Quaint Downtown Cottage

**Astoria is currently undergoing a construction boom all over town so there may be some construction noise during the day.



Enjoy the  fantastic proximity to downtown while staying at our quiet and comfortable Quaint Downtown Cottage. Just steps from the original settlement in the historic district, our cottage is within a few blocks of multiple museums, restaurants, the Ft. George and other breweries, the Bow Picker and the riverwalk. This cottage features off street parking (a rare find in downtown), laundry and kitchen. Park your car,  and walk to everything.



Our one bedroom cottage can sleep 2 persons in the bedroom (queen bed), 2 more on the fantastic Murphy bed (queen) in the living room and another person on the pull out bed (twin) within the ottoman. All beds have quality, well supported memory foam mattresses. We have a full kitchen (fully stocked) and bathroom. Situated in the historic district our cottage was rebuilt in 1980 but is surround by beautiful historic architecture while maintaining a large green space.



Usage of the sidewalk and stairs to Exchange Street is allowed while maintaining quiet respect for  the long-term tenants in the adjacent/close apartment building.  The large lawn beacons, but because of a 7ft drop to Exchange Street we require guests and their pets to stay within the boundary of the fence.



We offer a secure keyless code entry that will be unique to every booking. We live very close and are available if the need arises. We provide a house manual with suggestions for activities, restaurants and house rules.



Live like a local while staying in our Quaint Downtown Cottage and enjoy being located in Astoria's historic district where a variety of beautifully restored Victorian, Mediterranean, Tudor and Craftsman homes and buildings can be seen.



Although we accept pets, we charge an additional fee of $20/pet/night (max 2 pets allowed) to accommodate for the additional cleaning required.

The photos of the view aren't accurate. I was looking for a water view, and photos on VRBO show this unit has a view of the river, but instead there is a view of a big apartment building that was being constructed. When I called VRBO, they said that this issue falls into what they deem a "minor" issue. I consider it false advertising. They refused to return our and we had no choice but to stay there. In the sparsely supplied kitchen we noticed the electric teapot has a plug designed for international wall plugs, which this place doesn't have. The location was awesome, and they did have a dvd player with a copy of the Goonies to watch, but that's about it.

The location was outstanding with easy access on foot to eveything in downtown Astoria. Check-in process and instruction were clear and easy to follow. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed and spacious for a house under 800 sq. ft. While we enjoyed the house and our stay very much, I was a little shocked and disappointed that the view is no longer of the river, but of a 3-story building under construction. Might consider updating the listing picture.

We had a wonderful stay in Astoria. The property was great and centrally located. We enjoyed activities from Long Beach to Seaside. We were able to take our two dogs everywhere.

Charming spot for an Astoria visit

The house is in a wonderful location to walk to anywhere in town, and has great river views. I was very impressed with how clean and organized it he space was. Lots of thoughtful details in the living room of furniture pieces with multiple uses. Communication with the hosts was also prompt. Love having a little green space around the property as well.

5 stars to Cindy and Jacob for keeping a clean beautiful cottage!2nd year we have stayed here and quality is superb!Comfortable bed, cute, clean octopus themed bathroom, full kitchen, and great living room with TV streaming services. Great location to harbor and Main Street!Went to Seaside this time; beautiful walk along pacific!Private, close parking lot. Cannot say enough about this cottage!We will be back a 3rd time!

Wonderful stay

This was a great spot to stay in a great location. The rental was very clean and well maintained. Hosts were very clear in communicating all logistics prior to arrival. We loved the walkability from the rental around town. Would love to come back next time we are in Astoria. Thank you!

Third time there

This is our third stay. Perfect for wandering Astoria. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Internet is awful: very slow and drops out all the time. Used my phone as a hotspot. But worth it, we will be back.

Downtown Location With A View

We needed a one night stay on our trip home and found this little cottage. Easy to book, super clean and the hosts were great to work with. Within walking distance to shops places to eat and trails to walk our dog. Loved it!!!

Astoria adventure

We loved the location and walked to most of our destinations. Lots to do in Astoria and several restaurants and bars very close. 5 stars for sure!

Disappointed…

The good stuff - we were able to check in early, the w/d worked, the view out the front window was good and the location was central to things. The not good - cost. And the place is tired and worn. My college dorm room was cleaner and nicer. There is not a coffee maker as the listing states, just an electric kettle and the “drip cup” which the owner said was their “coffee system”. There is a distinct musty/stale odor in the house and when hoping to air out by opening windows, found the only window with a screen was not able to be opened. You have to be standing in front of the window to get the great view. There is only one end table in LR and only 1 bedside table in BR yet there is room for both. If you are on the “not side”, your phone, glasses and water are on the floor. The sheets are thin and worn and the towels equally worn. The only fan found was very dirty. The cloth seats to the table were dirty and needed cleaning. There was dog hair on the only place to sit in the LR. The kitchen is poorly stocked and unsure I would want to cook or eat in the place. It was missing very simple conveniences and niceties with would cost the owner very little and made all the difference. We were so disappointed, especially based on prior posted reviews and the $$$$ price. For what this place cost, it should have and easily could have been comfortable. In hindsight, the Hampton Inn would have been better and about 1/2 the cost.

Downtown Charm

This house has everything needed for a getaway with a great view of the river and passing ships. Best of all though is the location…you are within walking distance of everything. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice cottage, great location

This cute little cottage is clean, well maintained and nicely stocked. The beds are comfortable. The river view from the front of the house is really nice and the location is perfect for walking to all of the local museums, restaurants and the riverwalk.
