful that this situation does not happen to anyone else.

The property was in a good location and the apartment itself was attractive. We came with four people- one bedroom was okay but they other had no lighting whatsoever and wr got there at dusk. There were two towels! We found the rest in the dryer the next day when we washed the ones we found but leaving them out would have been helpful. The “concierge” was the building manager would would help with broken fixtures but not responsible for anything else. I did appreciate that he scrounged up some shampoos for us at my pleading. The company gave a number offsite we could text only, and heard from the next day. We couldn’t find shampoo or soap - ultimately found some shampoo buried in a cabinet. If you’re prepared with your own stuff for a long visit it’s okay. When you come to a hotel you expect some basics. The property was pretty. The owners should put out a little manual or script describing amenities like I see in other rentals. It suited our purposes.
