Chez Desire (EI) our Peaceful, cosy 2 bedroom gite, with private heated pool!

Semi rural 2 bedroom Gite, sleeps 4.1 double bedroom and 2 single beds in the second both having wardrobe space, small separate toilet and a double shower room. Fully fitted kitchen and dining area. Cozy living room with double sofa bed,log burner, tv/sky box, outside patio area with barbecue and garden leading to the heated 10 x 5 metre fenced pool for guests only. The gite is detached from the main house and the garden is split to give privacy outside and around the pool to guests.

JONZAC
Less than a ten minute drive.
This is the nearest town where all your amenities are. Good supermarkets, lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Two theatres and a cinema. Swimming pool complex fed by the thermal springs and a treatment centre. Covered market for fresh produce locally supplied accompanied by lots of stalls all around the square.

The medieval town of Pons is only 25 mins away and host some good events through the summer. The battle re-enactment with jousting is a spectacular day out.

Montendre is 15 mins in the other direction and has a large street market every Thursday.
Twin lakes is situated here and is great for beginners and keen anglers plus a beautiful place to have lunch or supper.

LOCALITY

In a quiet village that has Restaurant/Bar.
Lake for fishing and picnics, a walkable 24/7 Supermarket open from August 2024.

Jonzac is 6km renown for its hot water springs.
The coast is 40 mins away with sandy beaches.
Bordeaux 1hr, Cognac 40 mins, 2 Airports within 1hr 30mins.

Great family gite

We had a lovely week at Chez Desire. The gite is really well set up for a young family. Our kids (4 and 6) loved the pool (safely fenced and gated), huge trampoline, garden and toys. The gite has everything you might need for your stay. Jo and Dave were great hosts. The area is really pretty and we enjoyed trips to Pond, Jonzac, Blayeand the coast. If you’re looking for regular beach trips it might be a bit far as the coast is about an hour away but the pool more than makes up for that.

Nice property especially for family trips with children

The property owners Jo and Dave live on the site in a neighboring house and are very hospitable, caring, friendly and always available for a chat and take an interest that their guests have a pleasant stay. The heated seawater pool is very nice and in good shape and a gaming room (billard, darts, etc.), a nice garden (with trampolin, badminton, etc.) and various offers for games, reading and media make a stay pleasant especially also for kids. Jo and Dave speak excellent English as they are orginally coming from England. They are very kind and want you to enjoy your stay at their property. So all in all a very nice place to spent your family holidays.

Great gite with fantastic pool and lovely hosts

We had a fantastic fortnight staying in Jo and Dave's gite. The gite itself is cosy but has a lovely big comfy living room which was a great addition on the couple of rainy days. The covered terrace is a really nice place to eat/play games and the beds are comfy. The outside area is very spacious and my two boys (6 and 10) LOVED the big pool, the badminton and trampoline. The addition of the games room with pool table, table football and darts was fab, as well as lots of games in the cupboard. The gite is next to the main house, but Jo and Dave maintained a perfect balance of being there if we needed them, but also giving us our space and privacy. They gave us some great recommendations of things to do in the local area. We had a brilliant and very relaxing time. Theboutside area

Fabulous gite near Jonzac

Spent a great couple of weeks in this Gite, which is ideal for a self-catering holiday in Jonzac. Jo and Dave seem to have thought of everything to create a perfect holiday and are wonderful hosts who will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The accommodation includes a spacious living room and well-equipped kitchen/dining area, and the facilities provided cater for people of all ages. There is a private heated pool, temperature of 24 degrees, perfect for swimming, which is set in a beautiful garden. The site also includes a private picnic area with a grassy children’s playground and a boules court. There is a games room with all sorts of activities, including table football and billiards. The Gite is located in a quiet area, within 10-15 minutes’ drive of two big supermarkets, the fantastic Les Antilles swimming complex and the attractive town of Jonzac. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Fijne vakantie

We hadden een super verblijf! We hebben genoten van de gastvrijheid van Jo en Dave. Het zwembad is een topper en ook de speelruimte was leuk.

Fijn huis en heerlijk zwembad

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad. Vooral dankzij het heerlijke verwarmde zwembad. We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door Jo en Dave. We kregen ook een welkomst snack. Kleine moeite groot plezier! Ook van de speelkamer werd door ons veel gebruik gemaakt, vooral biljarten en darten waren favoriet. De omgeving viel ons wel een beetje tegen. Er is niet heel veel te doen. Daarvoor moet je minimaal 45 minuten autorijden. Kortom een hele fijne plek om tot rust te komen.

Een fantastisch vakantieverblijf

Een zeer verzorgde vakantiewoning, waar alle voorzieningen aanwezig waren. Jo en David zijn fantastische en zeer hulpvaardige mensen. De kinderen hebben genoten van het grote en zeer verzorgde zwembad en ook van de speelzaal. Zeker een aanrader voor families met kinderen. Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie achter de rug. Wonderful- relaxing…. Just what we wanted

Clean and extremely well equipped gite, everything you could want is available. The games room was good for all ages and the pool superb, and the heating made a difference. The hosts Jo & Dave, helpful, informative and would interact as much as you want. Well situated for all supermarkets & shops in Jonzac. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would hope to return

Peaceful, rural, retreat with an excellent pool and games room

A clean and well equipped gite in a super quiet location (perhaps a car every 30 mins!) and yet only a 15 minute drive to hypermarkets, bakeries and the town of Jonzac. We all made very good use of the owners swimming pool (family with two boys ages 11 and 13) which was the same depth overall and which we had sole use of during our stay. Car hire is necessary; plenty to do in the area. We really enjoyed the citadel of Blaye and definately worth a visit. The gite was traditional but had all the modern comforts including WiFi, TNT TV & satellite DVD player, many DVDs and various games and gorgeous fairy lights outside. The owners Dave & Jo were so easy to get along with but also respected our privacy. We were greeted on arrival with a bespoke 'hamper' of goodies! Air conditioning would be an added bonus. Thoroughly recommend. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much Dave & Jo!!

Super relaxed, perfect zwembad. Genoten!

We hebben genoten! Het zwembad was top! De hosts, Jo en Dave waren aller aardigst. Op z'n tijd een gezellig praatje, maar ook de privacy in acht genomen. Zelfs een welkomst-mandje met snacks. De gite was schoon en heel compleet. (Koelbox, luchtbedden voor zwembad, oven) De 'gamehal' was een leuk extraatje. Voor 'activiteit' in de buurt moet je minimaal 20/30min rijden. Wellicht zou airco nog een toegevoegde waarde geven, maar nu was het tijdens ons verblijf ook wel erg heet (40°). Er waren wel 3 ventilatoren. We raden het iedereen aan!

Excellent séjour

Jo et Dave, originaire de Manchester, gèrent leur gîte avec beaucoup de bienveillance à l'égard de leurs hôtes. Ils sont à la fois très discrets et très disponibles. La maison est idéale pour un couple avec deux enfants. La maison est très bien équipée, rien ne manque, ni dans la cuisine, ni dans le salon (WiFi, TV TNT & satellite lecteur DVD, nombreux DVD et jeux divers). Nous avons été accueilli avec un panier d'accueil très généreux : 2 bouteilles de vin, des gâteaux, des bonbons, des chips, de l'eau, du lait, du café, ... La piscine est magnifique. Un séjour inoubliable, une adresse à recommander.
