Lakefront Cottage near Adirondacks, Pontoon Boat, Sunroom, 2 Kayaks & Canoe

Wake up on the water’s edge at Oak Hill Cottage. The first level offers an open floor plan with hardwood floors and plenty of room to gather and view the lake. The second level continues with hardwood floors and includes 2 bedrooms and a quiet sitting area. A separate sunroom, full of games and activities, sits adjacent to the dock and provides views of beautiful protected state land and the length of Trout Lake. Find yourself on the dock for outdoor dining, to lounge in comfortable chairs with a view, or to take off in the provided pontoon boat with 20 hp motor. The shoreline supplies a sandy, gradual decline into the water, two kayaks and a canoe, and ample space to take it all in with a fire pit and surrounding Adirondack chairs.

Guests must provide their own sheets and towels (2 queen beds, 1 queen pull out bed, 2 twin beds).

Pets allowed-there is a pet fee of $50 per pet

Property was even better than expected! Exactly what my family was hoping for. We had a great time fishing, boating and relaxing by the fire, with an amazing view. Property was clean and had the all the necessities we needed. Owners were kind and accommodating. We will be booking again for next year!

My family’s stay was the best! The cottage has everything you need, comfortable with peaceful surroundings. The lake is a nice size but not overly busy - fishing was good too. Owners very responsive if anything needed. Highly recommend!

Best location on the lake!

The kitchen was very well stocked. Plenty of pots and pans and even an electric griddle for making pancakes. The refrigerator in the boat house saves lots of trips when you want to spend the day fishing on the dock. The foosball table was a delight for the grandkids (even though Grandpa was still able to beat them)!

Relaxing Family Retreat

Our family of 5 stayed for 4 nights with our golden retriever. Such a beautiful setting and very peaceful. We really enjoyed the pontoon boat and boat house. We swam in the lake every day. Highly recommend checking out the Rainbow Falls trail and Lampson Falls trail nearby. The host was very responsive and helpful. The place was clean and beds were comfy.

Beautiful Place for an Early Summer Vacation

We enjoyed every day to the fullest on trout lake. The pontoon boat was a definate plus! Went to both recommended places for dinner 2 Es and Jakes, excellent meals and friendly locals. We will be back for another stay!!

Wonderful!

We spent a peaceful September week fishing, kayaking and exploring the lake on the pontoon boat. This is a lovely property with pristine views and private access to the lake. We had a wonderful experience.

Relaxing week away

Sibling Vacation

We loved our stay at Oak Hill! The cottage was beautiful and the property was more than we could ever ask for. We fished, played games on the dock and took evening rides around the lake on the pontoon boat. We hope to come back for a repeat next year!

PERFECT lake get away

We had an absolute blast at the lakefront cottage. The pictures do not do this place justice, it truly is a slice of heaven. The house was spotless and the location was 10/10. We spent so much time on the dock, on the boat, using the kayak and paddle board, and relaxing in the boat house. S’mores every night around the fire pit- jt was an absolutely perfect vacation for our family. Thank you, we LOVED jt!!

Beautiful place deep in nature

We had a great time in this cabin. We enjoyed the boat and kayaks. It was so peaceful and pretty. The beds are comfortable and the house has everything one typically needs. The locals are kind and helpful. Note that stores are far away (25 minutes) so pack thoughtfully and make a grocery list when you go shopping.

Wonderful Secluded Lake Getaway

We used this location to gather with some friends from all over. The photos on the listing do not do justice to how beautiful and secluded this space is. The lake had very little traffic on it. We had great success fishing, and lots of fun tooling around in the pontoon boat. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. 100% would book a stay here again. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our time was here.

Perfect family time!

We had 5 wonderful days at this beautiful cottage. The house was clean and well stocked. We had plenty of room at the table to share meals with our family. The water was clear and swimming was a great relief in 90 degree weather. We kayaked and used the pontoon boat. Loons greeted us in the bay every morning and evening. We hated to leave this heavenly gem. Thank you Sarah for sharing this lovely cottage with us. We couldn't have asked for a better time!

Overall, one of our favorite places to have visited in ADK!

Everything was wonderful!!! Clean, comfortable, well equipped...having a pontoon boat was great! Enough room for all of us and the boxer! Nice sized kitchen area and plenty of relaxing space to unwind. The boat house with the Fooseball table was a lot of fun and having lots of firewood provided was definitely a huge plus! Only concern - VERY low ceilings in the main house... my husband is 6'4" - had to walk a bit stooped all week and be extra cautious up/down the stairs to the sleeping areas. We would definitely think of going back!!!

Our favorite place!!!

Trout Lake has been an annual summer trip for us for the last 7 years and this house is our favorite rental by far. The cottage is cozy, but well appointed. We love the extensive waterfront in this beautiful cove and spend most of our time on the pontoon, in kayaks, hanging out on the dock or in the game room, and playing in the beautifully clear water. This year there were brand new kayaks to use and a new paddle board! The pontoon is incredibly easy to use and provides tons of fun out on the lake. While we would love for one of the rooms to have a king bed, we have been comfortable with the queens offered, and the twin allows for an extra visitor or friend to come. We cant wait to book again for next summer. Sarah makes the process incredibly easy and we love staying at her rentals!

Beautiful cottage, clean, excellent view. We used the boat every day. It was gassed up and worked fine. There is a wood pile for camp fires. Muliple kyaks, canoes, and a stand up paddleboard. I saw loons on the lake (first time for me) and we heard owls at night. The fridge was clean and empty when we arrived...so you do need to bring any condiments, etc you might need. They do have salt & pepper. They have a kerig and a regular drip coffee pot. Highly recommend staying here...we hope to come back.

Adirondack paradise, family vacation getaway - outstanding

The location of this cottage is very private with ample lake frontage. The views and surrounding wilderness are gorgeous. The sunsets amazing and water pristine. We spent a lot of time lakeside and on the large docks and in the new dock house. Super nice. Accommodations included use of the pontoon boat, kayaks (2), canoe and rushing boat - abundance! We enojoyed swimming in what was relatively warm water for location and year. The fishing is apparently great (though we don’t fish). The cottage is lovely, melding old with new (updates, including new windows, siding floors), resulting in cozy attractive accommodations with character. The owners were proactive, informative and pleasant. Accommodations were very clean and everything we needed to get started was provided. Small towns nearby offer groceries, restaurants and gift shops. We had a wonderful family vacation that exceeded our expectations.

The house was immaculate. Cleanest house we have ever rented on a lake. There is a hill to get down to the house and a path and stairs to get to the lake. As private as it is stated in the description/shown in pictures, there’s a house facing the dock to the right (within the cove) and directly to the left when standing on the dock. However, both houses were mainly empty for most of the week giving us the pricacy as described. We did have an issue with hot water. The hosts responded immediately with local and very friendly supports to address the issue-issue on Saturday, full hot water by Monday. The lake was great. Warm and inviting. Best part was it was weedless in our area. It had a bulkhead with stairs to get in. The house wifi unfortunately didn’t reach down to the dock and many outlets didn’t work in the game room so it was difficult to play music from our phones via wifi/bluetooth. Other than the above mentioned issues, our week was great. Plenty of fishing spots. Small mouth bass, Pumpkin Seed, and saw a Perch. The use of the kayaks was fun to fish from. We had 90% great weather with a few storms that rolled through. Swimming in the rain was refreshing. On the very hot days the bedrooms had window air conditioning which came in handy. The lake was like glass every morning making kayaking very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Great place!

We loved it! It was like pictured and maybe the cleanest house I've ever rented. It was secluded and so peaceful. It was rustic yet had everything you needed. My only critique is that my husband is 6'4 and he had some trouble in the bedrooms near the beds and standing downstairs (except the kitchen). So, just a heads up for the tall folks, you may want to consider this!

Perfect, peaceful lake house

What a wonderful week our family of four had. Everything was as described. We enjoyed exploring the lake, making a fire each evening, and using the pontoon boat, kayaks and canoe.
