The Haven - Kiamichi Mountain Riverside Cabin

The Haven is a riverside cabin nestled in the Kiamichi Mountains on the banks of beautiful Little River. It’s a remote location and serenity at it's best. NO PETS ALLOWED!

The Haven has two bedrooms. One has a queen bed and one has a twin bunk bed. The living room is equipped with a sleeper sofa. The Haven also has a fully furnished kitchen, a walk around deck, separate riverside deck with table, fire pit, and a picnic area. The Haven is located right on the river, which has black bass, small mouth, bluegill, and some catfish perfect for Spring and Summer fishing or kayaking for the whole family. Kayaks are provided no extra charge. Firewood for fire pit is also provided no extra charge. In order to keep our cabin as clean as possible for every guest no pets are allowed at the Haven.

It’s located 20 miles from Clayton, OK, 42 miles from Antlers, OK, 63 miles from Hugo, OK, 35 miles from Smithville, OK, and 49 miles from Hochatown, OK.

Beautiful… Peaceful… Relaxing… Best way to sum up this piece of paradise! Within 10 min of arriving we decided we were coming back soon! Morning coffee on the deck with the sounds of the water nearby was the perfect way to start the day. Our 3 day stay turned into four. Best anniversary trip! Host was amazing! They even dropped us up stream to kayak our way back. Can’t wait for our next stay!

The Haven is amazing. The cabin was very clean and had everything I needed. It has a multi zone A/C system so comfort level for each room can be controlled separately. This is a secluded property with private access and plenty of personality. I spent several hours looking at places in a broad location across multiple states. Trust me when I tell you that this is the best deal you will find for all this place has to offer. Do yourself a favor and book The Haven, you can thank me later.

Awesome getaway

This place is exactly as described. It was beautiful and peaceful. The owners were friendly and helpful. It was clean and well stocked. We went fishing and used the kayaks. We hope to go back one day!

The Haven property has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes that I have found in Southern Oklahoma. The house was spotless and well kept. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The hosts were responsive and provided the necessary instructions. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Relax along the bluff

We sat outside under the covered porch talked about life and enjoyed the sounds of the birds chirping, the River rushing, peace and quiet. Beds were comfortable. We slept almost 12 hours. We fished, saw the orange-throat darter, big green stink bug, turtle and geese. Played games of uno and watched TV.

A dream!

This property was truly a dream! It exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The property around the cabin was beautiful and so fun to explore. My husband and son fished and played in the water. We had the best time and will return!

Easy river access

Cabin was directly on the river with an amazing view right from the front door. Perfect for fishing, swimming, and kayaking.

What a great long weekend

Everything is just as pictured and the use of the kayaks on site even made our stay batter. The hosts were friendly and helpful which is always nice. The river was low due to no rain but we still enjoyed ourselves. The hot days let me get a good nap on the comfy couch.

Great place to get away

We loved The Haven. I wanted to get away from the city and work and this was the perfect spot. The cabin was perfect for us and the kitchen is great. Heather was a great host and was very easy to communicate with. Make sure you bring water shoes if you plan on playing in the river as it has a rocky bottom. My favorite part was mindlessly floating on the river and listening to nature.

Picked for wrong reason in mind

As far as the cabin, excellent, check in was so easy, never seen anyone, talked to Heather on phone only, when I did contact her, very helpful and kind. When we walked in, soothing music playing. We wanted to relax, it was perfect for me, but the main reasoning for this trip was my husband hasnt been fishing in along time, it was his vacation from work, to go fishing. No easy access to fish, are even easy access to put the kayaks in the water, and you have to get them yourself. My husband and I walked down the side of the steep hill to fish, it was more work trying to fish. Were 61 and 59 years of age. We did load up 2 kayaks, brought back to the cabin, they stayed in the truck overnight and brought back the next day. Not an easy access to put them in the water at all. We checked out a day early and went home. Overall if you want to get away from the face pace of life, enjoy a beautiful scenery, stay in a beautiful and very nice cabin , no one bothering you at all, enjoy a fire pit, wood provided, a cabin with everything, where all you have to bring is your clothes and food. Sat on the back porch enjoying nature and overlooking the river, watching turtles, I would diffently recommend this place. I would truly love to come back and enjoy some TLC, without a pole lol.

Lovely spot, peaceful and fun!!

We spent Memorial Day weekend fishing in the river (which was great!), hiking in the area, swimming, reading and eating great food. The Haven was the perfect spot to rest, relax, explore, and is just enough off the grid to feel like you have the land and river all to yourself. We will be back!!

Beautuful, peaceful cabin

Everything was good. The area is beautiful, but rather remote. The owner communicated ahead of time about the cabin, to make sure we brought ice as the closest store is 25 minutes away. She also dropped off kayaks for us to use. The cabin itself is very comfortable and clean. The owners put some effort into creating lovely paths and areas around the cabin.

Amazing Getaway

We had the best time at this property. The peace and serenity are second to none. We woke up to the babbling river, fished all day, and dined under the bright stars at night. We will be back. We left our hearts here.

Perfect starry night

This remote cabin is a hidden gem! You get the beauty of nature and star gazing but the cleanliness and modern amenities in the cozy cabin. The hosts were so helpful and kind. Our family loved this place!

The Haven...great cabin

I have stayed in 13 cabins in southeastern Oklahoma during the past 16 years. The Haven is one of the nicest cabins for sure, super clean and stocked with everything one might need during a visit. Best feature of this cabin is that it sides on the bank of Little River. Hope to make another visit in the near future. Gary D.

Wow.

We all loved this place! Absolutely beautiful. Heather let us check in early, and check out late. Loved the kayaking and river. Was a big hit with the whole group. We were already making plans to come back again.
