The Space:
The Manor resides on 3 secluded acres. Close to everything Southern Maryland has to offer, yet feels a million miles away.

The Courtyard Studio suite is tiny living at it's finest! Perfect for one person, but will accommodate two people who enjoy a minimalist footprint. Every inch of this suite is maximized to ensure you're not missing any luxuries in your cozy space.

The studio suite has a private courtyard with a fountain and sitting area and it's own private entrance. There are no spaces (other than the 3 acres of property grounds) that are shared with other guests or the owners.

The Courtyard Studio has a well equipped kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave and small sink as well as cutlery, dishes and a Keurig coffee maker.

You'll find a starter supply of coffee pods, sugar packets, toilet paper (3), and paper towels (1).

Your room is appointed with a 32 inch smart TV. BYOP to login to your Netflix, Hulu or Prime TV account and watch your favorite movie or show.

High Speed WIFI is available.

Your room has a comfortable, plush full size bed, as well as a sitting chair and side table for working or eating.

Everything in the studio - from the fixtures to the tile, to the furniture - is brand new.

Whether you're passing through for work or pleasure, this will become your favorite little getaway spot. You'll enjoy sitting in your own private brick courtyard with a cup of coffee in the morning or unwinding with glass of wine at sunset. Bring a book or a journal because there's something about this place that will inspire your inner creative.

The bathroom has a tiled stand up shower and pedestal sink. You'll also find premium shampoo, conditioner and body wash should you need it.

Enjoy your evenings in the courtyard while listening to your favorite podcast or reading a book. Grab some local meat/produce just up the road at The Chesapeake's Bounty and let us know if you'd like us to provide you a small charcoal grill to make a meal on. Or take a 5 minute stroll just down the road for a drink and dinner on the water at Vera's Beach Club.

Experience a piece of Southern Maryland history. Bancroft Manor was among the first homes along St Leonard's creek. Every square foot of this house has been renovated - but the unique Tidewater Maryland architecture remains.

Guest Access:
You have access to the Courtyard Studio Suite which is a one room accommodation (which is completely separate from the Main House) consisting of a bedroom/living room with a full size bed, a chair and side table and a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Guests will enjoy a small private courtyard with a fountain and a separate, private entrance.

Getting Around:
Everything SOMD has to offer is within a 10-15 minute drive -
Solomon's Island Boardwalk and restaurants, Calvert Cliffs State Park beaches and hiking, Fishing, boating and marinas are all within a short drive.

Beautiful location and quiet stay

Weekend getaway

I had a great experience staying here. The place was clean, nice and as expected. It was close to Calvert Cliffs State Park, along with many other attractions. The host was very helpful in providing recommendations. I would definitely go back.

Quaint, quiet, clean, close to everything!

If my 6 words didn’t summarize my stay, allow me elaborate. I had a wonderful time at the Manor. I traveled by myself so the room was perfect! It looks exactly like the posted pictures. Julie did a great job thinking of everything someone would need. My stay was rainy but it didn’t stop me from venturing out. I enjoyed being greeted by the chickens and I was able to get some beautiful pictures of cardinals on the property. The manor is perfect situated off the side road of a main road. You can’t miss it! Which makes it easy to navigate. Also, Julie gave the best directions and is a top notch host. While visiting, I went to a few places she suggested and had a blast! Ruddy Duck for crabcakes and The Tiki Bar for drinks and laughs with the locals. On my last night visiting I took pictures of the river and enjoyed the tranquillity of my stay. I look forward to returning.

Quiet and cozy.

Stayed with Julie for a quick get away weekend late in October. The leaves were just beginning to turn, so we missed it by about a week or two. Regardless, the area had lot of other thing to offer including a nice hike down to the Calvert Cliffs Beach. Upon our arrival, we found the unit to be very clean, but a bit on the small side. The decorum more then made up for it though by giving off a very cozy comforting, peaceful feeling. Not ideal for a long term stay, but certainly functional for a nice quiet weekend get away or a few days. We truly enjoyed our short stay and our host Julie was very responsive and available at all times if you needed her. This is a place I can see us going back to in the future.

Cozy Quiet Getaway

Had a really nice stay at the manor , the place was decorated beautifully and I was able to work from the apartment/ rest well after visiting with family in the area. Julie is also such a great host, there were many added touches to the space that made it so welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here!!

Exceptional accomodations

My stay at the Bancroft Cottage was perfect. The studio was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and the bed was so comfortable I slept almost 12 hours in a row. The studio is secure and private, ideal for a couple or for a single person. It proved to be the perfect starting point for several excursions into Solomon's Island, Saint Leonard and the Flag Pond hiking trail. I highly recommend!

Exactly what I needed

This very private property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The studio has everything you would need for a comfortable stay, including all must-have amenities like a Keurig and fridge. Julie has mastered small space living with this studio rental. It has a perfect balance of space and provided amenities. The studio was very clean and beautifully decorated. Check-in was a breeze and the provided area recommendations were great.

My New Getaway Spot

This quaint studio was beyond amazing! I was searching of somewhere near the water, but secluded and safe. I got all that and more! Julie was so kind and even provided me a list of restaurants and beaches nearby. The place was clean and designed beautifully. The bedsheet were soft and the mattress was comfortable. I spent the weekend reading and sipping tea. After 1 weekend here, I started planning for me next trip to my new getaway spot. :)

Cozy and charming

With a comfortable bed and excellent amenities such as Meyers toiletries and high quality linens, we felt pampered during our short stay. Julie was in close contact, especially when a snowstorm threatened. The studio and courtyard are tiny but beautifully decorated. Knowing there is only a full-size bed, and my husband being 6'4", we brought an air bed and slept fine. We saw the Christmas light display at Annmarie Sculpture Gardens, hiked at Greenway State Park and Calvert Cliffs State Park, dined out and ate in--had very full days and restful nights. It was a near-perfect getaway.

Quick Trip

This place is a real gem. I have never seen such perfect layout and finishing in a VRBO property. Every element of this space was selected thoughtfully. We had everything we needed for our stay. The photos are the real deal. Julie was lovely to work with. We will recommend and return.

That Extra Something Special

Believe your eyes, this wonderful little place is every bit as thoughtfully designed and lovingly maintained as the pictures say. Clearly, Julie takes pride in making her guests feel welcome, from the moment they enter and discover the snacks in the foyer. I loved the buttery soft sheets, and the massage-like feel of the natural polished stones in the shower. A frequent traveller learns to seek out, and to savor, a place where one can step out and get a taste of its own, particular uniqueness. Having that very private little courtyard was a real bonus! If you are lucky, Julie will be out collecting eggs or feeding the chickens, and she will fill you in on the little dramas of the flock. Historically, this is a place of welcome and comfort. I can't wait to learn more about the entertaining that was done here in centuries past. And can't wait to return!

Beautiful and Cozy

We came in town over a weekend for a wedding. We had never been to MD so we knew nothing of the area. Julie sent us a list of recommended places to eat and visit during our stay. The room was gorgeous! It had everything we needed for the weekend. And the bed was so comfortable! (I usually hate sleeping away from mine!) This was a wonderful place to stay for a getaway!

Hey, I'm Julie! My husband Jason and I are real estate investors in Southern Maryland. We are just two Libras trying to make the world a more beautiful place one renovation at a time.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

I specifically remember the first time I saw this house shortly after relocating to Southern Maryland. I was incredibly intrigued by it and wondered what it even was - it was so mysterious. Just my style. Little did I know that a few years later we would get to turn it into our dream home.

When we saw the house for sale, despite being in pretty bad shape, we knew it had to be ours. The complete restoration/ renovation took over a year to complete.

I immediately had a vision for what I wanted to create, in that I knew this property was meant to be shared. With friends, with family and anyone else who wants to experience its majestic beauty. It really is quite a magical place. The home and the property has a personality of its own. And as I dreamed up the renovation, I fully listened to what this house and this land wanted to be again, and that's exactly what we created. And we hope and pray we did it justice.

It was definitely the biggest project of our lives. But now we are grateful to sit back and enjoy this as our full time home and share it with others as they pass through.
