Current river 2024

Great time on the river. This place is perfect for a float/canoe trip. Plenty of beds for everyone and plenty of space ti grill out and play bags.

Labor Day Weekend Float Trip

We enjoyed the home during our stay. The air conditioning worked great and the beds were comfortable. Thanks for providing wood to burn in the fire pit and we also enjoyed playing bags in the driveway.

Property is prime location for floating the jacks fork and current river. Very spacious! Fits the need for a cool place to stay and cook

Extremely disappointing second visitWe stayed at this property for a river trip to Eminence. This was actually our second time booking here because our first visit was fine and sufficient, but this trip was a completely different story.Cleanliness & Maintenance: Upon arrival, the outdoor trash cans were already overflowing, and there was trash crawling with maggots right by the outside kitchen door. Inside, the sink in the main hallway bathroom was actively leaking, and the home was completely unstocked—there were no paper products and no hand soap provided anywhere.Broken AC Issues: After being out on the river all day in 90 degree heat, we returned to find the air conditioning not working. The host controls the thermostat remotely from her phone and can turn it on and off at will. When we contacted her, she blamed our group, claiming the AC failed because we had "opened the doors too much"—even though the entire house had been empty for the previous nine hours.Unbearable Conditions: The AC never came back on. By 5:00 AM, the inside of the house was 85 degrees—a full 10 degrees hotter than it was outside. Our entire group spent a miserable night unable to sleep.The host offered little sympathy and refused any sort of refund or resolution for the conditions. We will not be returning to this property.

Great house

I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. The place has a rustic beauty as well as having everything folks would need or want to make their vacation exceptional. The rooms are spacious and there is a terrific fire pit right on the premises. The beds are super comfy and the decor is antique and distressed throughout the house. We really enjoyed staying at this house.

Fun and affordable

Me and my group of friends stayed here to float on the ruver and had a great time. A lot of amenities and a large driveway to park trailer and trucks if your hauling side by sides down for trail riding. Over all pretty cozy little house.

Friends float trip

House was a great place for a bunch of friends who were coming from all over, plenty of space for all of us. Loved that we had a kitchen so that we were all able to cook together

Good river stay!

We had a very large group- enjoyed the space to spread out. Lots of outdoor room to gather - my family used the bag boards for a couple tournaments and there was more than enough parking to accommodate 5 cars and the tournament. Had everything we could have needed to make our annual trip to the river enjoyable and comfortable!

Friends and family weekend

This property had easy check in. Basic kitchen facilities. WiFi was easy accessible and it was reliable. We had 3 vehicles and had ample parking. Quiet neighborhood while we were there July 31-Aug 2. We were outside most of the time so we played cornhole ( our set and host set) and our spikeball set. We used the charcoal grill for 2 nights and had a great time.

Awesome rustic stay

House was great. Had personality, a lot of room and all the amenities. I was worried about the basement due to some other reviews but it was great down there, just half-finished and concrete floors. Host was super responsive and helpful with tips for the area. Would definitely stay here again on a group trip. Thanks Lori!

Emminence house

Location was great plenty of room inside and out. Lots of parking. We had no wifi access and communication with manager was slow as we only used emails. She did pass her number and said feel free to call but never answered or returned a call. Overall, those were minor issues and was happy with our rental and would do so again

Jacks Fork Float

The house was as previously reviewed. Everything worked and was AC nice and cool when we arrived, 90+ outside. The Basement 2 bedrooms are available for sleeping, but our group avoided. everything else was fine. Bag Chairs and cornhole game was nice bonus under the carport.

Annual Adults Only Float Trip

Every year we go on a float trip to Eminence with our adult kids and spouses. This house had everything we needed. Big enough for us to all spread out and have some privacy. We were especially thrilled with the 2 full bathrooms and 1/2 bathroom. We enjoyed sitting outside each night under the large carport where bag chairs were provided as well as citronella candles and bug spray which was a very nice touch! This house is in a quiet neighborhood yet only a few blocks from Main Street. Wendy’s Canoe Rental picked us up at the house each day. Thoroughly enjoyed our quality time together!

Sleeps plenty, convenient for floating. Old house.

Pro's‐ Harvey Canoe picked our group up and dropped us off after a great float on the Current River. Plenty of beds. Small fire pit outside. Cheaper than hotel for many guests. Kitchen works.Con's‐ Weird bathroom toilet downstairs on an elevated slab and is shakey. Older house with some areas not renovated. Creaky floors. 1 bed very creaky with any movement. WiFi password not written down or emailed and couldn't connect. Contacted host- wrote next day.
To quote George from Seinfeld, "feel like a gargoyle perched on a building"

Terrible

We got there and found the toilet was falling over and the floor was rotted around it. There was tiles missing all over the bars of soap all over the floor there was.

Float Trip

The house is exactly what you’d expect based on listing and photos. It is very clean and smells nice. There were around 8 lawn chairs In the carport and a corn hole game. Regular coffee maker and keurig coffee maker and toaster. There are two queen bedrooms with tvs and a twin upstairs. A twin and king downstairs with another Rec space. Beds are comfortable with good pillows and blankets. We used Windys for the float trip. They were out of rafts so we just bought ours off Amazon and it was 10.00 cheaper and good quality (brand river run) l. They have you park at the ball field and shuttle you from there. They do not pick you up at the house which we thought would be a bummer but it’s only a mile to the house.

Good Place to Stay for Floating

Overall the house was okay. The beds were very uncomfortable and there were no pictures of the bedroom in the basement and out of the 3 couples staying in the house no one felt comfortable sleeping in the basement. The tv in the one bedroom didn’t work. The host was always very helpful and responsive.
