Great location for a summer stay

Great location, size of condo, fully furnished and stocked. Problem with air conditioning was resolved as was bathtub replacement of fixtures. Would have been nice to know about these issues before I arrived. Would love to stay here again.

Great Condo & Location

We just returned home after 3 1/2 month stay at this lovely condo. It is conveniently located near the elevator on the top floor making the move in & out as well as picking up groceries etc. very easy. It is centrally located and allowed us easy freeway access to travel both north & south. Owners are delightful and responded promptly to any questions we had. We loved the pool & fitness center and used both almost every day.

Good, but......

Some glitches occurred but nothing major. People before us had pets and I have allergies. Cleaning girl did a great job but we got in late. The pool was not heated and the weather was cold. Hot tub was good. Condo has all the necessary conveniences. Great location.

Sub-Standard Cleaning and Maintenance

Our experience with this apartment was extremely disappointing. The problems we encountered fall into two categories: cleaning and maintenance. When we arrived, it was immediately evident that the apartment was far from adequately clean. The entryway runner was soiled and covered with spots; the kitchen floor was so dirty that we had wash it four times; the range was covered with grease. It was also obvious that little or no dusting had been done for a long time. Dust covered the shelves in the living room and kitchen, the floor and jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Moreover, the showers were on the grungy side with lime deposits on the walls; the outside patio deck was astonishingly dirty, and the barbeque there had food on the grill from former guests. For these reasons, as much as we like grilling, we chose not to use the barbeque during our stay. As for maintenance, the linoleum kitchen floor has a sizeable piece missing, and the hardwood floors in two rooms are badly in need of refinishing. When we arrived, we found the towel rack in the second bathroom on the floor, various ceiling lights burned out, the living room TV not working, the GFIs and other electrical outlets inoperative. It took four phone calls over two days to get the Irvine property manager to answer us. When we asked why she hadn't answered our earlier calls, she said she was "in the field" and "didn't get them." To her credit, when she responded, she did send out very capable and cooperative people to deal with the various problems. We do want to emphasize that the owner, who was out of the country, was admirably responsive in that he spoke in a timely fashion with the property manager about these problems, and also made arrangements for a Cox technician to come to the apartment to fix the living room TV. However, the salient point here is that as paying guests we should not have had to spend our precious vacation time encountering these issues, coordinating the various repair people, and doing a good deal of dusting and scrubbing on our own. All of these issues (and others we could name) should have been addressed before we arrived. The result of all of these negatives was that we left the apartment a week early. To us, this was a real shame because we genuinely enjoyed the building itself. It's a lovely condo complex with a sparkling pool, exceptionally nice landscaping, and helpful, friendly people at the entry gate.

Tropical Paradise Indeed!

I have just arrived back home after 3 fabulous months staying at this property. The condo is located on the top floor (4th floor) overlooking the pool. It has a balcony with BBQ where you can sit and enjoy the views. The owners have the penthouse stocked with everything you could possibly need. I never once needed something that wasn't already there. The condo has a stackable washer/dryer that made life very easy. We had a dedicated parking spot in the parking garage that was right by the elevator. There is plenty of guest parking too. Every morning I walked the condo grounds. There is a walking path that is approx. 1/3 mile. It winds around behind the buildings is lined with palm trees and grassy areas. It is very peaceful and a great way to get your day started. Although the Metropolitan is close to John Wayne Airport, the only noise I ever heard was from an occasional helicopter. The Metropolitan is within 8-10 minutes to Fashion Island and Balboa Island. There is a major shopping center (Target, Starbucks, Costco, Wholefoods, Homegoods etc) just 6 minutes north of the complex. The owners Rael and Andrea are wonderful! All of my questions during my stay were answered immediately. My deposit was returned to me the same day I departed. I highly recommend this unit and look forward to my next visit!!

Exceeded our expectations - thank you

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful apartment which was well located in southern California. The property has many amenities such as steam shower, fireplace, outside BBQ with very clear instructions / details on how to use. All in all it exceeded our expectations. Finally, the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Super efficient, prompt with any queries or enquires that we had. This is what compelled us to write this review. (we are not review people !!) Thank you for making it a most enjoyable stay where we were there for approx 32 days.

Beautiful Property

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Loved the pool, fitness, hot tub and lovely grounds. The condo was well-equipped and very comfortable. The owners were most helpful and the security staff and management were excellent. We highly recommend this home.

Excellent!

This will be our 6th year in row coming to this beautiful oasis. We love the top floor overlooking the gorgeous pool and palm trees. Sitting on the top deck with beautiful birds and sun is the best way to spend a holiday away from snow. This condo has everything you need. Home away from home. Good location

Location was great for shopping, dining, and not very far from Disneyland. Leaving early to Disneyland, the traffic was mostly coming from the other direction so it was an easy 15-20 minute drive to the parking garage. Some mornings the airplanes were a little loud during the week around 7am, but other than that I didn't really notice it. Furnishings were modern and nice. We had 4 adults and one child and there was plenty of room. The location also felt very safe and secure.

This isi a wonderful get-a-way and met our expectations. Nicely furnished with all kitchen, bath, and bedroom needs., Pool and hot tub were very relaxing and quiet. Neighbors were friendly, but not obstusive. Plenty of great eateries around and very convenient to beaches and shopping. Although very close to the airport, we never heard a plane. The condo is very well lighted and comfortable.

Fabulous Property

We’ve just returned from our stay in Irvine. This penthouse is outstanding. We’d looked at the pictures and watched the video but our reaction when we walked through the door was still “wow!’. Our feedback is: extremely clean unit, beautiful grounds, very quiet (the nearby airport didn’t bother us), very comfortable beds, excellent in-suite laundry facilities, every appliance – both large and small - that we could ever need, thorough, easy-to-follow instructions about how to run / use / take care of everything, friendly people in the complex, excellent location for exploring inland and coastal areas of SoCal (10 minute drive to the ocean, 90 minutes or so to San Diego, 90 minutes to Palm Springs (our arrival and departure airport) about an hour to Los Angeles), excellent neighbourhood shopping centres, full entertainment system (we particularly liked the whole-house music when we were spending time “at home”), fully equipped office (monitor, printer, keyboard – hooked up our laptop and were good to go, very fast wi-fi), lots of storage for all of our “stuff”, great B-B-Q (especially the piped gas), loved the jetted tub and the steam shower (the unit has superior water pressure). And, we know we had neighbours on both sides but never heard a sound through the walls. Owners Rael and Angela could not have been better. Angela checked us in. Her tour and introduction were thorough and entertaining (an extraordinarily interesting person with a wonderful sense of humour). Our emails to Rael before, during and after our stay were all answered promptly. Our security deposit was returned to us within a couple of days of arriving home. In summary, we highly recommend these people and this property. When / if we return to SoCal, this is where we want to stay.

Paradise in Irvine

This place was fantastic! I mainly wanted to rent this apartment because of THAT couch. And yes, it is as comfortable as it looks. I could sleep on that every day. The steam shower was a very nice addition. It was great for morning wake up and after workouts. The kitchen is well stocked and very clean. The appliances are high end and work great. The beds are VERY comfortable, with tons of linen selections. The unit is very quiet. We barely saw anyone in the pool/spa area, and it was wonderful. The only problem is the gym (very old and run down equipment), but that is a knock against the facility, and not this apartment. Besides, there are 3-4 high quality gyms within 2-3 blocks and we just went gym-hopping. I am definitely coming back. Also, each room has a flat screen, with HDMI connections. We hooked up the IPAD and watched movies via netflix/apple TV. Recommended fo romantic get-away/seniors.

Lovely and Quiet

Our family stayed here for a week in April 2011. The condo and grounds are beautiful and we really appreciated the quiet. It is very close to John Wayne Airport but we rarely heard or saw any planes. The property manager, Colin, was especially helpful. Our flight was rescheduled and he went out of his way to make sure we had our keys and access to the unit. It was very reassuring to know that we was readily available if needed.

I had a great experience Renting this condo

A client needed some advertising design for a last minute presentation to a fortune 500 company, luckily the condo was available between guest for the weekend. A quick drive from my home in San Diego to Irvine, Great place, my clients were very impressed, great sound system, had a really nice BBQ, and the weather was so warm that weekend, I was able to enjoy the jacuzzi and the pool. The place was clean, nice penthouse New York Stye Loft. Close to Irvine Spectrum which has the greatest shopping in Orange County, all in a a good weekend, hopefully the place will be available the next time i need a quick weened trip to Irvine.

Renter Beware..."All that glitters..."

We have been renting condo properties for many years - this is our 1st bad experience. The unit is attractive with some nice features. The sound system is high-end but complicated. TV channels in living room can only be controlled by sitting on far end of sofa and aiming remote (there's 4of them) into 2nd bedroom. YOU are the volume adjustment by getting up and going in 2nd bedrm to change. The same applies to the master bedrm - no volume control without getting up each time. We had 6 weeks of exercise. The pool is not heated and lots of airplane noise til 11 pm. During our stay we had plumbing & appliance issues. These issues took considerable time & effort on our part since owner lives out of country. We made all arrangements for repairs and services. We lost refrigeration for 4 days & had to eat all meals out. Owner was nice & appreciative until compensation time. He assured us he would be fair & refund us for our time,effort & extra expense. Didn't happen...he returned our security deposit (which is required in agreement) plus refrigerator food loss(he had a warranty for food loss)...plus a few extra dollars...not coming close to our time, effort and expense. His final email to us..."..sorry you're disappointed.." Needless to say we are NOT recommending this unit...promises made and not kept leaves us very disappointed in our stay.

Stylish, wonderful, and clean

We really enjoyed the condo- it is very stylish, clean, and worked very well for our needs- the owner has thought of everything- my family very much enjoyed it and will definitely return in the future. My son is allergic to dust-mites, so the low-allergen environment was a savior for our trip! Also, super convenient since it is so close to the airport, but no noise at all. Ping
